Unfortunately I don't know of a way to have the model change between SD/ not SD depending on whether or not the suppressor is actually attached in real time.
I leave those w_models with the suppressors attached to indicate to the player that the weapon has a detachable suppressor.
There should be a non-suppressed model of the weapon for every one that has a detachable suppressor. I would advise extracting the addon and changing the w_model manually in the lua files for the specific weapons you're concerned with.

Dumb question, but is there anything that could be done to remove the suppressor from the world models totally? It feels unsettling to have a normal pew-pew sound come out of a suppressed handgun.

Honestly I prefer if the enemies just 'fall' to the ground as if nothing hit them since I don't really like it when the ragdolls fling off as if the 9mm bullet in my gun was a car rushing at them at 60 mph (but that's only my preference)

The hell is with the sensitivity movement and the recoil...and the bullets...and the sounds....and the damage. I really like the variety of these guns but you really need to actually work on these problems, when I kill an NPC's with some of these, they just FLOP to the ground.

No, the bases are completely separate. That being said, there is a risk of textures or sounds conflicting if both addons are drawing on the same default texture/sound files.
