Amazing mod
EvLSteveDave 7 Sep, 2022 @ 3:38pm
2-4 hours into this mod you'll hit a place called "The Labyrinth". This area spawns a never ending train of mobs you must shlog through per tile. At one point I got stuck on a single tile as a train of over 100 turtles and mushroom guys slowly filled in to be killed. This took over an hour of my time just constantly fighting these mobs. I had hundreds of turtle meat. I went from level 4-5 to 10-11 in this time with my party... I can't seem to kill things fast enough to beat respawn no matter what I do.

I really wish the author of this mod would make this extremely gimmicky and fucked up part of their mod well advertised. I'm miffed as fuck that I spent 3-4 hours on this mod before reaching this extremely terrible part. It's like the guy drove his little train off a cliff on purpose to spite his players or something. No idea why this is part of the mod. People openly admit to console cheating just to get past this part.

Nice Map. but you might wanna post a Walthrough for us "Soft Brains"
Toni-technaclaw 28 Jan, 2022 @ 5:12pm
@Crotalidae Did you Grab the fish in the moat? Theirs alot of them in there
crotalidae75 28 Sep, 2020 @ 12:51pm
I quickly ran out of food after going through the dungeon with the rats, after I fought the gate captain skeleton. There doesn't seem to be enough food in this level.

Otherwise it's pretty good, but I still don't like having to worry about starving characters.

m8; trying to enjoy your map; but slime puzzle i m struck; i completed many mods, but seriously (no offense) this is the most stupid puzzle of all time; i spend 10 mins surviving , did all combinations and such ( i am a veteran player) , no progress.

Cool
Nyrella 30 Apr, 2018 @ 2:16am
how can i open the doors of the trade center? did i miss something?
Gregorski  [author] 16 Nov, 2017 @ 10:41pm
@GK it's been a long time since I've been in the editor, but if memory serves: one gold key is in the small wooded area to the left as soon as you enter the field overlooking the castle, and another is in the puzzle in the beginning part of the sewers underneath the ruins to the right. The gear key is likely somewhere in the mines? I recall there being a mine entrance on the surface that is merely a shortcut for convenience. The very last thing you mention sounds like my first sewer puzzle. That is intentional, if I'm understanding you.
Ibleedsalt 16 Nov, 2017 @ 8:20pm
ever figure those things out, GK?
gk00003 31 Oct, 2017 @ 11:43am
can't find the other gold key to open the maelroth guard post - where is it? I also can't find the gear key to open the area to what looks like the mines and the door in the room after you go down the stairs to the left of the stairs in the sewers closes too quickly ater you press the button on the other side of the room
Krunz 26 Jun, 2017 @ 2:05pm
@Gregorski Ive just started playing your mod. im stuck in a ruins area, and flipping the switch that closed the door behind me does nothing. I need help please.
:steamsalty:
sachatara 1 Mar, 2017 @ 6:21am
hi im stuck after rat boss in sewer dont know what to do also killed the skeleton guy boss tthx !!
GMGOD 17 Jan, 2017 @ 4:02pm
Yeah, I got into the maintenance room and fought the spiders. Must be a glitch with the map. of course that leaves the castle with a skeleton warrior to get through. I might try this mod with another party to see if it is a missing part of the bridge or a glitch with my game.
Gregorski  [author] 17 Jan, 2017 @ 8:03am
I might have made a mistake in not completing that section. Or there may be a small logic flaw. Either way, that entire area has been mostly optional as a challenge, to get some nicer loot. The lever that controls that is located back in the larger room, I think it's on the opposite end of where you initially came in, and it had a spider in it. If I'm recalling correctly, that is. The maintence access room is hidden really carefully as well, so refer to this in case that's blocking progress Immediately at the end of the bridge taking you above the initial sewer room, there is a hidden button on the left wall within the light that shows through. It'll get you into maintence, but not sure if that fixes the issue with the bridge. In any case, you could leave the sewers and still finish the map. Sorry for the trouble.
GMGOD 16 Jan, 2017 @ 8:47pm
It's the one across the water that has the ratling guard on the other side (near the note about the maintenance key). It's missing a section in the middle (roughly) that prevents me from getting across it. I think I've searched every part of the sewer without success and pulled every lever I could find.
Gregorski  [author] 16 Jan, 2017 @ 6:59pm
If I'm recalling the right spot (the vertically layered puzzle), you won't ever need to actually cross it.
GMGOD 16 Jan, 2017 @ 6:57pm
Ok, I must be stupid or something. I can't seem to find a way over that magic bridge in the sewer area (the one with the missing section). Don't tell me I have to kill the gate keeper first because that... will be painful.
Gregorski  [author] 16 Jan, 2017 @ 2:52pm
@gecko Hah, nope. Totally made up, but that's interesting!
ClankyPlank 15 Jan, 2017 @ 1:00am
@Gregorski Maël Roth, he's a marketing consultant. Thought you were making a reference but appartenly I was mistaken.
Gregorski  [author] 14 Jan, 2017 @ 1:07pm
@gecko That must be coincidence, I didn't base it off of anything. What are you referring to?
ClankyPlank 14 Jan, 2017 @ 4:33am
Maelroth, expansive trade tunnels... I see what you did there.
Gregorski  [author] 3 Jan, 2017 @ 12:27am
@Cisco2950 I really appreciate your... appreciation for the mod! As per usual another player is having an issue with the infamous slime puzzle, perhaps due to my lack of hinting at the solution. Please refer to the following to complete the slime puzzle: Simply walk on the pressure plates as much as you can until the gate opens, while taking as little damage from the slime as possible. There is an initial number that you decrease by hitting your pads, and the slime increases with its pads. When that number is zero, the gate opens. It's a matter of keeping yourself alive in the meantime.

