That's an odd one, but as long as it's working, I won't complain.
Thank you @Dreamer for letting me know.

It let me become a shieldmaiden with a county as well as a vassal. But I think it is perfect like that.

Love you

@Dreamer Yes. As long as you control a duchy or larger, or are a landless adventurer, you can use the decision.
Dreamer 4 Mar @ 3:18pm
Hey. Does this mean you can now take it as a vassal as well? :3

Apologies everyone for the extremely long downtime and broken mod.
It has now been fixed, and updated to account for landless adventurers. The requirement has also been changed from being an independent ruler to holding a dutchy, or higher, ranked title.

@Lemon I believe so, yes.

Hi, if I want to mod your mod for personal use to make the decision possible for vassals, would I just have to delete the "is independent ruler = yes" from the text file?

Making any decision Major or Minor is literally a yes no in the files. The difference is that people generally want to be playing a historically-plausable (ish) sandbox, that has interesting choices and motivations for the nations that undertake them.
It's not the actual decision that is hard to create, but the AI weights, motivations, thematic texts, balance effects, new casus beli, etc., that go with it.

Since you you dabbled in modding CK3 if I may ask a slightly unrelated question to the shieldmaiden mod: for me and I saw reddit post that made me believe I'm not alone with this is that major decisions are great to have and the more the better. It gives you something to work towards, they have RP value etc. I thought that when I come to the CK3 workshop and check the decisions mods that there'll be at least one grand mod that like give 100 different major decisions. To my understanding the only one that gives major decisions really is cultures expanded. Idk somehow I thought that there would be more and that I could overwhelm myself with decision mods. This makes me believe that either they are not as important/popular as I thought or that they are actually hard to mod in to the game. What do you think?

@Dreamer It would be positively simple if I was more familiar with the structures. Unfortunately, I'm not.
I've been trying to get help over on the modding discord, but it's very active with people asking for help, and very quite with those giving it. Your question quickly gets lost, and you need to wait a few days before you're allowed to repeat the same request.

Sorry for the late reply as well. :D
Thank you very much for answering!
I feared it's something easier said than done. D:

@Dreamer Apologies for the late reply. You have not been ignored.
Unfortunately, adding an outcome to the existing Petition Liege activity is both quote complex, and would require overriding it directly. This would make the change incompatible with any other mod that tried to add an outcome to the activity.
Some alternative will be required, such as a "Request Shieldmaiden" Decision. As for getting the AI to respond to the request in a reasonable way, I don't yet know.
I'll try and remember to dig into it when I have the time, but I'm likely to be fairly busy for the next two or three weeks, so it may be awhile.

Hey. Thank you so much for this mod! I'd love to also be able to take this action as a vassal, maybe petition your liege or something. Any chance of you adding something like that to this mod? D:

Version 1.0.01 (Reduced AI Restrictions):
- AI will now check if they can take the decision almost twice as often.
- AI can now take this decision if the are Arbitrary, Brave, Wrathful, or have a Tier 3 or better Martial Education, and they are not Craven.
- - This is instead of needing a trait and any martial Education.
- Base chance is now 30%.
- Chance is 100% if the person is Brave or has a Tier 4 or 5 Martial Education.

In my own game I observed that rulers of the dis-favoured gender were very rare, and the chances of them having a martial education and an appropriate trait was minuscule (not present at all in my game).
These changes should make many more AI rulers able to take the decision. The vast majority will do so within 10 years of achieving adulthood, or becoming ruler.
