How do i solve it?
I don't wanna be rude,
are older versions of ACF an option though?
I can uncheck the legal check checkbox for singleplayer, but that might be unfeasible to ask of admins of servers lol
@bmwdealer Can you share the errors with us?
@AstalNeker @duk Please see https://github.com/ACF-Team/ACF-3/wiki/Frequently-Asked-Questions#acf-engine-has-been-disabled-the-engine-must-be-parented-to-an-acf-baseplate
So i can't just use my older vehicle ?? fucking dumbass devs
I've put up a little turret and now whenever I try to dupe wether with the vanilla duplication tool, or advanced dupe 2 it just constantly gives out either an acf hint that it couldn't copy the baseplate properly, or the adv2 dupe straight up gives an error message and spawns nothing.
Am I stupid and understanding something wrong, or is this a bug?
Here's the error message:
"[AdvDupe2Notify] lua/cfw/core/connectivity_sv.lua:47: attempt to call method 'Merge' (a nil value)
[AdvDupe2Notify] Finished Pasting!
[Contraption Framework] lua/cfw/core/connectivity_sv.lua:76: attempt to call method 'Sub' (a nil value)
1. disconnect - lua/cfw/core/connectivity_sv.lua:76
2. fn - lua/cfw/core/parenting_sv.lua:152
3. unknown - lua/ulib/shared/hook.lua:115"
I'm already struggling to get the hang of it after not using the addon for months.
Heck even the addon for in game tutorials (addon: Ponder - In Game Tutorial System API) that you guys made is already outdated.
Wake up devs.
@Black Wolf You can do that if you go to Serverside Settings > Legal Checks > "Allow arbitrary parenting of ACF entities" and check that box.
@Snow™ ACE is not compatible with ACF, no. You can only use one or the other because their files will override each other.
but please explain what is up with the constant untested push's to main, because theres no way this is how it has to be. like im having trouble learning really important quirks about acf 3 because things get changed the second i get an idea.
like genuinely whats up with that, whats the mentality i gotta know,
@Дядько Язов What in particular is causing you issues?
This addon is not static, no ACF iteration has ever been, ACF-3 unfortunately just has stagnated in development for a while and the last year alone has had more focus put into it than the previous 3 years. We're trying to let these things remain toggleable and backwards compatible but that is not 100% possible to accomplish.
We introduced these changes because they were necessary for combat balancing - we are the Armored *Combat* Framework after all - but if you don't want those changes you can disable them. We have plenty of other legality checks for common sense issues and I don't get why this is such a big deal beyond being new change.
my old dupes dont work
when i spawn a fucking howitzer or any other guns it says acf gun disabled can only be parentet to a turret bla bla fuck you
"We think that turning on the new requirements by default was necessary to improve combat balance."
That's a very subtle way of saying "We want every server to use our new system and not be able to use their dupes because we lost ACF battles in a nearly two decade old video game and my ego is shattered now."
Even with changing all the settings some old dupes don't work as they originally did or are broken now.
@SERB @Россиянин You can turn off the parenting restrictions at Serverside Settings > Legal Checks > "Allow arbitrary parenting of ACF entities" and the crew restrictions at Serverside Settings > General Settings > Minimum Crew Efficiency.
