Please note that the submod has been reuploaded to a new page due to what seems to be a Paradox Launcher updating issue (https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3550614531)
Nitrecint 16 Aug @ 10:08am
will it be discontinued if it doesn't get fixed?
IratePirate  [author] 15 Aug @ 12:57pm
@Kong Utsi - I think there was a major bug stopping it from working when I switched PCs annoyingly. It should now work, please let me know if it doesn't.
Kong Utsi 15 Aug @ 12:26pm
it dosent work for me anymore
Siren System 11 Aug @ 6:52pm
Soon as this is updated for the newest update I'm Tunisia'ing out of my mind.
jarin.martin1 3 Aug @ 1:49am
Will you be adding game rules options for countries?
IratePirate  [author] 2 Aug @ 2:01am
New update including Tunisia. Please let me know if you see any bugs.
IratePirate  [author] 31 Jul @ 3:19pm
@Hosea - that's very odd. I can't say I've experienced it. I wonder if it is a broken bit of graphics or something like that, but nobody else has mentioned it. Next bit of content is Tunisia coming soon.
Hosea 31 Jul @ 11:44am
I've noticed that while playing and looking at the Westasia focus tree that my game froze, leading me to have to manually shut it down, is there a workaround or something for that, or is it potentially due to other mods I am using? Otherwise, absolutely amazing mod and I love that you've made this, excited to see future stuff you add
Siren System 27 Jul @ 10:21pm
It'd be cool for the wacky HRE in Africa thing to get more content.
IratePirate  [author] 17 Jul @ 3:54pm
@John Ouique - I believe it's a glitch with a missing vanilla texture. I'll fix in the next update.
John Ouique 17 Jul @ 6:55am
just tested it without the tool pack and better mechanics, and it still happens. I fail to understand how a map mod and modifier icons could mess this up.
John Ouique 17 Jul @ 3:29am
Hi, i was playing as Goering, and when i unlocked the sovereign state path and switched to natpop, his portrait changed to a random dude, same thing with his marshal icon. There weren't any other submods in my playset that were adding other ideologies or portraits, just the TNO map mod, modifier icons, tool pack without the errors and better mechanics : officer corps. Is there a known incompatibility with these mods ?
IratePirate  [author] 11 Jul @ 3:10pm
@atka - Probably Kenya.

@Dickload - you're welcome. I added over 70 flavour events and a new focus branch focusing on the Pacific, and the option for Ostasien to collapse entirely. I was always disgruntled with how KR/KX treated the German colonies in the Pacific as if they didn't exist when Samoa was of massive sentimental importance to the Reich.
Dickloaf 11 Jul @ 11:35am
thank you for ostasien content
wingwalker 11 Jul @ 6:52am
Do you have a favourite focus tree in your submod?
IratePirate  [author] 7 Jul @ 1:42pm
@gab.spangsege - The peace out means you didn't defeat them before the timer ran out - it's in the decisions. I definitely need to add an event though to make that clearer so thanks. It was 120 days but I've upped it to 180 days. The random AOG annexing is actually vanilla KX - I should give you the option to refuse it though. No idea why Fritz vanished - nothing in my code touches him!

@[BVR2] Dr. Zhex - Soon™

@SusanTookTheKids - Tekeland is mostly skeleton content besides a focus tree and some events. It's probably the least substantive tag in KX Africa besides Bornu or Hausaland. There is more to come on it though.
gab.spangsege 7 Jul @ 11:23am
also randomly lost the general fritz sachse
gab.spangsege 7 Jul @ 11:17am
also the A.O.G just randomly annexs your chinese ports, without any event about it
gab.spangsege 7 Jul @ 8:29am
why do i randomly get peaced out with the melanesian workers republic as deutsch-ostasien?
[BVR2] Dr. Zhex 14 Jun @ 1:05pm
how is the kr port development going?
SusanTookTheKids 9 Jun @ 7:10am
Could you add more tekeland content? Since I was able to play so soon as the country I thought it would have a lot more content that it has currently. I'm stuck doing nothing during the collapse. Or are there more focuses that unlock later on?
IratePirate  [author] 7 Jun @ 2:12am
@Hunta - (i) based on the sources I've read the Germans were planning on implementing indirect rule on a scale very different from elsewhere in Ostafrika due to the highly sophisticated and centralised kingdoms in Ruanda, Urundi and the Kagera watershed. By 1914 there were barely sixteen white colonial administrators in the whole area, and the Germans had concluded the area was too geographically remote from Tabora or Dar. The idea of them patterning a new separate administration based on the Residencies set up there is fairly logical, particularly given the several year interruption by the Belgian military occupation which split it from Ostafrika. (ii) Rule of fun.
Hunta 6 Jun @ 5:03pm
Why does Ruanda-Urundi exist? Weren't they apart of Deutsch Ostafrika, my only good guess for why could be that Deutsch-Ostafrika becoming the Mittelafrikan Administration itself would allow Ruanda-Urundi to secede as an independent colony
IratePirate  [author] 6 Jun @ 3:43am
@Anna1914 - thanks, this should be fixed now internally
Anna1914 5 Jun @ 10:17am
So true

Also the Southern Rhodesia has an issue with not being able to conquer NordRhodesien if the BSAC is part of you and you have a Non Aggression Pact with MIttleafrika, and can't declare war on them if you didn't do it before
IratePirate  [author] 5 Jun @ 10:00am
@Hunta - The various British colonies were usually gained in the same way; with the furious public demanding the state intervene to 'protect' their interests like missionaries and traders and the state limply responding. Hence the famous quote from J.R Seeley on the British Empire: 'We seem, as it were, to have conquered and peopled half the world in a fit of absence of mind.'

So TL;DR - Germany would take everything they could get, and if they didn't get from France via treaty, they would have occupied them after the French Civil War in any event if they were easy to get to; with Ivory Coast easier to seize than the Dakar-Niger railway colonies.

This is all my own headcanon and the KR and KX teams may, and indeed do, think differently. My submod takes the maximalist approach; that Germany would take politically popular choices for short terms with long term pain; as that is how rational state actors work in the real world. (2 of 2)
IratePirate  [author] 5 Jun @ 9:55am
@Hunta - Some would argue that, but what I would argue is that colonial acquisitions in this time period were usually the result of public pressure. There is no way the German public in the early 1920s in the event of a victory would let the government get away with NOT seizing as much as they could get away with.
By way of comparison, consider IRL - how upset the Spanish public got over the prospect of Fernando Po being sold, how the Portuguese monarchy was partially brought down because of the failure to get Northern Rhodesia, and the Japanese riots over handing back Shandong to China after WW1. You have to remember that 'Germany' didn't want any overseas colonies at all; Bismarck despised them. He was forced into them.

Hunta 5 Jun @ 1:21am
Some would argue that Germany wouldn't have even taken colonies such as Ivory Coast, Djibouti, Madagascar, Togoland, and such from France. Instead more realistically they'll only settle for the lands in between Belgian Congo and Kamerun. This includes Asian colonies. Yet in Kaiserreich they end up taken a heap more territories. What about you and your mod, do you argue Germany would take the more aggressive approach, or moderate? Considering your mod tries to be more realistic and in depth? Furthermore I'm also wondering how you feel about if the Germans would also control the Ivory Coast.
Siren System 26 May @ 1:00pm
It only called in Germany after Germany ended up at war with the Socialists. So perhaps that broke the code telling it not to? The attacking thing is a who the hell knows though. I certainly don't know how that started.
IratePirate  [author] 26 May @ 1:19am
@ Siren System - that's very bizarre and definitely a strange series of multiple bugs. The AI for the colonies is scripted not to attack anyone in a faction so I couldn't imagine how that even started. I also have no idea how they called Germany in when they are also specifically scripted not to do that.
Siren System 25 May @ 7:45pm
Wasn't paying enough attention to see exactly how, but somehow one of the German colonies started an early war with the Entente, dragging in MiddleAfrika. And, The Gold Coast's little puppet remained at war with the Entente (with said puppet also remaining in the German faction, and due to being a puppet, despite being the only enemy still in the war, and capitulated - the war never ended) - and later called Germany in. Leading to the Entente working with the socialist against Germany as opposed to actually declaring for their homelands back.

