Honestly, I kinda do the same when I first tried to put together a "Steam-pocolypse" collection (never got finished or published publically) with random Steam stuff being used. But now, I'm kinda not sure what to go for. Might return to an old crossover idea similar to yours, just need to settle on a thought.

Jokes aside, this is personally better to me since I do prefer when something isn't overly edited into someone's personalized style. Not against personalization, but not everyone would be satisfied.
