Realistic Drivers

Yeah, my experience matches @KaloChen. As far as the 'quick exit' drivers right in front of me, I think that's the price you pay for the other good things. And you can see them coming. 90% of them zip right on ahead of me and I don't even have to hit the brakes anyway.

@KaloChen Thank you for the feedback! I've been trying to dial it in to improve the vehicles pulling out from junctions but haven't been able to have much success without changing the rest of the behavior. I experience that as well. I adjusted my driving so if I see a truck that's going to be merging onto my road I either slow down and let them in, get over a lane, and floor it and beat em to it. Lol

Been using this for a couple of weeks with a realistic traffic density mod, around 25 hours of gameplay. It definitely improves vehicles entering and letting you enter freeways, traffic is overall smoother and slightly less buggy. Seems to make everyone drive faster too which makes everything slightly more realistic. The only occasional problem is cars pulling out of junctions right in front of you, no collisions yet though. Saw one semi stuck across train tracks but that's not this mods fault I don't think, more to do with the dense traffic. As long as this is updated I'm going to keep using it, adds immersion and an extra touch of realism. Thumbs up.

@FindFloppies, I gotta try this.
RaeAGE 3 Feb @ 2:53pm
This mod is 100% legit

I'm stacking this with Cipus' Real Traffic Density (Real Traffic loaded first), and it is (so far) smoothing out the bad behaviors while giving me traffic to share the road with. They're not so aggressive in crowded traffic, but, yet, they clear out more quickly, and there are less wrecks, and, if they do have a fender bender, they're likely to work it out themselves and get things moving again. Less 'stuck and reload' definitely so far. We shall see how it goes.

you all know how mad we all get then a car pull out in front of us and fucking stops boom!!!! and lot of words come out lol i hope this mod fix it
Purity Control  [author] 1 Feb @ 7:48am
@Kaog it should help with that

Does this mod fix the problem with drivers not braking when merging onto highways?

There are games for sale on Steam which are 100% about selling illicit stuff. It's a mission feature in GTA. A standalone black market mod would be awesome. Jobs from the south and any waterside area, Texas, Cali etc. Could integrate other mods. Some comments regarding such a mod I've found around the web;
"That would pair nicely with the GPS option for small roads",
"This would work really well with the viva Mexico mod",
"I remember one such mod from Steam Workshop a couple of years ago, installed it too.
It consisted of three trailer skins, depicting a scruffy, old curtain slider.
The cargo was called "Illegal Goods" or something similar. Rewards were higher but so were traffic fines if you were caught speeding or got in an accident etc."

great work

@jonc1978, thanks for the helpful info 😉

@Purity Control all i can say m8 is both ATS/ETS2 work amazing the game has been crying out for something simple like this ,keep it up :steamthumbsup:
the_mighty_butt_pir8 10 Dec, 2024 @ 5:11am
@BobbPenn the Real Traffic Density mod by CIP has a line for max AI traffic of 10,000 where as this mod has the line limited to 50 inside the traffic_data.sii file. That is why loading the CIP mod first is recommended, or you can just edit the traffic_data.sii file from this mod to whatever number you like also if only using this mod.
BobbPenn 10 Dec, 2024 @ 12:06am
@Purity Control not sure if it was updated last night cause I was probably in the game at that time, I'll certainly pay attention next time.
Yeah, the traffic could be a bit faster on average but it's already ok. The best thing would be if you could combine a certain percentage of 'angry drivers' along with the realistic, that would be awesome, although I guess it's not really possible with the current parameter system...
I don't see the point of illegal cargos, unless you could pick up drugs and immigrants from Mexico to US only and firearms only from US to Mexico :)) In any case, the official labels should be something legal :steammocking:
Purity Control  [author] 9 Dec, 2024 @ 12:40pm
Also, has anyone noticed traffic driving a lot slower with this mod enabled? Just double check that you don't have WinterDrivers installed pleaseeee and let me know
Purity Control  [author] 9 Dec, 2024 @ 12:33pm
@BobbPenn @webbdavi2023 I just adjusted the safety factor and patience values a little bit lower, let me know if you see a difference and also to answer your question webbdavi2023 the black market cargo is hidden for now, I'm gonna remove the drugs because honestly I don't know if that's bannable or not, but I'll be replacing the drugs with some other cargo types soon
webbdavi2023 9 Dec, 2024 @ 12:02pm
I've noticed a similar thing happen even with Angry Drivers which I use. I just keep this/Angry Drivers bellow ALL "Traffic" MODs.
BobbPenn 9 Dec, 2024 @ 7:17am
@Purity Control that's rather odd, for me it obviously drops down the quantity of traffic by a lot when your mod is above. tbf it might be some other mod interfering, completely unrelated to the traffic
Purity Control  [author] 9 Dec, 2024 @ 6:24am
@BobbPenn there are no shared parameters, it shouldn't affect the traffic density, the density mods shouldn't interfere but I recommend keeping my mod below any sort of traffic density mods
BobbPenn 9 Dec, 2024 @ 2:24am
@Purity Control
a quick question: I just figured out that if I give realistic driver mod a priority over real traffic density mod, the density goes down to default or very close to it...
so what are the shared parameters between the two and does the real traffic density mod have any effect on your mod when put above?
Purity Control  [author] 8 Dec, 2024 @ 1:44pm
@jonc1978 thank you a bunch!! You might be able to speed up the process by using search and replace in a program like Notepad++ or even using something like ChatGPT to speed it up, also feel free to take full credit because this mod was just my way of improving the game and I wanted to share it with everyone else so they can also enjoy the game as much as I have :) Thank you again for taking the time to do that, I appreciate it a lot!!!
the_mighty_butt_pir8 7 Dec, 2024 @ 11:16pm
@Purity Control

