want to add to Unruly's comment that the Square Sloped Corner Tip is also missing

Hi, thanks for your mods!

I was just noticing that there's no panels for the 2x1 sloped base & tip panels? You've got all the ones for the sides, but none for the face.

I'm not saying that in jest btw, I would actually love to see more SE modders making resized blocks of various kinds. Unfortunately remaking all the armor blocks into Heavy Armor is a fair bit of work however and I myself am unfortunately very busy atm with other projects.

It would be possible... download Blender 4.1 and enenra's SEUT plugin, come over to the AQD Discord and people can help show you how it's done :)

would it be possible to make heavy armor variants of all the XL blocks?

In regards to build huge grids, yes, less cubeblocks will help performance, which these blocks cater for being the equivalent of 27 vanilla 1x1x1 blocks in a single block. In all other cases, they're just blocks.

Will the blocks for these mods help with server performance?

Update: added Small Grid variants!!

Thanks Kreeg. I'm highly curious how different this will be in VRage3. I'm guessing the mount surface size effect is noticeable on the Space Tether part I made in my other mod.

Greetings, I saw this today and I can confirm the Theory presented from technical knowledge.

Yes, as you're reducing the block count you're still saving performance.
True Armour (ones using the actual Armour TypeID, which gets unstable above 1x1x1 due to its culling system and assembly) does have additional tricks but this stuff here is still an Improvement. Now there is an upper cap to the gain with either, and thats about in the double to triple digit sized blocks since then MountSurface size starts to eat performance or overwhelm the engine, as this is VERY far from that point, you should see performance increases.

For context, the Armour panels are not the same TypeID as blocks like the Armour Cube, InvertedCorner etc which are actual armour TypeID users while Panels are just cubeblocks which lack the fancy stuff.

In theory, as with the 5x5x5 P.O.M XL Blocks, yes.... there's an argument in the community regarding vanilla armor blocks in how the game merges their physics, though this apparently only applies to the 1x1x1 cube and none of the other vanilla armor block shapes. In my experience, being able to build with larger blocks helps reduce total block count for large builds, and therefore the less stuff the game has to load in... the only challenge really is not making the blocks too strong.

Would this in theory improve performance with large bases and ships

oooh, those will be handy! Thank you for the work :)
