@Tim Apple My mod uses that exact technique to return the simple ships to their truly moduleless state. Also, that is a very good way of replacing all the starting ships. might use that myself if I ever get around to making a truly desingerless mod.
For ships that already existed, I just opened all the history country files with notepad++ and then did "replace in all open files" to mass change ships. So replacing existing ships was super easy.
hmm that's weid, bacause i can see them, try reinstalling the mod and see if that fixes it. and check whether there are any mods that may be conflicting. mods that modify any of the tech trees aren't compatible with this mod.
regarding removing the desiners:I have been considering making that. I tried making a gamerule so you could hide the designer techs but subtechnologies can't be hidden. If I make that it would definitely be after an ai update where the ai also uses the simple equipments. or it would be quite broken.
the armaments and weaponry are there for if you still want to design something. otherwise you can ignore them. notably, the ai does not ignore them and researches them like normal.