Thanks again for playing, it's always great knowing people have enjoyed my work.
Cisco2950 2 Jan, 2017 @ 10:39pm
So I have palyed this several times. Great mod. I am now playing the game with my daugther. She created the party and makes sure I find everything. I have made it through the Slime puzzle before 3 times, but never wrote it down as to what I did. I am in it now and we can't get past it. I have tried the different combination of pads, and just being patient and letting the slime beat me up. So is this a timer, or does the slime and the party need to be on different pads or the same pad or what?
Gregorski  [author] 6 Aug, 2016 @ 9:49am
@Ron_HH That's understandable. I wasn't able to balance out the difficulty curve as well as some other people probably could, mostly due to how Grimrock handles the preview of maps. I couldn't retain a single party or modify them at will to experiment with how strong some areas were without playing through the game multiple times. Thanks for playing, and my apologies for any frustration.
Ron_HH 6 Aug, 2016 @ 3:09am
It's a very fine mod, had many hours much fun, although, I must confesss, some of the boss fights I got through only with cheating...
Gregorski  [author] 1 Jan, 2016 @ 4:36pm
Hah, seems most people going through stop dead right there. Nah, no puzzle or specific combo. But you do have to work with the pads, that's all. Thanks for playing :D
bantly_robert 1 Jan, 2016 @ 4:17pm
Have been working various combos on "the survivor's pace is methodical" puzzle and travelling very slowly (and diseased, lol) and haven't been able to get the exit door to open. With 3 pads for the slime and 2 pads and a blank for the party, there are only so many possible combinations. Hint appreciated :steamhappy: and l saved before entering : - )
Cheers / Robert

ps: good mod, like the underground city idea
kingrilian 4 Dec, 2015 @ 12:36pm
In the ??? land - can the chest be opened? or is it the end
Gregorski  [author] 7 Nov, 2015 @ 8:37pm
Huh, I thought I updated the mod. I just reuploaded to be sure. And for the scroll, since you can activate it without beating the game, I will post it here. Bring a well levelled party in, it should save your time.

SPOILERS HERE. VIEW ONLY IF YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY STUCK ON FINDING THE SCROLL.
Rise early to the shadow of the crow's nest;
then keep a watchful eye towards the west.

It is difficult to return; be prepared.
Strong Man Gaming 7 Nov, 2015 @ 5:41pm
So, got through it again. My scroll stills says the sand thing and I can't find the spot. :steamsad: However, the labyrinth is now great, a new team could definitely handle it (I think). :steamhappy:
Strong Man Gaming 7 Nov, 2015 @ 4:38pm
I never got around to it, but I also think there could be more guns with more ammo. If other guns or I never found them. :steamsad: So, yeah, my alchemist gunner was running around with an empty gun. :meow:
Gregorski  [author] 28 Oct, 2015 @ 9:49pm
Hah, by chance it's similar. Maybe you're meant to inherit Maelroth? lol you might need a bit of a touchup before living there.
Xaelroth 28 Oct, 2015 @ 8:54pm
Haah, for a second there I thought my username wasn't as original as I thought ;p
Gregorski  [author] 26 Oct, 2015 @ 4:14pm
Hm, the rat swarms must be bugged in the game itself, I've done nothing to their behavior myself. And no, you're not supposed to go in immediately, but due to your double mage party composition, it makes sense that you can get in so quickly. It's not a big deal, the area is inspired by Dark Souls' way of making an area hard and not telling you, but simply trying to be a challenge if you're not prepared. You did prepare, so it worked out for you :steamhappy:

It's awesome seeing so many new people taking a stab at the map, I understand if it's a rough journey but I'm okay with polishing things up based off of feedback.

