@Sexy Potato I am working on it already. But school goes first, so it might be a couple of weeks still
Sexy Potato 24 Nov, 2024 @ 3:21am
Hope this see's an update soon!

Understood, thanks for replying!

@snykard No, it is not. The mod is compatible with kaissereich because the tech tree (for planes, tanks and ships) is actually identical to vanilla and the great war redux's tree is very not vanilla.
snykard 4 Jul, 2024 @ 7:25pm
Is this mod compatible with The Great War Redux? Just wondering since its similar to Kaiserreich in how it alters the research tree.

I wouldn't be averse to a mod that just outright removes the designers completely
Tim Apple 21 May, 2024 @ 7:57am
That also disables their focus trees
abchihba_228 17 May, 2024 @ 7:41am
just disable - man the guns/no step back/by blood alone
arda9ds 27 Apr, 2024 @ 9:04am
will you patch rt56?
Tim Apple 18 Apr, 2024 @ 11:48am
nevermind im a dumbass who had NSB disabled for some reason. Mod works fine now

@Cat Man The ai still uses the designer. I am working on an update to adress this, but my life is fairly busy right now so it's going to take few weeks.

@Tim Apple My mod uses that exact technique to return the simple ships to their truly moduleless state. Also, that is a very good way of replacing all the starting ships. might use that myself if I ever get around to making a truly desingerless mod.
Tim Apple 17 Apr, 2024 @ 11:25am
When I made my mod that removes the ship designer, I discovered that if you remove all modules from a ship in the equipment file, it reverts to the old designer automatically. So this is a potential way to only have the old system.

For ships that already existed, I just opened all the history country files with notepad++ and then did "replace in all open files" to mass change ships. So replacing existing ships was super easy.

Quick question, does ai still use the designer planes/tanks/ships or uses the old one?
joris327  [author] 17 Apr, 2024 @ 8:41am
@Tim Apple

hmm that's weid, bacause i can see them, try reinstalling the mod and see if that fixes it. and check whether there are any mods that may be conflicting. mods that modify any of the tech trees aren't compatible with this mod.

regarding removing the desiners:I have been considering making that. I tried making a gamerule so you could hide the designer techs but subtechnologies can't be hidden. If I make that it would definitely be after an ai update where the ai also uses the simple equipments. or it would be quite broken.
Tim Apple 17 Apr, 2024 @ 1:07am
Could you make a version that completely removes the designers? I made a mod for the ship designer that you are welcome to copy.
Tim Apple 17 Apr, 2024 @ 1:04am
I can't see any tanks in the tech tree.

Awesome

@Sisudatu The AI always has access to the same tree the player does. though it always ignores the simple stuff and only looks at the designer hulls/airframes/chassis and modules.

the armaments and weaponry are there for if you still want to design something. otherwise you can ignore them. notably, the ai does not ignore them and researches them like normal.
Sisudatu 4 Apr, 2024 @ 11:39am
and does researching armaments and weaponry do anything?
Sisudatu 4 Apr, 2024 @ 10:46am
sorry if stupid question but does the AI adapt to this tree change?
LostMyMarbles 7 Mar, 2024 @ 6:11pm
i am so looking forward to playing this.
