This is why i have drafts for a YAMC 2 that is entirely custom missions instead of biped swap slop, but that is distant future stuff since im busy with civil unrest. Entirely agree tho

Fun during some large scale engagements, but reaches extreme levels of tedium once allies have either died or abandoned you. The entire draw of a marine campaign conceptually is to be a small cog playing your part within a larger force rather than the center of attention/sole savior. Why is a single marine sent to arm the bomb on crows nest and face off against two Chieftain packs in the barrier towers? Engagements like this defeat the purpose of the mod, turning you into a squishy Master Chief equivalent that gets obliterated by a single brute shot round.

Cool idea but the gimmick quickly loses its flavour when you're going up against a fuel rod brute in a closed room or you can't jump onto the scarab

Mod is tons of fun, love being a weak marine amidst all the main characters. Playing smart it feels like you're some kinda veteran or specialist.

this mod would be a lot better in first person, or atleast with a shoulder swap button.

I think first person, with a red screen when you take damage so you don't just die suddenly not knowing how much health you have would make this mod awesome

still stand by what i said best marine mod going, but the vehicle sections are hard, troops are getting in that not a problem, the health is. now you taking damage when the back of the hog gets shot is a stupid consept altogether however when your a spartan it not to bad, due to your shield but as a marine, its hell. im enjoying the mod still great work

jesus fucking christ this mod has fun bits but ALL the vehicle sections are absolutely maddening. please fucking fix the AI. the AI never get into the vehicles you are in so u end up sorely lacking firepower you would need and just have to sitback and watch its annoying as fuck and all the elites dont even get into any vehicles except the gauss and normal warthogs. it shouldnt be such a fucking headache on normal and to top it all off they dont even shoot sometimes in the vehicles dude. i got all the way to the dual scarab fight and you managed to make it mind numbing

Can confirm, Crows Nest was actual hell. Spoilers for the level and somewhat for the mod in general, though it is spoiling Crows Nest so it's more of a warning lmao.
It expects you to fight two hunters, an entire room of jackals and grunts, and then an entire room of brutes including a chieftain. The mod tends to add fire teams of marines where they aren't usually, I believe, which is good, but it does not for the end of Crows Nest where you fight this whole team. It's just insane, I just skipped the level because I'm not putting myself through that.

Pretty cool, but the second level cranks it up way too fast. It doesn't make sense that Master Chief isn't tagging along, and only getting 3 other marines for the rescue part is pretty much useless lol

Having Chief and Arby fight alongside you as AI is pretty dope. Really helps with the immersion. Would love to see something similar for the other games.

Played through a couple levels. I don't know what you did to make things feel so much more visceral, but every mod needs to have whatever you've put into it (is it lighting effects? Screen shake from taking hits and shooting? Being smaller?). Yeah, I love that guns have recoil, it feels amazing. One thing I could agree with others' on is the need for the health bar to be displayed.

I don't even know if my health regenerates (I suspect it does, just slowly). This is close to being perfect.

Sad to hear but if its giving you so much trouble to update then that's fine. honestly didn't realize recompiling maps was such a time consuming process myself.

Alright, im cutting my losses. This mod is deprecated and abandoned.

Its VERY VERY janky internally. I can't even compile scripts on the Ark anymore it just ignores me when i recompile. And the process I have to go through to compile everything and allow for ODST players on the Ark and Marines on earth, its very complex and I have to do it in chunks and modify globals each time. Not to mention this mod has a functioning multiplayer that no one talks about or really even knows exists, and that adds another 2 hours to the already 6 hour long compile time for maps.

I really dont want to deprecate this one due to the amount of time I spent working on it, but yeah.

Ill update it to keep up with any mcc updates, but thats it. Sorry.

I'll probably tag release this on nexus soon.

at the warthog run, only chief gets in the hog and arbiter just stands there not doing anything, but when i get arbiter in the hog chief just stand there not doing anything. neither want to get in the warthog when either chief or arbiter get in turret

Alright. This is a review for this mod

I’ve never in my life ever hated master chief as a gameplay character until i’ve played h3 with your mod.
Master Chief is the biggest piece of shit i’ve ever had the experience of serving alongside with as a marine. You are told that this guy is a hero, and has faced the covenant numerous times, and for some reason when i played this mod i immediately changed my mind because Chief doesn’t go first, doesn’t utilise the skills that he has to his advantage, waits for you to walk through the corridor first, brings a bunch of ODST fellas to what could be literally hell, only to pick up his ai hatsune miku looking ass hoe who isnt even real. All the ODST have died in the process of retrieving cortana because his ass has attachment issues.

That to me, is hilarious. Chief sucks in literally everyway and i’m so glad i got to experience it thanks to you.

Yeah, it really sucks, but the game is just broken like that. Disabling shields for the player screws up the infection forms, the game treats the player as if they have permanent shields anyway.

I did a lot of testing before release and I just couldnt get the infection forms to infect the player either. Not even their corpse. It has to be hardcoded. Idk what 343 did to enable it for ODST but whatever they did I cant replicate. I hate it as much as you do, trust me.

I'm loving this mod, something id like to see if possible is making the infection forms more deadly to you as a marine. I was saddened when i stood in a swarm of them and didn't get infected while the other marines around me did immediately. I don't know if its doable, but i'd love it if it was.
