You should disable any other HUD modifications before you try editing, because they might be conflicting. After you've done that, simply edit the RGB values in clientscheme.res, it should be located in "steamapps\common\Half-Life 2\hl2_complete\resource"

Can you tell me how did you managed to change the color of the hud? I tried multiple guides but I couldn't manage to get it to work.
