Not sure if i've broken the campaign but i am stuck with all gates and doors checked and played through now except for the gate (4 hex blue square) under the siege engines in the Beheader's spot. Can't get to the blue thingy because the siege engines are on top of it.
As well, when i ask Lord Dawnstar if we're ready and sadly he says we aren't - The main quest line seems stuck at "Three of Six".
Also, i can't find Sister Osaka in Veilbrooke - she isn't among any of the interact-able npc's in town.
Any suggestions?
Cheers
I may be an idiot... but I spent 2 hours yesterday at the vestige ruins along the paths of the 6th vestige door (the one leading to the lichs) and i was still unable to find the button.
Sorry to hear that! I hope youre recovering well.
I believe this issue is caused by the flyers. Perhaps the Stitcher having true sight. It seems it happens for some people and not others. The map should NOT proc this way. I will fix this and release the update as soon as possible.
THE BEHEADER: The Beheader can be found on the East side of the Vestige Gate Ruins after receiving the GOLDEN KEY. Once you have the Golden Key look for a button near a sewer grate, it will unlock a fight against him as the hidden door opens.
I am glad to return and see people are enjoying this.
I will address the flyers spawning the entire map for some people at the Lost Souls location. I will have to redesign the map, but this is fine and must be done. Thank for bringing this to my attention, it doesn't happen on my play-throughs for some reason.
You are an amazing community, thanks again. I'll get back to work on this.
What a fabulous adventure, truly.
Well written, well designed, thoroughly good fun - and stacks of loot.
10/10.
Thanks!
It will open up once you have finished some of the parts using the dragon key.
The name is a little misleading since you expect it to be used earlier.
Reached the enchantress at level 8, and cannot seem to be able to progress any further but I also killed the sticher before finding the detective.. did I glitch it??
...maybe I sold it. Oops.
In the description of this game it says loot fest, and I want to hold up that promise.
However I also feel compelled to listen to the players. Several have mentioned too much loot. This has delayed the next update because as I work on the loot I also am considering the encounters. Some of which will be VERY difficult without being geared up. So really it has me looking at the entire mod and slowing down my update.
Most importantly right now I want to make fast travel.... faster. More tele options. No one wants to spend their time running across the map and dealing with loading screens.
Cheers everyone!
eod_dad, I am in the process of making the next update (v1.4) and you are NOT the only one that has suggested my loot is out of control. You have my word it will be dialed back in the next update for future players.
This has been an amazing community. THANK YOU EVERYONE. Keep gaming!
I want to know if you ever put out another one, I would greatly appreciate you DMing me if you do!
My only recommendation would be to dial back the loot several notches. It felt so ridiculous that it spoiled immersion. There shouldn't be random crates around town with extremely valuable +1/2 weapons and armor, bags of holding, magical bracers, rings, necklaces, etc. It doesn't feel realistic. It also makes you feel like you haven't earned anything, which reduces a player's sense of accomplishment. I mean I had almost full +1 weapons and armor, a couple of +2 items, and plenty of misc magic items on my level 1 party before I had faced a single enemy, just by fully exploring the town.
I did, however, appreciate all the vendors around town with more variety of items than most mods. Maybe eliminate some of the chests and put *some* of that gear on vendors, to give players something to work towards.
I attempted to put some dialog there that would tell the player - "this is not explore-able"
I want this mod to be the best version of itself and everyone's feedback makes a difference. Thank you again to everyone playing it.
It also rewards crafting -- as crafting can get you items earlier than you find them, which absolutely rewards you for crafting.
It was a fun play through, but also kind of crazy amounts of gold if you sell everything you don't use. I think I had over 1 million gold at one point.
Beheader - I thought you'd get to him right away, too. Like full on, after the first vestige. Needing the gold key should be mentioned by NPCs too, like "You probably need to find a key to enter" rather than him having a secret entrance, cause the doors aren't really secret.
