1. I dunno if its working in "Dawn of dead - mod". Never tried.
You could try your self.
As LONG as game dosnt ADD any stages them self, or changes them.
Should work.
(Post criptum: This mod dosnt reduce cost of units, its only increases stages - and giving around 1k call points to call em all.)

To your question, is kinda both in this case.
And its only dependable on difficulty you play.
Once in vanilla 2 months ago i played on vanilla playing us vs germ on highes difficulty.
Before we knew, we got swarmed by enemy troopers.
We got like only 2 stages and only mid canons.
Wave after wave, they stormed us. (we were defending)
Our arty didnt keep up with loading sheels to keep deleting them.
Done, now go get them soldier, leave no witnesses.
Hmmmm, so, is it the mod that does this, or is this vanilla behavior? Cuz iirc, the AI will come in waves.
It should be just player.
Or soo i think, game addapts to your play style.
If you difficulty is set to hardest you can, game changes.
My mod kinda does affect ai... in some way, the more units (power) you have the more ai will place against you.
Soo, ai will adapt to amount units you place against.
Also forgot, from what i know, ai in conquest dosnt have stages.
you could have 1 stage and ai would place/call 10 waves of units out of no where
I mean sure thing, i can make it.

Tho im suprised, you friends could do that too, its one code to change.

I could do that, but that would be a completly different mod in this case (to keep this one original)
But there is a different way, you can change it.
Here is how:
1. go to - D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\400750
then from there go to - resource/set/dynamic_campaing
2. choose one of "resource" difficulty (or all of them)
if you using notepad++
the line of code you should be intrested is 5
if you dont have notepad++ look for "{SpecialCP 100}"
3. Change the number of specialcp from 100 to 300
4. save it, check it, enjoy it
Is just one code to change for you to enjoy your idea.
But if you really want, i can make seperate mod for you and call it a day

So you have 2 option
1. remove mod that adds units with dremendous cp usage.
D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\400750
2. change code of my mod for your self.
in tab "Budget" if you use notepad++ its in 95 in lane of codes.
Change it to whatever cp amount you want
REMEBER;
Make sure to choose a dificulty that you play
when changing
make sure
all 4,8,12,16,20 has same amount of cp
Also, if you are not sure on your side what to do, add me in steam so i can give in pv discord id.
And there i will guide you thru.

It wont affect ai, stages are only player based lines, for ai is completly different script.
You are free to change the basis of my mod to increase stages to your desire.
But remeber, its only affects player, not ai.
For AI its only adapts to your play style, units and timing, depends on what difficulty you play.
If i would say from technical way and gameplay wise, it only will affect ai in matter of units you have and its own units that displays against you and how much. Cus it has own preset call-in logic.
Soo answer should be really like:
Yes-10%
No-80%
Unsure-10%
You could affect ai in two ways that is noticable;
First is to directly change ai codes like;
faction_units.set — defines available units per faction
battleplans.set — controls AI force composition
battleplan_units.set — links battle plans to specific units
But still having basic coding of battles.
Any of those 2 listed ways isnt in my mods.
Didnt wanted to change anything.
No, no script of ai were touched during coding.
It was only for side of player reinforcements, shouldnt affect ai in anyway.
May be related to other mods, try looking what mod causing this.
Cus some mods might "bite" each other.
If this first method wont work there are some others;
Second: try to re-sub mod, maybe some files are missing
Third: try running "verify files" of game, maybe some files are missing from game
Fourth: try running game in "safe mode" might help too
I leave those methods to you, and what order you do them

If you mean what gamemode this mod is... its for conquest mode.
If you mean how to run this mod you go to extra's and look up the mod and click "activate"
All it does its changes basic stages, and makes it so you can call them up quickly
