It would be best to start spamming the project only when you can 1-2 turn it. Also, try to have 2 units of the same type so that you upgrade each path equally then make those units into a corp e.g.(2 siege units each one upgraded in one of the paths. When you upgrade each 3 times merge them into a corp and you will have saved a lot of time). Very good for late game war or even spies as they get the exp even while on a mission.