The one thing I'm really surprised with is that no one has been negative about item placement. I thought what I had was horrible. I'm glad that no one hits a brick wall with what's given though.
Strong Man Gaming 26 Oct, 2015 @ 4:13am
Well, it's a good mod (still going through it again to try and get the new puzzle for the secret), but I want to ask if the Ratling tunnels are something you go through right off the bat, I did it, pretty much because I had 2 mages, but it took awhile to kill the Ratling Boss. The loot it gives early is very nice though. :steamhappy: Also, the rat swarms (the tiny rats that attack you) don't wake up if you sleep, meaning easy mana since they don't really do enough for you to bother waking you, heck, my characters could gain some health, so yeah, not sure if it's a bug or something, but I think they should be changed slightly. :dante:
Gregorski  [author] 25 Oct, 2015 @ 8:07pm
I added a sentence to the description last night after reading your feedback.
"This adventure has been created with a new party in mind."
Sorry about this. The mod was created to be difficult, but possible if you play carefully.
Strong Man Gaming 25 Oct, 2015 @ 8:32am
I still need to know wethere it's for a new team or somewhat experienced team, again, I got my shit wrekt earlier when I was first going through it. :sectoid:
Gregorski  [author] 24 Oct, 2015 @ 10:15pm
Based on difficulty of finding the secret area, the scroll clue has been completely remade, and should be more of a puzzle as well as being a clearer set of directions along with some other elements. You also no longer need to finish the map to trigger it. I also removed the rat boss spawner, there is only one now. Please update the game and report feedback if you have any. Thanks for all the help so far everyone :steamhappy:
Strong Man Gaming 24 Oct, 2015 @ 11:25am
Also, I have no clue how to activate the scroll secret. Threw it on the beach. Couldn't find it. :steamsad:
Strong Man Gaming 24 Oct, 2015 @ 8:09am
(I'm running on an older version of the mod) I think the difficulty needs to be reworked a bit, I started with a new level 1 team, half the time I did fine, the other half I struggled. I went to the Ratling den first and was able to kill the Ratling boss (by running around the boxes/him). I was able to easily kill the guard. I went through the castle fine... but then I got to the labyrinth. I had to kill over 10 Ratling bosses there (I cheated in crystal shards of healing). Everytime the Ratling boss hit, I died or was put at around 10 heatlh. The caverns with sneks and skellys was average difficulty, the wizard dumpstered my team, and the ogre was pretty easy. I think the mod is good, but I would prefer if you added a recommendation of what level yout team should be (because at parts is average, very easy, or really difficult, if not impossible). The puzzles were clever. Overall it's a good mod, but needs some difficulty reworks. I'm still looking for the secret areas.:Lee:
a.elfwind 18 Oct, 2015 @ 4:11am
Never mind, found it.
a.elfwind 18 Oct, 2015 @ 4:06am
Hi, maybe I'm a bit dense, but in the mines, how do I open the doors there? I don't see a pull chain or any type of button... thanks. Goes for all three of the doors i nteh area.
Gregorski  [author] 17 Oct, 2015 @ 9:55am
Made the fixes based on your feedback, they *actually* work now. Also, did the demons have too much hp in your opinion? I see I have the value set at 4,000 each, was this a tedious fight?[\spoiler]
Gregorski  [author] 15 Oct, 2015 @ 9:57am
Make sure you've updated the map through the button at the bottom of the description in the custom map menu. I will take another look of things are still broken. I appreciate the testing :)
Kitsune 15 Oct, 2015 @ 12:31am
The gold key lock by the castle entrance still doesnt work oddly. You can walk through the wall still too. The bridge dissapears from the last boss arena so you fall down to the ground level and can't get back up (tried to go back to read the stuff again haha). I'll keep you updated, thats from the top of my head. The fire demons were diffuclt but fun!
Gregorski  [author] 14 Oct, 2015 @ 10:09pm
Awesome, glad to hear that! I didn't have many testers, so if you could list things that you've found with a spoiler tag, I'd like to see what you've uncovered. Not every secret you find, but anything you find cool, I suppose.

I worked on a sequel for a few months after releasing this, and even though it's extremely incomplete, I'd like to hear your thoughts on it. I believe it is much better in many regards, but I'm not sure if I'll get around to finishing it anytime soon.
Kitsune 14 Oct, 2015 @ 12:09am
I plan to replay it to find some of the stuff I missed ect. Maybe this time i'll be lucky and find more secrets :steamhappy:
Gregorski  [author] 13 Oct, 2015 @ 9:50pm
Just deleting my previous comment to prevent spoiling.

Find a spot where the sand is deep and do as it says. There is a designated spot on the beach, you just need to look a bit. There is only one of it in that small area. I updated the game to make this easier, but you will not get the update unless you restart (don't do that :3)
Kitsune 13 Oct, 2015 @ 2:53pm
A beach and a scroll. Didnt really understand where to throw it, threw it around the beach for an hour got bored and called it a day. Hah :steamhappy:
