the reason why is because its not just a subscribe and play mod like I want it to be (like gmod add-ons) and you have to unpack the vpk from the workshop mod folder into the ep2 game folder. not everyone knows how to get that done (BTW use vpkedit, it's easy to use and fast too) so I just went ahead and put that in the title. should have been more clear with what I meant so my bad. just subscribing won't work 100% because of the .bik file that needs to be in ep2\media.

I'm going to actually try and cut down the file size for the bik as much as I can because 500 MB for a video is ridiculous.

@sweetdreams~🌙 alright I actually know why, and it's an issue with the entire workshop right now that i'm aware of.
I am certain though that the reason it worked for me is because I actually had thefiles already in the correct places, which is what was supposed to happen automatically here but clearly it did not do so. I think I may have to go about it differently, as the way the vpk is set up is telling HL2 that this is a mod for hl2 and is applied to the corresponding folder, when it's actually supposed to be a mod for ep2 and it's folder, so maybe I need to contain everything in an ep2 folder and packing the folder with that in it through the workshop uploader. Try placing the bik file in the workshop vpk in your "ep2\media" folder and going through it again. The vpk can be found in:
"...\steamapps\workshop\220\3399765564"
and then open the workshop_dir.vpk file with GCFScape or another vpk viewable software.
