Also make it traverseble for units to cross from the Sahel to french Congo?
@nogaboy, we'll take a look at the balancing of some of them.
Kingdom of Italy (NAPOLEONIC)
Kingdom of Naples (NAPOLEONIC)
Bonapartist Spain (official name should remain Kingdom of Spain)
Duchy of Warsaw (heavily debatable here, prob not even possible, but still relatable due to non-historical mode present)
Kingdom of Holland (it was annexed by France, yet this satellite also existed)
Septinsular Republic (Basically Ionian isles. It was under french protection in 1807-1809)
Kingdom of Bavaria, Württemberg, Westphalia, Saxony, Grand Duchy of Berg and so on, as the game provinces allow
Napoleonic Switzerland
Yeah it's really ton of these but napoleonic content should deserve expansion. IMO it's the most coolest path and also the only path where you can go ultra-aggressive.
In order to remove disunited government for the democratic path for example, simply complete the same focuses you would in vanilla + "A New Sacred Union". And to get there, simply wait for the political crisis event chain to end . (Historically, this occured when Daladier took power in early 1938. You can also complete it by finishing the popular front or national bloc missions.)
For strikes, you can simply complete the "Matignon Agreements" focus to remove them. If it's not removing them, you've encountered a bug, Make sure you're not playing with any other mods that override our files.
It's also impossible to get rid of a "disunited government" and therefore choose a different foreign policy (blocks the branch of the diplomatic tree). Another problem: I've granted all the possible union demands (about ten, I think), inflation has been limited, stability is at over 90%, and I still have the strike penalty. I know the French have a reputation for going on strike, but it's not a permanent state of society either!
Regarding the first, the "Why Die for Danzig" triggering while you're already at war seems like a bug. It's supposed to trigger, historically at least, when Germany starts the focus "Danzig or War". That it's triggering in the circumstances you mentioned is probably due to us not properly making sure it doesn't trigger in ahistorical scenarios. If you have other events you think shouldn't be triggering, please let me know, since they're most likely bugs.
For strikes, there are quite a few possible "strikes" within the content, but most of them can be cleared through the political content. Disjointed government is intentionally hard to fix, given it's sort of the primary issue France was facing at the time, but it is possible to get rid of quickly with skilled play, though you do have to prioritize it, sometimes over other things. Other penalties you'll have to specify.
If you're interested in discussing the mod in general, I'd encourage you to join our Discord server, we're always looking for more feedback and suggestions.
- Far too historically cryptic, since some historical events occur without meaning (dying for Danzig when you've been at war for several years).
- Impossible to get out of it if you choose a moderate left-wing government (the mod must have been designed by conservatives at best, because it's much easier to get out of it by choosing to become fascist and a little less so if you choose communist).
- Some penalties are impossible to overcome, such as strikes or the disunited government, penalties so significant that they make any victory impossible.
In conclusion, a good mod if you want to replay history as it happened (no interest for me); if you want a non-historical scenario, the mod is useless.
If a designer wants to explain these choices to me, I'm open to it.
Thought the "military plot" lets you get petain in power but sadly not but well quite nice of you to get patriarchal communism to be a thing since I already modified "better laws and politics" mod to allow me to select patriarchal society when I have stalinist leader kek.
Bc I'm pretty sure I have a bug when the scipted elections do not happen in my game due to probably mod incompatibility and I would like it fixed but not sure which mod might cause it.
No problem !
1) well thats nothing its just a number that i always forget to change, doesnt affect anything but everyone always ask the question
2) its via an event when germany attack the benelux but its only for AI
A few more things I wanted to ask about this mod:
1) In the launcher menu it says that France Expanded mod is for an older version of the game (1.16.4). I wanted to make sure if that's also intended/not an issue? So far I haven't come across any noticeable bugs.
2) In the custom rules menu upon starting a new game there's an option called "Blitzkrieg mode" which gives Germany buffs in the spring of 1940. What exactly are those buffs? I tried tag switching in spring 1940 but didn't notice any new national spirits. Are the buffs hidden and what are they?
