The closer to 0 the setting is, the less mountainous the map will be. So 0.5 would be 50% of the default hilliness, 0.2 would be 20% of the default hilliness. And with 0 you should get no mountains at all. You do have to exit the game completely once you change a setting though. So change setting, exit game, launch game again and create a new world. That should work normally

How do I change the MapHilliness? I edited the number in the xml file, but I am not seeing any difference in how mountainous the map is. Which number makes it more mountainous, 0 or 1? Thanks

@KnowChillx Just looked into it but the "Huge" map option is appearing for me. Could be an incompatibility with another mod? If not I'm not sure

It shows that I have the mod 'checked' but there is no 'Huge' option in the sandbox menu.

@SweetCaptn Is there anyways to "hit the road" and have the game generate with the settings of this mod? Usually it just defaults to the normal settings it looks like.

an example would be: my character says he's gonna chop some woods, but doesn't do anything and stands still, then when i control him and tells him to chop wood for example. he simply doesn't do it, i reload my save and he does one chop, then freezes, might be a memory thing, hope it helps fixing this mod

like tommy said, i encountered the same issue, i had a fresh start and was really excited then this happened, it's gameplay breaking tbh, once i reload a save sometimes they carry out their jobs and then freeze in their places again, i think it's a processing thing.

Well that's unfortunate.. The 2m^2 sizes aren't officially supported so that must be why the pathfinding issues are arising. I'll put a note in the description to let everyone know, thanks!

there are pathfinding issues and my guy will just repeat the same action of cutting wood etc zombies get stuck on invisable walls when there are no walls

Map generation will fail if you increase everything too much, there's nothing I can do about that I believe

There is no fix for the index out of range, you have to keep playing with the settings until it works. It's what the game is capable of handling. Oddly enough, I don't have any issues using the Huge map setting, but increasing everything else will make that error pop.

The index was out of range error also happens when setting the world map size at 2km, and have any of the other setting at 200 (haven't tried anything between 100 to 200 to find the bitter spot). Which is a shame since this means we can have a large map similar to the first game but very sparse, or have a relatively small but highly dense map.

Loot set to 500% is pretty sweet though.

Yea, game cant load with 1k% values, "Index was out of range", so mod is working, but there is the issue in the game, write to Bob or something, maybe he will fix that.

Hey Captn, maybe i figgired out about the issue, saves are working, with mods and s.l.t., but i think the game just cant get too high values of generation(like 1000% of cities) (we are played in 2km^2 world with standard settings, for the original game), i will test some with generation settings and will update the comment, dont delete the mod rn.

Hey :) thanks to everyone for reporting the issues, and you for the detailed explanation of what's happening! Helps me a ton, I can't promise I'll get it fixed but when I get the time it will be one of my top priorities. If I can't find a fix, I'll eventually remove the mod (wasting player's saves was not the intention ha)

Don't know how I missed this mod lol but I downloaded it as soon as I saw it to test it a little and it seemed to work okay (just a few split second fps dips that went away after a few minutes), while playing everything worked fine and the game was able to load the save if I just left to the main menu but once I completely closed the game it would crash after trying to load the save so maybe it's like a cache problem or something? Like once you generate the map all the info gets saved in the current session so you can leave and enter but after you close the game that data is no longer there so maybe that's why it can no longer load the save?
Hope you keep working on this mod and are able to fix it, the map being 2x (maybe 3x in the future? :P) as big as normal would make the game even better than it already is, hopefully interiors get added too tho that seems unlikely haha

I get that error also with 1 km map. I'll get a few errors generating maps, then one will work and I can play and save/load. Seems when I reboot PC and then game I'll get the error.

Just using the vanilla slider and 2km map, map creation went smoothly, but when I tried to load the save game it failed.

It just stutters at the start when entering the game but after that it's smooth.

Oh! I see now.. So you had already generated the map, and had no trouble playing on it until you tried loading the save later on. I'll look into that, but its probably a limitation on the amount of entities the game can load

Map generation works just fine, loading the map is the issue. Could it be that you dont have the bounds set for loading or something? Never looked at the code for this game so just grasping at straws :).

Specs:
i7-9700ks
RTX 2070S
32GB DDR4 3600MHz
1TB NVME Drive

Not sure how that compares to you, but I would think it should be fine, but maybe not. Hopefully the specs help someone figure that out. Appreciate the response Sweet, your mods are excellent btw.

I believe much of it depends on your computer (I could be wrong). In my case I can create the 2km^2 maps and play on them, but if I try adding more towns or roads, the map generation fails. There's nothing I can do unfortunately, but I'll take a look

Getting the following:
Error Loading Game: Index was outside the bounds of the array.

Seems to only happen when using the largest map type, any idea? I cant tell from what it says what array it is, but I am assuming that there is an array that is holding the information for map gen and its falling outside of that. I leave everything default except the map size. Any ideas?
