Hi Omega! I think that the conflict is possible if the textures of the HEV suit or weapon are replaced. Since I only made changes to the VMT config file. Also, it is possible that some modifications will have their own shaders and bump maps.

what's the difference with this one and say the 2004 specular weapons pack? I guess the 2004 one could use just OG 2004 textures and other material files, whereas maybe yours uses the current 2024 ones but in them you've replicated the 2004 specularity? Also please upload AR2 picture :'D I always thought the AR2 suffered most from the phong shading update when it previously looked like it was built from the same Combine metal a lot of their barricades & structures did, but the phong update made it look very matte and dull.

It is unfortunate that hl2 phong specularity only works on a few direct point light sources at a time.
(Also unfortunate that hl2 cubemaps have no roughness, interpolation, or parallax, but not the point)

i don't think they were broken, but instead replaced with phong lighting in episode 2 and backported to hl2 and ep1 in the orange box update, due to phong being much more flexible and (arguably) better looking
