This is from vanilla props and decals. It adds a new menu to the structure category allowing you to create decals.

Yes, I will be updating it soon, just finished building a pc and setting up arch linux for the first time. Will be applying a fix hopefully by EOW.

Kinda worked it out by shuffling around a crate. It seemed to want to drop into the bottom left corner of the 2x2, and just shuffling it around to give it a clear path helped its pathfinding I guess (even though it went over the crate to drop off). maybe some weird interaction with PUAH and while you're up, but nothing popped up in the logs.
also agreed, large crates are AMAZING for stockpiling on my gravship. big thanks to vin

Make sure the storage location that the lifter is hauling to is not occupied/used by a pawn at that moment. This mod uses the vanilla hauling logic, if the above isn't the problem verify it isn't a mod conflict.

Yes this is a vanilla rimworld issue that can be replicated with vanilla shelves. It occurs to anything 2x2 in size and not rotatable. I'm going to push a patch for this on all my mods after I get my new pc system running. In the mean time the other storage options work. Odyssey has introduced a litney of bugs we're having to sort. Thankfully the devs have already resolved some of them that impacted my mods recently.

i just built a pair of steel metal crates C on my gravshit and upon launching and relanding they just exploded and spread their content across the entire floor

This mod is a direct adaptation of a another mod. So naturally the textures are derived and limited to that source. I don't know how you'd expect a wooden box to update, other than maybe after X stacks of items maybe more boxes appear. The main goal of this mod was to add bulk storage for big store rooms that aren't plain in design and offer some creativity in placement and texture to give that lived in and used feel. See the final screenshot.

Regarding the main advantages, is importantly major TPS gains (especially in late game colonies). The mod description was made to explain what the difference is between the adaptive storage framework and the old LWM's deep storage mod.

If you want to see a good example of updating textures I'd recommend you look are my warehouse storage mod or one of the mods made by Reel, sbz, Phaneron, or QSJ. All of them have updating textures. I recommend subscribing to your favorite 2-3 of these storage mods.

ok i'm kinda confused about the advantage over Deep Storage, and the 'seriously cool features like graphics that update as you store items'

because i can't find how to display items that are stored without mouse over or clicking.

I think something is still weird. Metal Crate C and Bundle C at least still break or shift on gravship rotation. Game is fully updated, I've unsubscribed and resubscribed. Switched on and off the unstable branch. Started a totally new save, still happens. The 2x2's from Reel's Storage work fine though.

Adding rotation as hacky workaround has the disadvantage of it not being removable without causing rotation and in turn position to get reset once on loading

Mod Author, you should edit the mod description really quickly with a message at the top telling people what the bug is and how to avoid it. It sounds like the kind of thing that will be fixed eventually but until then people can now (and maybe we can make a patch to set all the 2x2s to rotatable so they don't slide and just have the same sprite for every rotation)

Rimworld's unstable branch, selectable through the betas menu on properties, has the odyssey bug fixed. It happens on vanilla shelves when editing those to be 2x2 and unrotatable.

Lore reason for containers moving is they aren't bolted down so they move around and break when landing

This is a bug with lundeon effecting all mods right now. The devs need to fix this.Its been reported. It's reproducible by changing the vanilla shelf xml to have a size of (2,2) and rotatable false. Ludeon is aware

(Temporary) solution to help with disappearing 2x2 boxes on gravships (until it get's fixed by Ludeon):
If you can rotate the box and it swivels around your cursor, it is safe. If you can't rotate it, then the container will vanish.

Okay I managed to track it down. It was due to Faster Game Loading, with the second mod option enabled it causes some of the textures to white out. "Prevent graphic and icon loading during startup and load them gradually during playing."

I actually think your metal boxes are just behaving weirdly. I dont see that on my end. Make sure its another mod? Try removing chunks of your modlist.

Are they kind of like white boxes? Could be a cache issue with DDS textures following an update. Try loading the mod alongside performance fish + prepatcher + fishery, and run ToDDS on them. Then two game reloads should fix it. This happens to me when I work on the mod. (I'm also still on 1.5, not a 1.5 issue)

Hey there, still doing my run on 1.5 seem some of the crates are showing up with white textures, the 1x1 metal crate and 2x1 wood crate. Tried moving the mod to the bottom of my load order but seems it still is showing white.

its funny that i also thought it was a hard landing and i blew out the side of my ship because of it. It was getting annoying and i noticed that one identical box moved a space while the other exploded. Which brought me here. Anyways 10/10 still recomend lol

2x2 wooden crate works fine for me every time tho, also there are Errors showing up when this happens (forgot to copy but u will see it on ur own)

And i dont think its only about Adaptiva storage, even a Grav Wall disappeared from my ship (and there was no storage units next to it) so Idk if its not problem with Devs since even their own structures vanish, altho I dont think they would realise DLC without checking that

Yeah, objects food roller in my "warehouse storage" mod which is 1x2 are perfectly safe right now, gotta give it some time.
