You may need to clear Character Cache. Just checked and no issues on my end having the Codex load up for him, and not heard anyone else mention that til now, so it may be a cache error. Or another mod, but if he's the only one then it's probably cache.

This is possibly my favorite modded character so far. He feels right, and like he has his own flavor. He is bad-ass, but not overpowered or flashy, as well as true to form. His combos require skill and creativity, but they're also versatile and interesting. All his tools work well and feel satisfying to use. So, so tasteful and so dope. Vastly underappreciated. I want him to be as common in peoples' rosters as Ink's characters. Gonna start telling everyone to download him.

not as flashy as other modded characters. but cool overall. perhaps a bit too strong but not sure if in the realm of OP yet.
i am a bit confused about the collectibles and what they do exactly but i only played him once so far.
the platforms used for air redirection stays on the battlefield until the end..

One is an achievement reward the other you get by paying or winning a meaningful tournament.

Fixed the crash when not using a style without the Codex mod installed.

And fixed end of match achievements not always activating.

I got it to work!
you do need to have every other weapon.
It feels kinda justified so you couldn't just get a hustle off somewhere in the match and just get the stopwatch? maybe it's more reasonable now though

You need to have every other subweapon I'm pretty sure.

That's an artifact of old timestop that was a design cancer we had to cure. I'll see if we feel like we can justify removing that requirement.

hmm, it still seems to be not showing up in the scavenge shop either. is there more to completing a full hustle? Is it not available in singleplayer? does it require to be against another modded character? is this a my copy issue somehow?

You have to buy stopwatch with Scavenge.

You'll like stopwatch then! It's his ultimatum of his design of punishing uninteractive play. Especially ever since the overhaul. Buying it from the shop just means that you don't have to rely on hitting the opponent to make it drop.

wanted to this to the other comment but forgot, this character is really cool, and I can say that even *not* as a castlevania fan. really fun to play as, and that's saying something when most modded lobbies are people trying their best to be completely uninterative, which is a massive compliment to make that fun! (belmont also basically hard counters that playstyle which is very awesome:steamthumbsup:)

The watch doesn't seem to show up, even if I do a hustle. I'm waiting for the animation to fully finish, but even still it doesn't do anything, even if I have the other subweapons. is it not working properly or is there an additional requirement I'm not meeting?

Heyo. Thanks for the feedback. Always nice to read stuff I can actually work with.

I have considered Alucard, but probably not touching that one just cuz he has waaaaaay too many tools just in SotN (my personal favorite in the series) not to mention the few other appearances. I just dunno how I'd narrow it down without leaving out really iconic stuff.

Nero would probably be the one I'd most likely pick up and be able to do. Not just yet, but maybe.

I'll check his movement again, but originally his movement was measured against vanilla, and some design doc stuff for how far backflip should go. Dodge literally uses vanilla frame data, though it does carry momentum better. I could certainly review that.

Curious if you've labbed his combos against proper DI in single player? I might be missing some tricks but DI generally does a fair bit against him if you aren't countering it with a DI read move, which some are designed that way. So you get to mix up the opponent mid combo, but guessing wrong makes your combo potentially drop.

He is very much getting damage toned down in the upcoming update so hopefull that and the other tweaks puts him more in line

Despite his overtuned damage Belmont still struggles with correct DI reads.

As for other characters, I wouldn't want to put Tin into the permanent blender with two characters to maintain. And my idea for how Alucard should work seems to be something that would be a nightmare to code.

Idk anything about KH or DMC tbh.

I have plans for a character maybe that'll happen next year since I'm waiting on a friend to be available and willing to help. But he's making his own really cool character atm.

This just sounds like pub DI. In settings with actual human beings playing the game like tournament settings with the current steam build his damage is what's slightly overtuned.

His movement is very limiting it's one of the handful of things all my testers and regular players on braketeering agree limits him from being insano crackhead op. In return for the lack of control he has speed. He's a rushdown character first and foremost, like wizard he's *supposed* to use setup to improve his agro.

On the current built subweapon damage is slightly overtuned but aside from damage by themselves they are pretty useless and either avoidable or parryable. They only work in conjunction with his melee attacks.

I would love to see more characters from you, though. You're good at this. What would your Alucard look like? I can feel the whole ass armory rattling on that floaty vampire, with sick installs and sicker movement.

The way your character(s?) move(s) is clearly more comprehensive than most, despite not giving out Xplots like candy. Belmont doesn't have some gaudy 7f teletrap, he slides, leaps, ducks, and marches (a bit fast, looks off on the replay,) just like in the games with killer style.

I would honestly PAY to see your take on something like KH2's Sora, or DMC's Nero - I'd bet hard money you'd come up with some real clever interpretations on KH's SP mechanics, drive forms, or DMC's taunts, movement, and timing mechanics.

Belmont very easily overpowers opponents at really long ranges, and can turn a single cross hit into brainless 50%+ combos without ever risking Burst.

He's far too fast, movement wise - his backflips, jumps, and dodges are amazingly strong and completely eclipse the vanilla roster. Even against the sweatiest cowboys, he's never really vulnerable because he has 9+ different ways to scam frame advantage.

He is absolutely peak, design wise - but he's definitely overtuned. His individual hits do little damage, but his ability to instantly develop any combo into 50+ hit frametraps that all easily kill DI counterplay, while also being able to stand and whip out of burst range - it's all just a bit much.

He doesn't need a basic attack with the dagger. Flip crack, it's already a f4.

I'd be willing to consider adding thorn whip but not the rest. Nathan Graves uses the hunter whip and magic cards to achieve those other forms. It's not something Belmont would be able to do.

That all being said I think the 4 forms are the perfect amount and set to have. And additional beyond that aren't necessary.

Add a basic quick attack with the dagger and maybe a variation of the whip with the thorn whip, making it evolve into the ice whip and into a holy whip or something like that with less damage than the chain and plasma whip but with increased range (you could check circle of the moon for some ideas too)

Balance update might be out by the end of the week, might be slightly longer. We keep finding things to improve.

The second half of the big balance update is going to be a game changer. But it'll be a bit since we are finding new and innovative ways to buff moves. That and bugs. But mostly crazy good changes. We're testing stuff and oh boy, it's good Also one final last button. The last button Belmont will ever get, 99.999% sure of that. It's a good one.

After the big ol balance update part 2 we're going to pivot to the big achievement update which will hopefully have minimal balance changes.

There will be 25 secret achievements. The more you unlock the more rewards you will get. Free cosmetics and whatnot. We are reaching critical peakness.

On top of the bug fixes and balance changes listed there were a few other misc bug fixes not listed. One of which being that the Headband should now be properly color-able via styles. It's not colored in predictions or the portrait but in actual gameplay it is colored.

Uninstall all mods and check the integrity of your game files. Effectively reinstall the game. The only cause of a null issue can be a cache issue and the only way to fix it normally is to clear said cache. So if it isn't working something is deeply wrong. However, this version of the character has been out and played regularly by people for months now with no crippling bugs found.

As mentioned before I have no way to help you guys if you don't give me more to work with beyond that. But knowing what I know the above is certain to be true.
