@ChiefBlitzen for this version no, i don't think it will get any more updates but that issue has been fixed on B42, just finishing up somethings before releasing it (lots of the code broke)

Is there any plans to make the charging not based off tps/fps?
I UNDERSTAND IT'S GOOD TO KNOW THAT MAYBE THERE WILL BE FOR 42. THANKS FOR THE NOTICE

@hades-84 ordum mundus glorimus soon, just finished updating the crossbow mod for b42 and i plan to do this one next before the melee weapons mod

I see, thanks, i dont have any firearms mods, only improvised silencers. I will try turning it off.

@Not_DrArtur you could try redownloading the mod, redownloading mods sometimes fix some issues, but your issue problably is some mod incompatibility, which might be changing the shooting system which is causing this to break, seems to work fine with mods like VFE, Brita or ATRO, but a mod like Improvised Silencers seems to cause that, the issue is maybe caused by uncorrectly overwriting the shooting hook or maybe the mods just tries to do its code on every weapon, which breaks this too, any mod could be causing your issue

For some reason when i try to hold the mouse button to charge the shot it just shoots immediatly like vanilla gun. Is it a bug? What should i do to fix it?

@mailasdqwe yes the patch doesn't require any code because the code in atro works by checking for the bullet type of the weapon, that's why it doesn't have any lua in it, last time i made tests everything seemed working fine, what you're describing sounds like some unknown mod uncompatibillity, have you already tried just this mod and atro active on a debug save to see if it works correctly?

Just tested without the ATRO patch and I'm getting the same behavior.

Having trouble properly firing the guns with ATRO and the ATRO patch. The first fires goes immediately after pressing click and the others fire as normal if I continue holding the button down. No silencers mods active in my save.

I've looked into the ATRO patch folder and there are no .lua files. Doesn't ATRO hijack the click pressed/released behavior so this patch would have to have a script of its own to interact with this hijacked behavior?

@sampson_h2008 yes i still think about it from time to time(almost started working on it some of these days), the thing is i've been busy with life + kind of holding back from creating new mods because of the upcoming B42(if i make something new now it's very problable i will need to rewrite the entire code in order to make it work with the new version, and there's already a bunch of code i will need to update in other mods), if i make something like that it will probably be a time where the B42 has already launched

Do you still plan on doing this? also the sequel to endoparasitic came out it has new guns and reload mechanics

Any chance you could beef up the damage a bit. Seems like a LOT of work for basically tickling the zeds. This thing should vaporize flesh.

@Spectin if i could pin a comment i'd pin yours, yeah thats what i meant by "won't work" lol, i guess in the future i could be more clear, also that "burst fire mods" i just put up because someone said that a burst fire mod was causing that same issue you describe, i don't know which one it is specifically so i just put that

For anyone who read the compatibility that says "problably won't work with: burst fire mods, improvised Silencers by Maxwell218" and thinks that you simply cannot add silencers to the gauss firearm, this is an incorrect assumption. Simply having the "improvised Silencers" by maxwell218 mod will cause the firearm to not charge properly, instead firing a shot (this will continue until your gun magazine is unloaded while the charge meter still goes up" while you hold down LMB to charge up your weapon so be wary of mod conflicts.

I don't mind you waiting tell Build 42 because THAT WILL break all sorts of mods. Take your time as your current mods will keep me going for a very long time

@SDgamer i kinda wanted to make a scrap guns mod for some time already, will maybe start working on it after adding some more weapons to this mod or the weapon pack, but i've been kind of busy lately and waiting for the B42 release to see the new systems to make something

Only since you made this mod, Crossbows, Scrap and Forged weapons plus Tikhar from Metro, do you plan on adding Scrap or Pipe guns? Even though we have The Workshop mod that still works I don't think the modder for that mod is active anymore

@PapaJoh if you have the round magnetizer (empty) right click it there should be a "Insert Battery" craft, if you have one with a battery already there's no way to recharge it you need to remove the battery then insert a new charged one

can't figure out at all how to actually charge the Round Magnetizer using car batteries, I've got one in my inventory but nothing pops up.

Hi!

After playing around a bit, I have some suggestions:
- Please make the battery charge level in the interface like the shot-charge bar. It is so easy to miss the LED when no charge is left.

- Rework for rifle/shotgun:
Make a new ammo-type - magnetic pellets (scrap metal). Pistols and shotguns use pellets,
SMGs and rifles use rounds (metal bars).
Pistol gets 10 pellet magazine for 10x1 shot, short charge time and low damage
Shotgun gets a 9 pellet magazine for 3x3 shots, longer charge time and high damage
Rifle needs more range, 5 round magazine and a long charge time, high damage
SMG shorter range, 15 rounds are fine (or maybe 20) and short charge time, medium damage

- Custom upgrades: You could add things like "capacitor upgrade (faster shot charge)", "secondary battery (more power)", "coil optimization (longer range/more damage)", "drum magazine (well, a drum)" etc. in addition to the vanilla upgrades.

Otherwise I enjoy your mod atm :D

one of the big things with modern electromagnetic weapons is they have massive capacitors, so they're just, huge. and if you're trying to get lethal velocities out of them, you're going to need a pretty bulky weapon

I had the same issues Eighthand below, any time you try and charge the gun it will fire repeatedly until the magazine is empty. The charge rate does go up to max if you keep the buttons held but of course it continues to fire at the standard firing rate while this is happening.

After checking all my mods, the culprit was improvised Silencers by Maxwell218. I don't really use it so I was able to disable this mod but it might be worth noting for anyone else who may have this issue and has this mod.

@Pallontras there are no more mods that change shooting, weapons or their skins. Only Gauss Firearms and ATRO.
When firing any weapon, it is impossible to hold down the left mouse button to charge the battery, which makes it simply useless.

the mod is incompatible with ATRO. If you try to shoot without a battery, the shot is still fired

How exactly do you put the battery in the gun? Whenever I click on the slot for it in the UI, it just brings up the context menu as if I'm right clicking the item in my inventory
