@MisterMatt I'm glad you like it.

There would be 2 options that would cause this:
1. You've added a new connection to the system that is letting it skip the 3 sorters on the ore side.

2. Something happened in the projection process that added some sorters with no settings on the ore side.

You could turn some of the sorters off to trouble shoot, or check a creative paste to see what the settings should be. I did use it with build and repair recently and tested the system very heavily without any looping. The ones coming directly out of the refinery don't need any filters, but the ore and ingots ones do.

Hi, just to let you know, i built this today and it's a great design, but there is a loop with the components, eg. i put in motors to be sorted to the container and it kept looping it through the "Motor Sorter"

it's a nice build, and i'm making my own work around currently

This is still working great today, using it with the Satisfactory Scenario here:

@Superagent66

I think loops may have something to do with legacy conveyor code. At one time, conveyors took glass to make, as the plan was to have each item rendered as it went through the conveyor. This never came about, but the code is still there, and a loop will technically create and endless, well, loop, of items going around in the conveyor system, IIRC.

i am glad you started with the scaled down version kev... lol

Ah, yeah... I make things that make life in space easier for ME, if others find them useful, thats just a bonus. I never sort raw materials, i refine everything (yes, even stone) then sort the the second tier materials, and components. I find this conserves a little room. :steamhappy:

@blackknight24 Thanks for these. It's tough balancing competing use cases and priorities. My rule is, if I need to drag ore around to prioritize, then I might as well not have sorting. So I wouldn't do a single refinery clump. I could break it up into like 3-4 clumps, but then thats guessing at what people would use, like I personally wouldn't want to clump uranium with anything or platinum since I'm always running it, but thats not true for everyone. With the current design if I wanted to take the down direction from people I could move most of the conveyor lines to bottom and thin it up by 7 blocks, I'd have to add some support blocks and put some of the junctions back in to make that easier. It wouldn't make people that don't like this design use it though. My original version had a floor, so maybe I'd do the floor and some limited decoration at same time.

Took me a minute to remember how to post blueprints on here... but these may help tighten things up for ya. Check them out.

honestly... its flat, that makes it too big to be viable... try a version that uses all three dimensions.

(build it like someone crumpled it into a ball, or rolled up like a carpet; so it takes less space)

Plus... you have dedicated processing machines for each branch... i guarantee some will be sitting idle. If you have three machines making the products, THEN sort them out from there, you'll hack a chunk off of this thing that will be quite noticeable.
KevMeUp  [author] 2 Jul, 2024 @ 9:22pm
@blackknight24 Thanks! And you're right, I wouldn't recommend it for smaller footprints or pcu limited servers usually. Can you think of other versions that would be useful? I have trouble deciding where to draw the line between a big unsorted clump and this :)

but good for a basic sorter demonstration.
blackknight24 2 Jul, 2024 @ 8:32pm
looks extremely bulky... very space inefficient.
KevMeUp  [author] 1 Jul, 2024 @ 10:10am
@MrFox there are essentially 3 lines, 1 pulls ore, 1 pulls ingots, 1 pulls comps. They are all filtered from each other so no line pulls more than one type.
KevMeUp  [author] 1 Jul, 2024 @ 10:07am
@MrFox Wheres there loops? Nothing is looping in the design. If we define that as items that repeatedly go through the same place. Maybe you mean something else?
Superagent66 1 Jul, 2024 @ 8:40am
@MrFox Conveyor loops? How are those bad?
MrFox 1 Jul, 2024 @ 7:36am
Cool idea.. BUT YOU HAVE LOOPS! loops are bad..

Thanks! @MintScroll @DarthWarlock @Allmybase411

@SnakeAttack43 If you're manually dropping things off from somewhere else you can put a container on the assembler line and drop things in there to be auto sorted. I've been considering that myself. I have not noticed an issue with things skipping sorter with this setup, I'd make sure you're dropping into large containers though or just setting things in without the alt middle. In my early designs I did notice that having sorter > conveyor > sorter > container would skip the second sorting if both were on pull.
SnakeAttack43 30 Jun, 2024 @ 12:53pm
I think this is great, I do have a question. So the ALT Middle Mouse Button deposits inventory into storage, but there is a bug/issue where it ignores sorters and goes to any cargo container. Does your system have this issue?
Allmybase411 30 Jun, 2024 @ 9:48am
I think I have found a new favorite blueprint!
DarthWarlock 30 Jun, 2024 @ 5:56am
ok didnt know i needed this until now its gonna be a huge help.
MintScroll 29 Jun, 2024 @ 9:12pm
omg I love it
