Really awesome mod, every battle is chaotic and large, it's so cool! thank you for making this mod and keep up the good work!

I love that you made new goverment types with cool (big) bonuses and edicts that are many, varied, and rewarding! It makes me happy to use them, instead of meh. The units look beautiful, there are so many, basically I choose whatever types I feel like having and can build the armies that way. The Garrison building is a great concept to bring together a mix of extra "extra" units, so you have them tidily by the side, and you can go get them if and when you want them for variety, but they don't overcrowd the barracks.

I am a bit surprised x2 and x3 unit size mods exist haha, personally I'd prefer if all units had standard sizes. Instead of 150 militia (or 180?), I'd like everyone at 120 and 90, normal sizes, as I find it neater. I play with Large unit size, I think having 40 or 60 cavalry is a good number for example, while too many horses become hard to maneuver in retreating form cycle charging etc.

I agree that the units are kinda unbalanced, they are pretty strong, and I win easily, but a lot more of them die than I usually lose in battle, so perhaps it's just a matter of tipping past certain point when your lines are breached and morale starts to crumble and it's like a house of cards, like in real battles.

It works for me with 5 mods in order top-down: (LIG) Female General Reskin, RoR Ryse of Rome (Complete Edition), NordoPic 3D Unit Cards, Four Turns Per Year Mod ( 4TPY ), Lvgvs: Buildings And Cities (Final Version). I do not use anything else and I think the campaign map and battles look wonderful, no need for Orbis Terrarum or Acquarum, though they are beautiful mods as well.

I like the mod so far but i have a question , the starting units that you do not recruit seem to be stronger than the units you can initially create stat wise. Is this intended? does the enemies starting units and the units they recruit also have this issue?

Hi Team,

New update:

- Unit spacing has been reworked to make combat more epic and promote formation strategies.

- Added the "Shield Wall" formation for Roman Militia units.

- Changed the voices of female Roman units.

Strange, I don't have this problem myself.

The different steps to try:
1) Try RoR alone

2) Unsubscribe and resubscribe to the RoR mod and try again

3) Unsubscribe from all your mods and delete all folders in:
Steam -> steamapps -> workshop -> content -> 214950
Resubscribe to the RoR mod alone and try again

Did you follow these steps ?

Subscribe to mods and place the different mods like me in the Mod Manager before starting the game:

[1] - RoR - Ryse Of Rome - Units Size X2 or X3 [OPTIONAL]
[2] - RoR - Ryse Of Rome (Complete Edition)
[3] - RoR - Ryse Of Rome - (Translator) [OPTIONAL]
[4] - NordoPic: 3D Unit Cards [RECOMMENDED]
[5] - /!\ Others mods /!\ [Not recommended, try RoR first without any other external mods]

Why does the system tell me that this mod is outdated despite being updated? Plus, the game crashes every time I start a battle when using this mod.

Yes it's normal, most of the effects are already included in the mod, the file only contains the effects that cannot be included directly :RyseBlood:

With some modifications compared to those proposed individually, especially concerning the fire arrows, they now damage the ship directly because the Total War system protects the ships from destruction, now they can explode if they receive too many fire arrows

Good news I found out you can use the Parabellum units 1-3 mods and Parabellum campaign(just this) to get the vanilla units. :)

it does not crashes the mod but it doesn't fit it, the unit balance and size in case of some units is very off, maybe a reskin only dedicated for dei could be nice ?

You have the choice to activate DEI below or above RoR, depending on the layout, the one above will have priority which will create bugs for one or the other because it is 2 overhaul

I will create a "Lite Edition" version in the coming weeks with only RoR units which will be compatible with most external mods :swordcross::RyseBlood:

I'm excited to announce that the major update for the mod "RoR - Ryse Of Rome" will be released on May 15th, and will become "RoR - Ryse Of Rome (Complete Edition)".

This update will merge my mods: "Ryse Of Rome", "Combat", "Siege", "3D Units Card", and "Blood & Burning" into an all-in-one version for a bug-free experience.

The other standalone mods will no longer be needed and will be temporarily deactivated to avoid conflicts—until the release of the "Lite Edition", which will only include the units for maximum compatibility with other mods and overhauls

Normally if you put the DEI mod before RoR, the priority of the vanilla DEI units will make them available, otherwise a little patience, I will release a "Lite" version of RoR with only my units in addition without modifying anything else, so the vanilla units will be available and the mod should normally be compatible with all others mods :RyseHelmet::swordcross:

Is there a way to have the vanilla Roman units in the game with this mod? I somehow managed to do it before, I even got to use this mod with DEI (completely wiped out everyone with archers and ballistas). But now I have no clue how to replicate what I just did. I like having the stronger legionaries of vanilla, and love the archers of RoR.

Good mod, but is it me that most Cavalries are without horse?
(No Horses= Cent Cav, Cent Cav Triarii, Imp Cav, Legio Cav, Legio Cav Triarii, Rom Milit Cav)
(Mounted= Masked Prae Cav, Prae Cav, Prae Guard Cav)
Case above could be my others custom merge units mods or is it own based mod issue?

Also i edited num units table to be Vanilla, it seem for Prae Guard Cav got double persons in 1 spot.... any idea why for this case?

very glad you are staying to keep modding i do understand why you wanted to stop due to all the progress gone but i will say this i may not be a modder like you but truly dont give up if this is something you enjoy doing or you love doing then no matter the set backs always keep pushing forwards and as always keep some funny bugs for certain units that get the cav upgrades lol its really funny also i hope to be able to use this mod in the other campaigns when its stable and not just the normal game :D:haloduelist::MCCLEGENDARY::halounsc:

The update will be released in May.

"All-in-one" version won't be released until at least July, allowing time to fix possible bugs.

The "Lite" version, containing only the units, will be released in a month. This very basic version will allow the units to be recruited in custom battles and the campaign without any other changes, to make them compatible with as many mods as possible.

Thanks for the feedback on the Praetorian armor glitch; it will be fixed in the next update :swordcross:

Regarding the two units you're suggesting, I'll add you as a friend to discuss them and see what I can do :steamhappy::steamthumbsup:

Also in the units mod you are doing can you not remove the standard ones just add them as new units in that way it would be making the game not too easy Lastly there is a bug on the Purple / black armour roman cav where the armour is glitching out. Like i say bud this is one of the best mods for Romans out there keep up the good work and let me know when it can be possible and when the units mods will be release

@Daryun ye that would be good, like i say the units in the mod are the best roman units i have since for a long time. Do you know how long it will be to do the two version? also is there a way to add 2 more type of units?
one unit is the armour legionary cohort with all of them wearing the Mask like in the game black and purple and the shield as well if poss with cavalry version
