If you want to work around the issue locally for the time being, check out how other mods with custom weapon categories do their localization. They'll have a "Localization" folder that contains a "Amalgamation.int" file, which will have something along these lines in it: (at the bottom)
[UIWeaponCat]
psiamp="Psi Amp"
You can copy that over to affected specs, change the values to cover your categories, and everything should work on the next launch.
The name of the weapons is not shown. Instead it sais:
?DEU?Amalgamation.UIWeaponCat.stimgun? (for Pharmacist)
?DEU?Amalgamation.UIWeaponCat.psiamp (for Psion and ElectroWizard)
Any idea someone?
Maybe there are more classes with this issue, I am still at the beginning of the campaign. But the problem seems to be the same.
