Thanks for the awesome mod, it removed lots of frustration when building power infrastructure.

Since the update 7 launch is planned for the 8th of may, I have updated the titel and description to include some context. I will not be updating this, so as stated before, thank you for using the mod and enjoying it! <3

Indeed indeed! To maybe post some more information for now. I will keep the mod as is for now since it has been updated to be in the base game. At a later date I will probably include a depricated tag in the titel to indentify this mod is not updated anymore, but to keep it in case anyone wants to use it for an older version for the game. Thats it, thanks everyone that have been using the mod, hope you enjoyed it!

Thanks for making this Tobbert! My partner actually quit playing Timberborn before this existed because the lack of this tool made building so frustrating. It's fantastic to have this option.

And as someone who struggles with motivation and overwork, I know how you feel. Maintaining free software brings expectation and pressure from a whole community. It's not right and I echo others in saying: take care of yourself first! :cozyjunimogreen:

as a player of timberborn, i appreciate your work tobbert. the vertical shafts and omni-directional mod are an absolute must in this game. thank you once again for the mods you create.
DracoDruid 7 Mar @ 1:05pm
Hey man!
Sorry to hear about the burnout! I'm wish you best of luck and health to get through it.
As for the rename: True, it's basically the "Omni-directional Powershaft". But that one is _really_ good. So yeah. Whenever you manage to update it, one way or another, its very much appreciated.
Stay healthy and take care of yourself, friend!
Tobbert  [author] 7 Mar @ 11:00am
Thank you @DracoDruid, I do plan on updating this mod, though I would like to rename and redo the thumnail is to just be the universal powershaft, as after the introduction of vertical power shafts into the base game, this mod is basicly that one shaft. I just haven't gotten around to this one because I'm at home with a burnout and concetrating regarding modding is just hard and therefore focused on ladder to maintain and the other mods just slowly updating to update 7 to be able to release them when update 7 to stable is announced.

Also I know a lot of people appreciate the work and I think you for repeating it. I dont always respond, like I did here, but my dad always tells me that whetever you do, 25% will hate you for it. So most often I ignore negatieve comments and focus on the mods instead. Thank you again! <3

How about asking the modders nicely instead of just blurping out "broken in experimental" over and over again?

@Tobbert: Your work is very much appreciated. If you find the time, maybe you can comment on whether you plan on patching this for U7 Experimental, waiting for it to enter the release branch, or are done with it.
Thank you and have a nice weekend!

Is it possible to make these available to the Whitepaw Faction again?
Tom Jackal 29 Oct, 2024 @ 4:01pm
really cool mod! though it is strange that the straight to vertical shaft is strictly better than the vanilla upward and downward shafts, maybe make it a bit more expensive? +1 gear cost perhaps?
Positronic_Matrix 29 Oct, 2024 @ 3:05pm
I have a feature request.

Could you please create a block that has a horizontal power shaft going through it? I was working on a build today that could have benefited from passing power directly through a dam but had to build up and around it.

It seems like this could be feasible, as the new Pipes mod implemented a horizontal pipe embedded in a block to pass water through a dam.
crashfly 27 Oct, 2024 @ 9:09am
@[BF] matthewmullen91 - there is already a "universal power shaft" that can be put down to do just that.
[BF] matthewmullen91 26 Oct, 2024 @ 12:29pm
Instead of having several different power shafts, is it possible to make a universal one that changes based on what it can connect to so that you don't have to sever and rejoin power connections just to add a new building to the power network? Maybe you could add extract to the material requirements to explain why it can change shape as required? Diagonal connections would be another cool feature if that could be implemented too

I modified the file myself and solved it. It's a great mod. Thank you
诺米 16 Oct, 2024 @ 2:24am
@crashfly -- Also provided feedback. But when two mod were used together, this mod failed.
crashfly 16 Oct, 2024 @ 1:57am
@诺米 - sounds like you should report that to the "GreedyBuilders" mod then as this mod works perfectly fine for me without that mod.

For those complaining that it isn't needed... Update 6 adds 3 items. Top and bottom shaft, Top and 1 side shaft, Bottom and 1 side shaft.
This means you can't have any form of junction with Vanilla vertical power shafts.
This mod adds extra variants, so you can go up and down, AND out the side, multiple sides even, at the same time. Very useful.
Tobbert  [author] 11 Oct, 2024 @ 11:42pm
Incorrect, this mod was changed as stated in the description: "This mod adds 2 new Power Shafts. These power shafts will allow you to transfer power vertically, but also completely dynamically!". I wanted to change the name/image, but didnt get around to it before release.
Букля 11 Oct, 2024 @ 4:44pm
i suppose mod no longer needed after update 6
Tobbert  [author] 17 Sep, 2024 @ 12:42am
As stated in the listing, make sure to click the link and make sure you are running Rosetta mode. If after reading the help page you still get a crash, share a as detailed report as possible as otherwise I cannot help you.
hobbes.cm 16 Sep, 2024 @ 12:53pm
Hi Tobbert, thank s for the mod it's one of my favorites. This mod still crashes my game after the last update. I'm running on a Macbook Pro M2 if that makes a difference.
Tobbert  [author] 14 Sep, 2024 @ 3:57pm
Mod is now also updated as I found time. Enjoy! :D
Panahasi 11 Sep, 2024 @ 10:21am
I saw in the Ladder Mod that Tobbert is updating that. Hopefully he gets to the universal shaft also, it's a handy feature but with the Universal Levee and Vertical Shaft these are not really needed anymore. I think spending time on more important mods is better spent. Thanks for all you do @Tobbert
cmb-msn 9 Sep, 2024 @ 8:24am
Thanks Josiah the Wolf! Tobbert probably has better things to to do than listen to us whine about not updating mods  Thanks Tobbert, for making this!
Josiah the Wolf 9 Sep, 2024 @ 7:26am
Half of the original mod are apart of the base game. This mod only adds the universal shaft (provides power in every direction) and the vertical shaft with one side output.

The main issue currently is Tobbert hasn't update any of his mods since the last update, so they are all broken.
amazingronaldo 8 Sep, 2024 @ 9:50am
@cmb-msn It does appear that this mod has been incorporated into the experimental branch? I disabled and unsubscribed to this mod and I see the vertical shafts in the game still.
cmb-msn 7 Sep, 2024 @ 12:20pm
Was this mod absorbed into the base game? I see _some_ of the buildings in my game with this mod disabled, but not all.
Arixie 5 Sep, 2024 @ 7:31am
Hey! Love the mod - Is it possible to get an update on it ? Timberborn had an update that is now holding me back to play. Thanks :)
