After over 15 years of playing Arma, always in milsim mode or with the highest level of realism possible, I can say that with people like you, Arma will continue to be around for many more years. Great work, Mission! I encourage you to keep editing.
Shinden 26 Sep @ 1:13pm
Incredible mission and cutscenes!
ONCEAPONTATIME 23 Sep @ 3:53am
would be a great scenario if not for the stupid amount of enemies on the final stand, ai teammates are too dumb to survive that odds and the amount of enemies just hinders performace
Emerald 22 Sep @ 7:17pm
50% casualty rate. Tons o fun.
UEemperor 20 Sep @ 11:11pm
Greetings, awesome work on the mission. I'd like to ask if you are open for feedback, but i wouldn't wanna post it here due to spoilers. Would it be alright to add on steam to communicate? (or on discord whatever works)

Liked and favorited, amazing we need more lightweight missions like this in the workshop :nagisaclannad:

Nice mission. Glad to see cutscenes at arma scenario. The only problem I noticed is that the script doesn't work if you select documents through the inventory (maybe I've caught another bug) but overall, it's great.

@DanteAdams
Thanks a lot for the kind words! Glad you enjoyed it in singleplayer already.
By the way, the voice acting is actually done by real voice actors — aminebtaher, benkoschella, and martinpedersen from Fiverr.
Hope you and your friends have a great time playing the mission together!
DanteAdams 14 Aug @ 6:17am
I am gonna play it with my buddies later, but tried it now singleplayer just to see what it's like - it's a total blast, in a good way, very high quality. I like the believable setting, very well done cutscenes and voice acting, attention to detail, objectives that don't point to the exact thing you're supposed to do but let you figure it out on your own without being too vague, even that you start a bit away so you have the opportunity to scout the area and choose your approach and admire the scenery (which i did).

It's exactly how i like these things, and exactly how i try to make mine, honestly if i didn't know better i'd think i made this (not to say i make scenarios of such a high level of quality but that it's the level of quality i try to achieve and all the stuff i try to add)

The only expection would be AI voice, it's just something i personally wouldn't add, it's just my principle, not saying you should do the same.

Hey @Joshua9797!

All it took was enabling the DLC, thank you so much and so sorry for the late reply.
(my name is very fitting right now):steamhappy:
Joshua9797💾  [author] 7 Aug @ 3:25am
Hay @retard actual™,
sorry to hear that.
The following steps should normally work:

Singleplayer → Scenarios → Under "Subscribed Content on Steam" → Desert Ocean [SP/COOP 1-8] → (Bottom right) "Play"

This should trigger the mission download.

Make sure that the CDLC Western Sahara is enabled in the Arma 3 Launcher.

If you tried playing the mission in singleplayer, try launching it in local multiplayer instead: Multiplayer → Server Browser → Host Server.

If you had any mods enabled, try running the mission without mods to see if that resolves the issue.

Also, try playing a different scenario to check if the issue is specific to this one.

Let me know if you're still running into problems or error messages after that.
giblet-head 6 Aug @ 9:44pm
Really wanted this to work, going into the scenario tab and hitting play does't work :/
Phimeis21 6 Aug @ 8:36am
Great scenario, with fantastic animations. I had a lot of fun playing this mission in multiplayer.
Iclarus 3 Aug @ 12:19am
10/10 mission, so well made and no mods required, great job dude :SoldierThumbsUp:
marco.toppy 2 Aug @ 6:13pm

I love that you get to customize your team & the Zeus was the icing on top.

Hey @Nevnar,
sorry to hear you ran into so many issues.
If you tried playing the mission in singleplayer, try launching it in local multiplayer instead: Multiplayer → Server Browser → Host Server.
If you had any mods enabled, try running the mission without them to see if that helps.
I want to make sure everyone has a smooth experience, so let me know if you're still running into problems after that.
The issue with the AI teammates is known — check out the “Issue Reports” discussion thread for more info.

Hey @Ros Perotte,
thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed the mission.
I'm excited to see your video and get a look at how your take on the mission went.
Ros Perotte 13 Jul @ 4:46am
Congratulations, a great mission, very well created. We loved it, even though we lost half the team throwing a grenade inside the Hostage building.
When I have the edited video, I'll send you the link, although it's in Spanish. Cheers, and thanks for the mission.
zoom3000 12 Jul @ 1:08am
The best mission I ever played in Arma 3.
[ACPL] Jon 11 Jul @ 1:35pm
Awesome mission, great cinematics, details and well-balanced difficulty.
Truely one of the best and seems to work flawlessly in Coop.
Kalel 6 Jul @ 12:45pm
Bro, I just want to tell you that stopping any person who has done missions in Arma 3, the one you uploaded is very well executed, you can tell the love and effort you have dedicated, 10 out of 10.
Nevnar 3 Jul @ 5:45pm
Dogshit. Full of glitches. AI teammates wont even fucking listen to my commands. Wasted 2 days of my life trying to have fun with this since its got outstanding reviews. I can tell it's a labor of love, but damn it, don't make something if you don't know what your doing. 0/10, fuck off.
IQ Sniper 2 Jul @ 3:23am
Its one of the best if it is not the best. Thanks for this mission.

Hey @Moonlight,
Quick question: have you installed the CDLC on the server and can at least see the map listed in the selection using #missions?
If not, you still need to upload the CDLC to the server. Some server hosting sites have a setting or guide for that.
Otherwise, do the following:
Upload the WS folder from your PC (Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 3\WS) into the arma3 folder on the server.
Copy the key file from Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 3\WS\Keys\ws.bikey into the Keys folder on the server.
After restarting the server, the map should show up.
Joshua9797💾  [author] 1 Jul @ 12:58am
Hey @Moonlight,
it should actually be enough to host the scenario locally once
(Multiplayer → Server Browser → Host Server).

Then it should download the .pbo file, which you can then copy to the dedicated server.

The location where it downloads the file seems to vary a bit. Here's a Reddit post:
https://www.reddit.com/r/arma/comments/3dvr1h/where_do_i_find_the_pbo_files_from_the_workshops/

For me, it downloads the pbo to:
C:\programs\Steam\userdata\<userid>\ugc\referenced\<id>\Desert%20Ocean%20[SP%2fCOOP%201-8].SefrouRamal.pbo

I can't remember right now if, as you said, you need to replace all % and other special characters.
Moonlight 30 Jun @ 1:03pm
Hi so im making a server and would love for this mission to be on that server but everytime i try to make a pbo file and extract it into my servers mpmissions folder it doesnt show up when the server is running. i am aware that you should copy the name of the mission and replace all the /:] with _ including spaces for _ aswell i also have the map written after it with . between. is there anyway you can help me with this?
Joshua9797💾  [author] 29 Jun @ 3:30pm
Hey @master chef, glad to hear you enjoyed the mission so much.

I wrote a mini version of the cutscene script in a Reddit post.

You should be able to just copy it or download it via the link there.
If that doesn't work or if you have any questions, feel free to reach out again.

Everything is really great, honestly—this is one of the few missions I’ve enjoyed more than the ones in the base game or any DLC, 10/10. But I’d like to offer you a suggestion or idea: I’m really curious about how you made the intro cutscene, since there aren’t any helpful tutorials on YouTube—they barely explain anything. Could you make a video tutorial to show how it's done? Or, if you don’t want to, do you know if there’s any way I can move your scenario into the editor mode? I’d mainly like to see everything you had to do with the cutscenes and learn from it.
Michalski 29 Jun @ 10:39am
Really Cool Mission! Thank you!

Joshua9797💾  [author] 21 Jun @ 12:08pm
Hello @dxo1a, you need the
Western Sahara DLC for this mission, as it
takes place on the Sefrou-Ramal map
icluded in that DLC.
даола 19 Jun @ 8:45am
can play without DLC? Or mission version without DLC?
destinyconvict39 19 Jun @ 5:02am
that was a hell of a mission. AWESOME.
Liberty_Valance 5 Jun @ 9:52am
Very good thanks ... in fact i suppose that it is better not to destroy the AA and use it to target enemy vehicles
CowboiYEETbop 2 Jun @ 10:28pm
Yup this was S+ tier mission making. That last firefight had my PC chugging hard with all the bodies piling up in the field but hey that's what bad ass gunfights should look like and I probably could have turned down a lot of the blood and gore settings to make it not so CPU intensive. For anyone having trouble getting it to run from the scenario tab, make sure the DLC is actually enabled in the launcher. That was my problem.
GallopingGepard 1 Jun @ 1:46am
Very well put together. I hope you make more!
War Is Peace 31 May @ 10:28am
Very nice mission, best cutscenes I've seen in A3.
Lord Walrus 28 May @ 11:53pm
Really enjoyable mission. Hoping you do more in the future!
parrygod 26 May @ 10:31am
Really well done mission. Worthy of being in an official campaign. Only suggestion is to add a garbage collector. The bodies pile up and eat performance.
[It's]DJ_OMG! 25 May @ 8:45pm
Wow, great effort btw
UnHolyDarKness 21 May @ 11:37am
Great mission, i really enjoyed it. for a moment even felt like playing a totally new game. Well done and thank you:steamhappy:

8+
Bendy 20 May @ 5:48am
Great mission!! by the way, for voiceovers when you want them fast, just use Elevenlabs. The AI voices are basically the best you can get and indistinguishable from real actors now.

Don't know if only I had issues with dialogue volume but it was extremely loud, I did enjoy it thou. Great mission, it shows that you like when everything is polished. Would definitely recommend to friends if i had any.
QubeQ 5 May @ 1:56pm
Very good op fun balanced and veryy well made cutscenes vo and all of it, through the whole campaing only had the ai following problem that was repaired by the command in comments and a grenade spawned instead of the intel lol but picking up the nade worked as picking up the intel. 10/10 very good time playing this duo with my friend.
Joshua9797💾  [author] 29 Apr @ 9:57am
