sadly im aware of that issue what i dont understand is that why nobody bothers to talk about vision cone thing, we already have 360 degrees vision mod which modifies the java files i might try to take a look at his code but idk java and as far as i know we need to decompile classes to modify them in java

@Mythion It is indeed possible to do. I'm looking into changing it to a form of glasses or goggles, rather than a hat. Will likely be a quick change, but I'm traveling and don't have the resources to do it here. Most likely will be implemented next month (August 2024). This will obviously eliminate the clipping issue, but will create other conflicts with what it can be worn with. I will do my best to minimize those, but it will require a ton of testing, which my laptop can't handle in a reasonable timeframe.

@tiananmen I have gone through the code and there is nothing in there to modify the vision cone. This is simply an overlay that gets put on top of your screen when you turn the goggles on. I haven't the first idea how to crack into the game and mess with that sort of thing, which I assume is Java and not Lua, and I have neither the tools nor skills to modify.

Is it possible to change the model for the NVGs? I kind of liked the balaclava instead of the welder mask, as I like wearing gas masks and helmets, but the welder mask clips through.

Thanks in advance and thank you for keeping the mod alive!

no i dont want it, but as you know pz decreases your vision cone a lot when its night if atleast this nightvis could give us the %60-70 of it then it would make this thing useful. in its current state its more of a aesthetical thing than a functional one

@tiananmen That is correct, it doesn't magically give you eyes in the back of your head.

@blackhawk700 Visually it should appear to be a welder mask, that is the model that I used for it. As for it not working, they tend to not spawn with batteries, or with dead batteries. Try popping in a new battery and waiting until it's well and truly dark (like 0200) and try it then. There are also intensity/power settings on the NVGs that you may need to adjust up or down. These are accessible through standard right-click menu. I have tested it with a wide variety of mods, somewhere in the hundreds, but there is always the possibility you have something that conflicts with it that I don't run.

Night Vision Chunked is not required. I have no idea if it works in MP or not, but I see not reason why it shouldn't, it's just an overlay.

mp?

@RavingMadly Thank you for this mod. Just need to know if Night Vision Chucked is needed or not. I assume not since it is not listed as a requirement or stated in the mod info, but would still like confirmation either way. Again, thank you for updating this mod. :) :praisesun:
