Sorry man but I'm not taking requests, hopefully someone else will do it though.
Completely understandable
Niether am I, you can always also not include the normal map in the CUSTOM MASK's VTF file.
Very true, but that file is also editable (Or at least the .Vtf is)
Still, cool stuff
No I only have the NICK version and this one released
I hope it was helpful and easy to follow, but I'm glad that you appreciate it.
I finshed making the video I'll post it here on this page.
Sure I can do that just give me some time to do so.
Sorry for my lack of brain cells, but i tried everything i could to make my own custom mask. even had to go through youtube on how to go about with the editting and stuff. is it too much to ask for a tutorial vid showing us how exactly?
You need to open up the VPK file. The Materials are in VTF format in the materails folder. Edit the specfic texture of the survivor you want to change and save the file under the same name as the orginal file in the same format.
Medium Armor NICK:

Light Armor NICK:

I have the same skin done for Nick I believe.
In order to make a mask you have to open up the VPK file and find the survivor's mask that you want to replace. The open up your favorite photo editing software and edit the surviors mask texture that you want to replace. Save over the orginal image with the same name and file type. Then pack it all back into a VPK and place the updated VPK into your addons folder.
All the characters are the same exact model just with masks that are easily replaced with out having to redo the compiling for the model. Texture wise
If anything weird happens when it shouldn't I recomeend that you VALIDATE your L4D2 files via STEAM
I recommend that you use "PAINT.NET" and then download "VTF Edit" (both are free) open it up in Paint.NET and edit it how you wish and then save it as the same name as the one you replaced.
Three coments down I have explained it and if that does not clear it up I have also included more instructions in the mod when the VPK is opened up.
Where do I find the files so I can edit the mask?
Happy to help
it really helped
In order to change the masks you have to open the .vpk and then go to materials and find the mask you want to replace and edit the texture in any photo editing software you have and then save it as the same name and make sure its the same file format. Then repackage it using the .vpk thing you used to unpackage it and BAM it's done and ready to use. No compiling nessacary.
If you go to gamemaps.com there is a Rio mod up there.
I could release one Specfilly for it.
Yes that would be awsome.
