Updated every single mesh in this mod because the original port left their normals/shading incorrect, resulting in most objects to appear darker than intended or less detailed. They should now all look much better and closer to how they do in BZCC.

Hi! Started this complain recently. Initially also have 3-5 crashes per mission, but it's much better after i turned off all my graphical settings to low. Maybe it would help someone

Hi Imperator, so sorry for the crashes. Please see my notes above for best experience and make sure you have the settings down. Bzr is very unstable even on stock content sadly, I get crashes in playground. I do agree the bz2 engine is superior but unfortunately I have no experience or knowledge modding there.

As painful as it sounds to admit, missions on this crash constantly and without warning. Grizzly, as much as I absolutely LOVE the work you put into mods like this - I feel this may have been better in the Battlezone II engine due to its supreme stability.

I'll keep trying to play it, but is there any recommendations to stop the no warning crashes and fatal errors?

I just installed today also got the message Blue got, I think, after trying to start the second mission:

"Warning! Fatal Error

Extra Utilities DLL is not installed on your system. This content uses functions which require that utility."

Sorry for the late reply @GrizzlyOne95, I tried to reinstall the mod and delete the save files to replay the entire campaign but the last mission still doesn't work D:

Hmm, not sure how/why this would even be attempting to utilize extra utilities on your system. I just did an upload where I completely removed that code from the final mission, please try that after it updates.

You can also browse the mod files and the first file "0useexu.txt" has a single line in it that says "UseExtraUtils: false". Make sure it doesn't have "true".

@Blue火 (ⓛωⓛ) Just did a quick check and Extra Utilities should not be required in the latest update. Please make sure the mod is up to date. I did launch a test on my end to make sure.

I have an error with the last mission.

@Mr Bouze Thank you very much, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I spent a lot of time making it so I'm glad to see its being played :)

Yep I am aware of the occasional stuttering issues, ensuring shadows are not on very high or ultra should help, but the mod definitely has higher system requirements than the base game. I'm still doing a few optimization tweaks where I can though.

Wow very well done! I’ve just finished the campaign. I’m not so familiar with BZ lore but I got totally immersed and could really feel the transition from the original game to the 2nd. Excellent story, script, new assets/items and the AI voices are a game changer.

You really made the most of what the game has to offer and I will be replaying very soon.

I did experience the same issues as “Battlezone” described, but only on mission 12. Choppy framerate which gradually got worse but I managed to make it to the end.

Other than that, thank you and everyone else for putting a new lease of life into this awesome game!

@Battlezone roughly when was this? I did push out a few big updates this past week, so unfortunately older saves may not work properly. I've been trying to optimize the strain of the mod as much as possible so depending on when you finished this it may already be fixed. Thanks for the report.

In the mission where you have to build the missile launcher, the performance gradually got worse until it was basically barely playable at the end. Game would freeze every second and crashed twice. My latest save was corrupt at the time and it would show an error in the loading screen. I click ok and it loads the save anyway, but the objectives are empty and I can't progress. I had to go back to a previous save.
This performance issue also happened at some other missions but it was brief and just after loading a save.
Unfortunately I don't have further details as I already finished the campaign.

found a bug - on the mission where you jump across the lava to infiltrate lerna, if you save and reload, all of the lava thumper effects go off at the same time. i nearly got yeeted into orbit

@se9 - Thank you very much! Sorry it was a heavier strain graphics wise...that was one of the things I set out to do though was improve all the base visuals haha. BZ2 tie in lore was all done by yours truly, in a way I thought was fun and that fit in, though others may disagree. Good ideas you have there indeed. I did not do Burns Rebellion, that was ScrapPool, but it was very inspiring to me to make this mod.

Tartarus was basically it's own story saga - wrapping up something from BZ1 that always intrigued me, and of course a few missions dedicated to Fury business.

I've considered doing a full CCA campaign so if I proceed with that I will keep your lander ideas in mind, would be very cool.

@GrizzlyOne95 - finally finished it, *very* choppy towards the end but I managed to get through it with a few restarts and reloads and optimisation tweaks. Fantastic work - I have to say that this is one of those fan projects that, like Star Trek Continues, is so well thought out and written that I just have to consider it canon at this point because it really does clear up quite a lot. Very well done! Nice to see Red Odyssey stuff stitched into the background of the ISDF. Some more nods to the CCA would have been good though, perhaps a few ISDF ex-Soviet characters like whatsername in BZ II. Ties in very nicely with Burns Rebellion - not sure if that was you too. One thing though - I'm not quite sure how Tartarus tied into the Scions in the first part of this pack - just more lore? Btw if you're going to make any more assets and add more stuff may I suggest throwing down a few old Soviet probes and landers for Mars and Venus like the Lunar Lander on the Moon in the original BZ

Hey @GrizzlyOne95 - just reinstalled the game plus mods and picked up where I left off and that mission loads fine now - another problem though, I've reached the on-foot one on Mire and there's no ammo for the satchel charge/bomb to do the mission? That said I got to the second crash site via a weird way so maybe there's a powerup I missed and I need to restart?

One thought I had was make sure you're not launching from archive. However, if you somehow skipped A Desperate Gamble you should be able to launch it directly from archive.

Hi @se9, thank you, and that's odd about the mission not loading...does it crash, or does the mission launch but immediately end? Or it literally doesn't let you attempt launching it?

There could be a few issues, although most game breaking bugs should be fixed. Sadly yes, this mod definitely requires more graphical power than the stock game, for a variety of reasons. Integrated graphics is already stretching it a bit on stock, so I can definitely see problems with this mod. Sorry to hear it's not working super smooth for you.

Styx map is fantastic and creepy as hell and dumps a ton of lore to link BZ1 and BZ2 stuff btw. Great job!

ta @GrizzlyOne95. Worked fine. Having another problem now though - it just doesn't want to load the 'A Desperate Gamble' mission - the one after you hold off the furies in that ravine - it just skips to the next mission, the space based one.

To be honest, I might wait for a later version and when I've got a better PC to finish this off - it's fantastic, great job, but there are still maybe a few issues and more importantly, it seems to require a LOT more juice than the base game, which I can play on my integrated graphics desktop very easily with high settings.

Yes, I ask if you can improve the the machine gun firing as I have notify you in the past. For my opinion one possible solution to make it more natural, without going beyond the limits of the graphics engine, is to remove the falling bullets and remove light overlapper on the barrel of the machine gun like the original rifle that has no artifacts.