Given I was trying to do socialist Canada (Newfoundland) this was not great.
Anna1914 25 May @ 1:42pm
@IratePirate i'm pretty sure that's from some internet meme don't worry lol
IratePirate  [author] 25 May @ 1:17pm
@syr - In fairness if English isn't your first language I can understand why reading three paragraphs about Elliot Kenan Kamwana or the Laotian firearms epidemic might be difficult.
syr 25 May @ 1:03pm
This is HOI4 modding scene bitch!!!! we flavor event in this mothafucka!!! betta take yo illiterate ass back to vanilla
IratePirate  [author] 25 May @ 3:06am
Some players have complained about being overwhelmed by flavour events during wars and the like, or when playing as Mittelafrika. I have marked hundreds of events with 'Minor Flavor' which means you can turn the pop-up events on or off in Decisions menu.
IratePirate  [author] 24 May @ 5:16pm
@Antony617 - 85% of the foci have descriptions. Only a handful of trees don't, like Dahomey, Ivory Coast, some of the Sudwestafrika and Mittelkongo trees etc. I'll gradually complete them as I get some more inspiration
Antony_6177 24 May @ 5:11pm
Have you thought of writing descriptions for the focuses that dont have it
IratePirate  [author] 22 May @ 1:03am
Oh, and there's Ubangi, Gabon and Tekeland
IratePirate  [author] 21 May @ 5:14am
@Comrade Duck - The following relevant countries can go left - Congo (via Kivu tag) Kenya/Mau MauGold Coast/Ghana, Mittelkongo/Middle Congo, Uganda, Rhodesia/Zimbabwe, Kamerun/Cameroon, Dahomey/Benin, Elfenbeinküste/Ivory Coast, Northern Rhodesia and Nyasaland. There's probably more.
Comrade Duck 21 May @ 3:47am
are there any socialist countries added in the mod?
IratePirate  [author] 20 May @ 12:15am
@Some minor mechanical changes, reworked localisation making things more logical and fleshed out, lots of flavour events both for MAF itself and for the colonies/protectorates, lots of early wars to get involved with, reworked Mozambique Bush War
Antony_6177 19 May @ 9:09pm
What does this mod add to mittelafrika
IratePirate  [author] 7 May @ 12:04am
@Evolution - yes, it should do. It doesn't touch any of that content.
limette 6 May @ 5:38pm
Is it true this still works with Rising Dragon and the Poland submod?
IratePirate  [author] 20 Apr @ 2:08am
@Hunta - I started research during COVID-19 and slowly plodded away on it from then
Hunta 19 Apr @ 6:37pm
how long did it take you to make this?
Astræa 10 Apr @ 7:18am
Thank you for the quick reply
IratePirate  [author] 9 Apr @ 3:13pm
@TheGamingChair - This issue should hopefully be fixed now - I've double checked a bunch of event triggers.

I've also added more content to Sudwestafrika and fixed up Congo/Katanga so it should be possible to actually not fail state as the Yeke revolt. The Siege of Kamina event will now only fire once KTG is actually annexed by COG.
Astræa 9 Apr @ 6:11am
I've checked with Germany, Afghanistan and Westafrika and also replayed the first couple days of Albania twice and only Albania gets the events as soon as the clock hits January 2nd. I get the events "Togoland, the Musterkolonie", "The Flight of Adolf Friedrich", "The Kenyan Highlands Settlement Policy", and "Investments in the Congo Basin"
