Bro, I really like your mod. I’ve added you as a friend, and I hope to receive your future updates. Thanks!

BathorysGraveland I'm sorry to hear you being stressed out over this stuff. Hope whatever you do later is fun enough for you to enjoy. I really appreciate all the music you complied and found it great to be introduced so many artists I never heard of. Wish you the best.

I'm discontinuing the mod on Workshop, primarily out of stress reasons. Workshop is just an absolute head ache to deal with. I'm still compiling the mod for my own personal use. If you like the mod, then feel free to add me as a friend and ask me for it, I can give it to you in a ZIp format which you can then extract/paste into your RiS folder. This is so much easier way of doing it than dealing with Workshop. Workshop is nice for the downloader, but it's a giant pain for me to actually do work with. Thank you for your understanding.

Hi I enjoy all the ways you improve your mod and I just want to make suggestions to help it even further. Do you think you could add more music tracks from Europa Barbarorum 2? It has a lot of cool new tracks added but the only videos I can find of them are old and in poor quality. It would be nice if you could add them to your mod in better sound especially if others like me want to take that music and put them to video so they can be heard in better quality on sites like Youtube.

Excellent to hear, thank you for bringing that to my attention.

Seems to be fixed, I did not experience any more crashes. Thank you
BathorysGraveland  [author] 29 Nov, 2024 @ 12:01am
Alright mate, I think I discovered the issue. Can you please try again and see if you get the same crashes? Simply restarting the main menu over a few times should suffice. If I'm correct, it was a simple error in the text file that was causing it, essentially being told to play a particular track that was removed in the latest update. I have hopefully rectified that issue now. If you can get back to me, that would be awesome, thanks.

im playing as sparta and i forget the name of the faction its the one with the grapes on the first turn. but sometimes the game will crash even when im on the main menu
BathorysGraveland  [author] 26 Nov, 2024 @ 9:51pm
There is a mis-named track somewhere then. What faction are you playing as, and what is the enemy faction you are facing during the crashes? It's likely a battle track not lining up with the text file.
BubbaFett 24 Nov, 2024 @ 6:24pm
game keeps crashing to desktop when I am using this mod. Usually happens when in battle
BathorysGraveland  [author] 14 Nov, 2024 @ 5:17am
Thank you for bringing that to my attention cryptic. The issue, as it so happens, is somehow it made a new folder called "previewimage" and inside that folder it had duplicated the mod many times over. No idea how that happened or why. Probably an issue on one of the updates maybe. I've never uploaded a mod to Steam before this, so it could have just been me being incompetent. In any case, that duplication is now removed and the file size is appropriate. Thanks again for bringing that up.

Why is the filesize so big? The music should only be 3-4 gigs, not 45.

I like it! Keep on grinding.

For anyone who actually cares about this submod, rest assured it is not abandoned. I just got burnt out on Imperium Surrectum for a while and as such, ceased testing the music. I'll be renewing some RIS campaigns soon and will test some of the non-Greek factions. I'm pretty happy with the soundtracks now for Greek and Illyrian factions, so want to test the others. I already made the decision to remove some of the unfitting Conan music for barbarian factions, other major grievances I will remedy in time. Basically anything that is a movie soundtrack I'll be getting rid of, and just cutting down the total number of tracks to something more concise. Thanks for any continued interest in the submod.

Never mind I managed to copy a few music files after searching on my laptop. I will try making a video to upload some of the tracks to YouTube but I have never done it before so I need to figure out how to make a video to upload it to YouTube.
DexOrion53 6 Jun, 2024 @ 10:25pm
Hey I just wanted to ask how i could extract some of the music files from the mod so I could download them myself to listen and maybe upload them in good quality to Youtube? Many of the EB tracks uploaded there are old so they sound compressed on my phone so I would like to download many of those songs in good quality and upload them.
BathorysGraveland  [author] 11 May, 2024 @ 9:00pm
That is excellent news DexOrion53, thanks you. As I said there is still some WiP to be done, testing to see what tracks fit and which don't. With almost 800 tracks in the game now, there is certainly room for some chopping and narrowing down.

