Honestly this is great work. But I am curious what niche does the prospector fill? I see they have a bit more ammo than blasminers and have alot more damage. Are they supposed to be like a once per battle nuke button on a unit you want gone? Just asking cause I noticed their stats and they're better than blast miners and even the regiment of renown but since they are only 28 models it doesn't seem like they are made for battling even shitty chaff

I would like to ask why the number and health of early - stage troops are not very high? I tried the mod troops and found that they don't have any particular advantages over the original troops.

Thanks for the info. Pretty neat overall. Honestly I wouldn't have been surprised if some AI generation tools were used due to how common it is with modders nowadays.

I quite like the methods you listed instead, however.

Some techniques:
-capture a screenshot from the game and edit it
-use model viewer in Asset Editor (unofficial app made by Ole)
-find artwork online
-draw your own (the most difficult!)

Gotcha, and no worries. I was just curious on the tools used and all that. And you have a point about unit card quality being strange across this game series as a whole.

Through the years I've used multiple techniques and also some folks were kind enough to make cards for me. That is why you may see different art styles for my units. Then again even CA are not very consistent on that front. WH1 had great looking unit cards, WH2 had mediocre (especially some dlc packs), then the quality was again improved in WH3.

Old Guard are Longbeard/Great Weapon, as I recall. Deco, although you are right that they are surroundable, when you contrast that with Dwarf+++ durability and the fact that actually can be synergistic with being the premier stand and shoot faction... I definitely wondered before if they were undercosted.

quick question. What techs affect the Old Guard? Reading ingame skills, I think its slayer tech, but Im not sure.

I can increase the cost, just keep in mind they are a small count unit, 24 models iirc. Slayers are 80 or 100? This disadvantage can make a huge difference in various battle situations.

Hi, really good mod, but the Old Guard are far too cheap currently - they cost less than standard slayers. At the moment, it's hard to justify using anything but them for line infantry.
Would you consider increasing the cost? (Both recruitment cost and upkeep)?
They should be the most expensive infantry for the dwarves, with how good they are, but are priced incredibly low for what they are. Cheers.

It seems that Dreadnaught disappeared directly after being destroyed, as if the death animation was missing

And then one more random thought; any consideration to techs that can apply to Dreadnaught; neither artillery nor warmachine line includes it. It is VERY good at its job as a big rock as well, so if not I understand.

Exactly. I've made a few units like the Old Guard based on the Aspiring Champions. Prophets of Doom for Empire, Acolytes for Chorfs, Gouge-horns for Beastmen etc. They are all in the 900-1100 cost area, I want to stick to this pattern.

Absolutely fair, and I wish I knew a way to ensure that was fairly traded for. Cranking up cost even further probably isn't satisfying.

Not a bad idea, though they already perform quite well for their cost. Giving them additional abilities could potentially break them.

Are you willing to do Expanded Roster Bretonnia? There is a need of some infantry units other than squires and halberdiers and missle units who are better than low accuracy low discipline peasant archers and trebuchetes. Sad thing is that even Blessed trebuchetes seems to lost their uniqe skill Not on Ours!.

Extract the rar and throw the 2 files inside your data folder, then enable the submod in the mod manager. This will also make it available in the 3rd level of the Workshop (Foundry):
