letting you know, There are some species exclusive traits now in the new DLC. for instance egg laying requires Avian. Animoid isn't included in any of those species so it doesn't get any new species traits, if you want you can go give the DLC traits the ability to apply to the animoid pop, but I get that's prolly a bit of work, and I am no coder.

I haven't tried the new update but unless they changed the way portraits are formatted again it should work fine. I'd recommend trying it, if it's broken it'll probably be another fairly easy fix

It should. I haven't played Stellaris recently but I don't think they've changed anything that would break it.
