By the way, I remember there was a really good guide on helping people get into creating Custom Origins. It has since been privated or removed.
Also, a useful tool for that endeavor is dead: MPN(I think it was called that). I'm just curious if you might have any pointers on how one should get into the Madness Modding Scene, though my specific interest is in Characters/Origins.

Hello. Been playing with this Origin and just wanted to tell you that I've been having a goddamn blast. Thank you for the good times. Quick question: Do you think the Melee-Teleport SPECIAL would be good for this Origin? I dunno. It seems a little odd that the Ancient Vampire cannot do such a thing - Then again, I suppose their focus is on Unarmed.

@White Noise Some enemies have a "siege" modifier programmed into them, which seems to override the vampire behavior. This siege modifier is what causes enemies to wait in those secluded parts of the map and attack in waves. Vampires inherit traits from the entity you converted(try converting a foundry berserker into a vampire, they still do their charge attack and will execute anything they grapple), so when the wave is initiated, the vampire will still be activated by the wave because they likely still have that modifier.

Take this with a grain of salt, this information is based exclusively on in-game testing and modest knowledge of how entity behaviors work in this game, rather than general programming knowledge or explicit knowledge of how oinko sploinko programmed this mod.

intentional or not, this is a good mechanic that kinda prevents you from infecting everyone like its plague inc so dont fix it if it was unintentional

mutiny is actually possible, i infected a guy in pit stop, he had the look of a vampire and abilities maybe but he still was an enemy, he was hitting a gas pump and he could revive when i was htiting him, something about being infected and STILL not going by whatever vampire rules or insticst or whatever is kinda funny to me

@Emperor of victoria Fredrick, Right click the game and go to 'Properties' and then 'betas,' and change it from None to the beta. And then go in game, lower left-hand corner at the main menu and click the cog symbol and enable your mods of choice there.

yo im pretty sure i know what causes softlocks on contracts. after a vampire spawned from an offering kill it converted an enemy and the level just stopped there. all allies had a heart above their head except those converted by vampires, so if you are somehow able to force converted enemies in rooms to be friendly to you then i think it'd work. (i dont know programming so it may absolutely not be accurate)

I believe that's just a vanilla issue and probably the reason grabs aren't usually available for player use. My best suggestion is not to mash grab

if you accidentally grab an enemy during their death animation (like as in they do like a back flip then ragdoll) and before their ragdoll you are stuck in a infinite wrestling match with an enemy that has no spam push force and inf hp forcing you to abort mission or restart

@Rubix the random, You're at a disadvantage during the grapple if you have not yet damaged their Corpus. Vanilla mechanic, so try to hurt them first and then grapple. Also you don't have to mash super fast, a steady pace is fine

I'd like to find a way to use the Zed grab without infecting enemies on death since that was the original intention anyway, but it's a bit above my head rn

You cannot address the infected enemies within Contracts, other than not infecting them like ya said or not having the ability to do so to begin with

I'm aware why the contracts have the bug, I'm just not sure how to address it. Luckily it's easy enough to not infect enemies since I made it into a command grab.

1. The pocket dimension for the Magiturge is hard coded, alongside all the lore stuff with it

2. The contracts (street missions) have this issue due to the infected enemies still being considered enemies but at the same time belonging to the same faction as the player making them unkillable by you via normal means

Both would work, it just needs to be rebalanced, that is all. also 2-3 imprints is more then enough. also that would work, i.e dps, tank, and ambush could all work.

If I do that, I'll probably upload it separately, since this is intended to be a very powerful Origin and seems to appeal to some people because of that. If I had to add an Imprint requirement, it'd probably be 4-5, but I don't really like requiring Imprints

I'll look into MAYBE separating various aspects of the Origin into a multi-origin pack. Vampires with different specialties and abilities/fighting styles maybe?

I've checked Magiturge's Origin & Character respectively and found nothing that differentiates them from anything else, beyond the SpecialSkill which is included in this Origin, so it has to be something else
