like if I choose the ghoul, it says I'll spawn as the said class but it won't spawn me anywhere

for some reason everytime I'm a zombie and I change classes I just can't spawn in and I'm left to wait till the wave ends, once another wave starts I can be a zombie for once but if I die I can't spawn in.

UPDATE

I changed zs_rewards_* commands to set weapon classes and added zs_rewards_*_threshold to control the amount kills needed to achieve a new level.

Adapt your settings, plz. :gmod:

Take a look at their commands, like leadbot_quote. Also if you spawn bots midgame they'll become zombies.

Add slots and decrease the bot quota if you enabled it. I'm already updating the bots so it won't happen anymore (full rewrite).

Changes from v1.11 Fix 5 -> v1.11 Fix 6

* Added UI scaling (proper 1080p and maybe 4k support)
* Added simple anti-stuck script (some maps have bad spawns)
* Changed all SteamID() calls to SteamID64(), as recommended by GMod wiki
* Changed how the mapvote addon is managed so it's nicer to use
* Changed some panels to be readable and properly fit the screen space
* Fixed bots always joining as zombies after one of them was killed
* Fixed last human warning sometimes failing on news players
* Fixed initial zombie animations being incorrectly set sometimes
* Fixed zombies were able to grab props (Reported by Tony Engino Dosky)
* Fixed zs_npcs_count_as_kills being ignored
* Fixed zs_allow_map_npcs and zs_npcs_count_as_kills not being adapted to singleplayer
* Fixed some weapon animations (Ported from Zombie-Survival-v1.11-Fix-Negative-One-Squared, by Tony Engino Dosky)

I'm not sure what bugs you are talking about, the gamemode seems to be running fine here. If you play it, don't forget to disable other addons, as ZS' code is incompatible with sandbox stuff.

Since this project is a restoration there isn't much that can be done other than repairs, but I know of at least these things that need adjustments:

1) I'm not sure my damage detection fixes are good enough. I simply got the original concept and tried to better check for the right areas with better ranges. I left some test functions in the code so we can render the areas to understand what's going on.

2) Some panels don't have height limit, they can get pretty big on 4k screens.

3) Panels don't rescale for big or small monitors.

4) There's a known bug of bots spawing in the incorrect team because they are indexed by steamid.

5) The bots code needs a looooooooot of love.

I don't have the time to write these issues right now, I'm just reading some comments in a Uber going to finish some jobs. Feel free to help if you want to, my main goal in GMod now is to continue my map gm_construct 13 beta.

You should put up some issues on the GitHub page!

I know that some of it is people will want to rewrite large portions of the spaghetti codebase/litter the code with comments instead of actual improvements, but even so, it would be awesome to contribute to an awesome project like this by knowing what needs work!

You could just reject/ignore the PRs that don’t follow the key concepts ;)

I also played ZS back then on a server called ChillZone Zombie Survival. Those were good days, but they were way too long ago.

I have a zip somewhere with their old gamemode from like v1.05-1.11/15 and your fix definitely makes my long standing goal of fixing their old gamemode way more tenable.

I agree it's a good idea to expose the weapons selection but it's also a lot of work to make it like you suggested, I simply don't have the time right now. I could add a command so you can rewrite the weapon class name to the ones you prefer, it's much easier to me. The prices are already configurable through console commands.

Fair, one such addon to enable ZS 2.0 would be neat if possible at some point, but if not that's completely okay, I've been having my fun with this anyway. :steamthumbsup:

It's ZS v2, from 2009. We have access to a zip with one of these releases (public, in a GitHub repo) but for now I don't intend to port any other feature to this restoration. I'd an extra addon to enable zs 2, btw.

For me, ZS Classic is basically any version of ZS prior to the addition of the point system (using crates and all of that) as far as having to buy stuff from crates goes, never been a big fan of that. All in all great good old ZS fix, really been enjoying playing this thus far. I began playing in a ZS server back in 2009 that had barricading, waves, but you could earn weapons from just getting kills on the go rather than having to get them from crates, and for me that was pretty cool. All in all this is a pretty solid recreation from an earlier version that I (sadly) never got to play in its original iteration back in the day, one that I hold respect for.

Will there be a config to enable waves usually seen in ZS? Waves did exist in late-stage classic ZS after all and I only began playing classic when waves were already introduced, so that'd be cool to see!

Yes.

If you are playing on singleplayer, the zombies will be spawned as NPCs by some maps or you can use the leadbots extra addon to add bots with commands. In the near future I'm going to make the leadbots auto spawn too.

If you are playing on multiplayer, you obviously need other people to play as humans or zombies, but you can also use map NPCs and leadbotd the same way you would on singleplayer.

Ok. I can't send changes to fix the zombie selection with bots right now because I'm travelling, but Tony is updating the bot code like crazy. It's improving very fast.