I am happy to let you know that the Mod now works and it is wonderful. I managed to get it to work by putting it above RIS in the mod launcher but making sure to click on RIS so it would launch from there and when at first I heard the usual menu music it changed when I started up a campaign and i heard the EB theme start to play the music new music started playing.
DexOrion53 4 May, 2024 @ 7:34pm
I will try it soon. First I am going to test out a new battle formation mod and after that I will test your music mod.
BathorysGraveland  [author] 30 Apr, 2024 @ 6:11am
Okay, I've just gone and updated the .idx and .dat files now. I think I may have still had the vanilla files in the folder originally. Hopefully it's all working now. Quickest way to tell will be to open up a campaign and attack something. You should get a new pre-battle track playing. Fingers crossed it's working now.
DexOrion53 28 Apr, 2024 @ 7:08pm
Just meaning to ask, I am a Beta tester for RIS and the version I have is 0.6.4, would that be causing any issues with the mod?
DexOrion53 28 Apr, 2024 @ 7:05pm
BathorysGraveland I am sorry if I gave you the impression I used the mod when I made my comment but I did not. I was talking more about the music used in the base RIS mod, not yours and I am trying to get it to work but it is not happening. Whether I put it above or below RIS in the mod manager it does not work.
Morrowgan 28 Apr, 2024 @ 7:13am
Doesn't work for me, only vanilla music is playing
DexOrion53 28 Apr, 2024 @ 1:38am
I think I am okay with some Med 1 tracks being used for say the Arabic factions can work with the Med 1 Arabic music since well, they are Arabs, and I am fine with Viking Invasion music being used for the "Barbarians" since it sounds similar enough and some cultures like the Germans actually make sense, due to the familiar beliefs and customs between Germanic and Norse people, it's just the Christian European tracks with Gregorian Chanting that do not fit at all with any faction in this time period. As for the Arabic music I hope they are just used for the Arabs because I dislike playing an Anatolian faction that is not Arabic, and is even more Greek like the Carians, because that just feels like lazy stereotyping of the diverse world of the Middle East in this time period.
BathorysGraveland  [author] 28 Apr, 2024 @ 1:00am
There is some artistic licence that is needed though. For Maurya for example, I have included instruments such as the sitar that are not from the ancient period. But that's out of necessity as there isn't much 'ancient' Indian music available. I wanted that faction to be musically distinct from all others, so I included some anachronistic music for that purpose. I did likewise with Scythia/nomad factions and anachronistic Mongolic/Turkic/Tuvan music. I wanted the nomadic factions to be musically distinct from the Celtic, Germanic and Iberian factions.

Hey, thanks for the feedback. Glad to know it's working. There is definitely some stuff that is subject to change DexOrion53. I haven't too much time to do testing for all cultures to see if some tracks fit or not. So feedback from others is good there. I included Med 1 soundtrack as I thought it might suit the barbarian factions, but if it indeed sounds out of place I'll consider removing it. The goal is to be immersed after all. As for speech, no plans from me. It's a very cool idea, but I'll leave that to someone with more talent than myself.
DexOrion53 27 Apr, 2024 @ 2:31pm
Thank you for trying something like this because while I love the music being used in RIS, I do think some tracks do not fit like they should, such as the Med 1 battle tracks that feel out of place in a Ancient era mod. Is there any considerations to put in a voice pack similar to EB, with possibly more voices added for certain factions like the Scythians and Dacians with languages that while not accurate, are at least similar enough to be more accurate then just having them speak Iranian or Celtic?
MikeWazowski 27 Apr, 2024 @ 10:10am
Also i think the Vangelis Alexander the great had some soundtracks that would be nice to add. for greece and other Hellenistic like factions. Or you can even change the main menu song so that it is easier to know when the mod is working 100 %. the Titan song is pretty nice and works for easy identification.
MikeWazowski 27 Apr, 2024 @ 9:45am
Ya know what i will give this a try right now. I will test by loading already existing save and starting new one.

So i just tried by putting the mod before the RIS mod and only ris music is playing ill try adding it after.

So i tried it after. and i got the EB music to play for a prev save on pntos. after a few disable and enable music times. Im gonna have to retry the before RIS mod because thats normally how it works for other mods.

For now it works tho if you add it after. no issues i seen so far.

Not entirely full of confidence that this is setup correctly to work with RiS or not. If you install it can you let me know if it's working please? Quickest way to tell will be to jump into a campaign and attack something. If the pre-battle music is the same then it hasn't worked. Thanks. First time trying to create and upload a submod.