I have uploaded the Realistic Drivers to steam workshop for ETS2. Working on Angry Drivers now. Those two were pretty straight forward conversions. The Winter Drivers will require a bit more time to unpack out the default def.scs file from SCS ETS2 and grab all the COUNTRY files and folders and edit each one individually to reduce speed limits and what not.
Purity Control  [author] 7 Dec, 2024 @ 6:42pm
@jonc1978 have at it man, that would be greatly appreciated :)
the_mighty_butt_pir8 7 Dec, 2024 @ 2:23am
@Purity Control
I can probably convert your Winter, Angry, and Realistic mods to work on the ETS2 game if you would like me to do that. I know you dont have ETS2, so I would have to upload somewhere else or add it to my steam workshop if you dont mind. Let me know if you would like me to do that for you.
Purity Control  [author] 2 Dec, 2024 @ 7:19am
@BobbPenn that's the traffic density mod I use and it does work :)
BobbPenn 2 Dec, 2024 @ 3:41am
does it work with Cip's Real Traffic Density mod?
juanredman 1 Dec, 2024 @ 11:44am
Ok thanks Purity
Purity Control  [author] 1 Dec, 2024 @ 7:38am
@Roane Gaming try unsubscribing and resubscribing, it's working perfectly on my end for 1.53 :)
@ juanredman I don't own ETS2 at this time, so I can't create one for ETS unfortunately
Roane Gaming 1 Dec, 2024 @ 7:30am
G'day Purity, Realistic Drivers seems to be not working correctly in 1.53, we tested it in 1.52 and it worked great however we have noticed that it's definitely not working properly in 1.53 because the AI is up to it's old tricks and more.
juanredman 1 Dec, 2024 @ 5:02am
can you please this mod also for ets2 ?
Purity Control  [author] 28 Nov, 2024 @ 12:56pm
Thank you everyone for the kind feedback :) I pushed an update to all 3 of my mods (WinterDrivers, AngryDrivers and this one) for 1.53! So far so good atleast for RealisticDrivers!
Leonardo Paulus 25 Nov, 2024 @ 8:54am
a really good mod. please create this for the ETS as well. thanks
Kcrowell1287 24 Nov, 2024 @ 1:33pm
This is a really fantastic mod. I agree 100% about the AI traffic behavior degrading the quality of the experience of the game. I have stopped playing at times because I am sick of dealing with it. Thank you so much for this mod! You have seriously increased the quality of my game play.
3 Bubbles Off 24 Nov, 2024 @ 4:23am
Thanks for sharing your work!!!!
Tondenga 22 Nov, 2024 @ 9:05pm
Buenas noches, gracias por su respuesta, el mod funciona bien , error mio
ande3224 22 Nov, 2024 @ 9:02am
I really appreciate this mod. I was getting tired of being targeted and hit by the AI vehicles. Who changes lanes and then steps on the brakes? Now it's a lot better. I wish you could do something about the slow drivers in the high speed lane; they won't move and then when you try to pass on the right they change into the right lane and cause you to hit them or try to stop. Thanks for a great mod.
Oz Gaming 21 Nov, 2024 @ 8:16pm
Mod is working in the ATS 1.53 beta.
TPopBCornD 20 Nov, 2024 @ 1:44pm
Don't use with the California Roll/Stop mod. AI drivers will be 10 million times dumber and somehow also affected AI behavior at traffic lights and during freeway merging. I chose to keep the Cali mod and unsub from this.
lisa-brough 20 Nov, 2024 @ 6:53am
works great , any chance of one for ETS2 it is sorely needed :steamthumbsup:
Rich 19 Nov, 2024 @ 12:25pm
Is there any way for you to create a mod when I want to merg into traffic on the highway or if Im trying to switch lanes on the highway and there is someone in that lane to flash the highbeams to let me over? That will make the game a little more realistic instead of having to wait for the car to pass.
**Viper** 19 Nov, 2024 @ 7:39am
Thanks for the mod! Finally, no one is tailgating me. Congratulations!
kretschmer 19 Nov, 2024 @ 1:25am
Thanks for the feedback. I also think that your mod makes the AI better, but I'm still testing ;-) You should still check the loading order though. Because your traffic_data changes values...Cip also has traffic data - if your mod is set lower, it will be overwritten by the traffic_data cip... I have it running via the Cip mod...please check that. My comparisons don't help because I don't fully understand the parameters of the traffic_data.

@mpo1973 it's my pleasure :) thank you!!
mpo1973 18 Nov, 2024 @ 8:19pm
Purity Control Thank You! You are now giving me the best of both worlds, if I so choose one or the other. I will drive nice and use this mod, or when being aggressive I can turn on the other mod you created. Thanks so much!:happy_yeti:

expiredfruit 18 Nov, 2024 @ 7:44pm
is there a version of this that makes the drivers driving worse. like have them be actively hostile and dangerous to the player
Truckyluv 18 Nov, 2024 @ 2:37pm
I just give them a bit of pittee, heehee. Move slightly offline an knudge them out the way, no damage if done correctly.
testpatatepoil 18 Nov, 2024 @ 1:59pm
emermartinez009 exactly :)
emermartinez009 18 Nov, 2024 @ 8:20am
something i find unrealistic about traffic is that trucks are always going to the limit, it seems like they are empty all the time, no matter what whether they're going up or down
