It isn't working. I have a remote control block on my ship and I type into the chat bar: /fm Harpy and it won't move. Please help.

@acmorri: You need to have a control block and the SHIP's name is what you enter in the chat (not the control block's name).

This is not working for me, I named the Remote control block "Drone" and typed in game "/fm Drone" and absolutely nothing happened, please help this would be great to have.

yeah make the goto pos command pleas while im syure it can be hilarious for the people that want to trash stuff, using it to fly around a sector can be awesome especially in a dark skybow situation if you know nav points to avoid collisions

An amazing idea, will definately be keeping an eye on this. I do like the idea of a "Go To" function as well. This would be wonderful if you could go to another location (easily defined as another ship), even if there was nothing else in this. It could be used to (1) return home easily, (2) travel to friends, or (3) make homing missiles ;)

...this'd work great if it could be implemented into a "Homing Beacon" block of some kind.... My first thought was to use it to help guide large shipkiller missiles into their target. My second was it'd be great for automation or salvage operations if your work takes you away from your base.

@AlphaGojira , yes, i guess that can be done. But, but you have to park several ships in that fashion to make a fleet. It's not impossible, but a little bit arduos (parking the ship and then linking it, i mean). Remember, i'm lazy.
I was thinking something on the line of name your ships with "fleetsomething" and they will follow at a distance the one you command within that fleet. The you can command them into different formations (diamond, straight lines, arrow, and so on. It can be difficult with large ships, as they probably collide)
Both ways will work. Just tell me what you find more usefull.

Hey thanks! But I was thinking of something along the lines of say you park a ship a safe distance away from another, slave it with the script and it will do its best to stay in that spot next to your ship.
See what I mean? I mean what ever is doable. :-)

I'm still having troubles: It appears to be mostly focused on the ships that only have Control Stations- the Blue 2 and the copy I made of it, and after the Red 1 crashes during a summons near an astroid (on purpose, mind you [stopping power was taken into account when location selected XD]), it would no longer come when summoned. I also now had issues with the miner and the worker small ships not coming, but i'm not sure if I had done anythingthing to them. I think my test fighter got eaten by the big thrusters I had added to the Red 1, as I can't find it or its marker, and nothing in world is named Dude now according to your scripting. I hadn't tested it with the control block but I still got a lot of pop ups saying 'no cockpit' for certain ships (including the two smalls that I mentioned).

@Avos Enue ZVD: any kind of cockpit (even remote controll) will do.I did notice that (some ) ships sometimes do not move. I'm triyng to fix this.

... Okay, I suddenly got it working when I used '/fm Large' and my big red came flying at me (i had upgraded it with warp drives, yikes! good thing i had reverse warp drives too!) and suddenly my fighter Dude showed up too? There were messages saying the others didn't have cockpits, but that doesn't make sense, since htey have pilot seats that they come prefabbed with. Is there a specific cockpit block we need for the ships?

Okay, what am I doing wrong? I can't seem to get any of the ships to move. I gave the two specific test subjects specific names, and typed in the code '/fm Crash' (renamed Blue 2 as Crash instead of its original designation) and '/fm Dude' (tacked 'Dude' onto the end of the small fighter's original designation), and while text appears saying something to the effects of 'engaged', the ships don't move. Do they need a remote control block in them? I even went so far as to make sure I owned the ships too.

Was thinking about making a "go away" function, like "go away xxx mts" o "go to x.y.z" position. Or, more evil, "crash to xxx ship" or "attack xxxx" ship. Dont know if anybody wants something like that.

-Giving a Remote controll block a name of a position in the world (can be found out using the gps mod)
Example:
X:79 Y:-123 Z:37
-When this remote controll block is reactevated, the ship with this block is flying directly to this position.
-you can organize the remote controll blocks via timer blocks to tell a ship to pass this positions (activating a new direction will overwrite old ones)