But take that with a grain of salt, we ended up looking around way too long as the descriptions made it sound attainable and we didn't wanna miss content.
Very big thanks for the feedback.
Zero - It is harder to help you with this quest as I am uncertain as to what quest step you are on. The Stitcher is a unique quest line because it is the only side quest that is directly connected to the main quest, as we learn the Stitcher has his hands on a Vestige.
If you skip quest steps to this quest, meaning you pursue killing The Stitcher or moving on to the main story line without following the quest steps, you can FAIL this quest.
To succeed at this quest you must find Detective Skeller and speak with him BEFORE entering the City of Lost Souls. You must also turn in The Stitchers journal (located in the Necropolis of Torment near Murder Alley in a room behind a crate) before traveling to the City of Lost Souls.
The quest warns you in the journal this must be done before killing The Stitcher - if you do not follow the steps to this quest and move on, the quest will fail. BUT - its just a side quest and the main story and campaign can be continued.
The Beheader quest cannot be completed until you acquire the Gold Key (by continuing the main storyline). I think that it where you might be stuck Zero, in that you don't have access the section of the Vestige Gate Ruins that he is hiding out, yet.
If you DO have the Gold Key then you will find the Beheader by searching for a button in the East of the Ruins, near a sewer. This will lead to him and the stolen siege equipment. Killing him will finish the quest. Turning this quest in to Captain Jarvis in Veilbrooke will reward you with a House. Which, is just used as storage, rest, and eventually you can retire there (end the campaign).
But we are quite prone to breaking and missing things. In this case, no idea how to get to both the Beheader (the first sidequest boss) and the Stitcher (second one). We talked to the npcs and were told to go find the secret entrance for the beheader. But all the doors there need keys and we cant find the secret door as advertised.
It's okay if you spoil the solution, we are fully lost at this point.
Likewise with the stitcher, we did the whole second thing before going to find the guy that gave the sidequest progression (the locked door in the portalhub map) and then returned there, to find that he's near murder alley (or maybe we found a clue near there. The wording is a bit ambiguous) and that his lair is near? We can't find it to the life of us.
I used an Fighter, Warlock, Monk, and Sorcadin. All sharpshooters. (Who needs scrolls when you've got magic arrows?)
Thank you, Sinister Ogre, for a very good time!
The only other glitch was the Lich in Vestage 6 kept hanging the game on his second round. I was hiding out of sight and he'd just move a little and then endlessly shake his arms. He couldn't find a target and would not give up, it appears. It took a frontal assault to keep him in the action.
Anyway, I'm up to level 16 with a maxxed out party and just got v6.I'll report back when I finish. Agree that the loot has been quite generous, enough to buy up all the skill books. Still, a solid campaign with excellently devised battles.
First thing I do when combat starts is locate enemy casters and waste them, making sure they don't have reactions.
Hope this helps !
Usually I wait until I finish before commenting, but I couldn't help myself this time around (I'm level 8). So much so that I might replay it immediately with a different party configuration.
Mostly for all the things dewamann mentioned below. It is SO nice not to bang my head on time wasting things like hard puzzles, backtracking, or NPC chains. I intended to start making my own campaigns if and when Solasta 2 permits it, and I will use your adventure as a guideline on how to do it well !
Once this item is in your possession, the quest will update and talking to Dawnstar will then give you the Silver Key needed to progress to your next Vestige Gates.
I hope this helps!
As far as the main quest goes - picking up the loot dropped from Charles Le'Sorcerer (The loot bag that enemies drop) should have scored you a Vestige.
SPOILERS:
It is the Vestige of Cunning Crow - a dagger. If his loot bag was not there where you killed him, I would suggest two things. The first is to check by the nearest campsite. There will be a respite nearby inside the Necropolis of Torment. Sometimes if loot is stuck in Solasta it will be moved to the nearest campsite.
So far, this has been quite entertaining. If I have to backtrack, it would be worth it.
