For anyone having the same issue as me below, I resolved it. It seems the game only accepts certain hex codes for colours, you can find a chart online of the relevant ones. So you can't use any shade of any colour you want, but you can still change all the kingdom colours

So I can see in the sp kingdoms you have changed the Sturgian colours to white and red, which obviously overrides the original colours of blue and white. However, when I try to change the other kingdom colours in your sp kingdoms file, the colours do not change.

How did you manage to change the Sturgian colours? I have done it in the base game files sp kingdoms and sp cultures, which eventually crashed my game, but I figured doing it in your mod files would work, but the changes are not saving for me.

Question, if my clan colors dosent change to faction i joined, does that mean i broke something, or its how its supposed to be?

how do i change banner color of my kingdom in xml file? it takes me to internet explorer and wont let me change anything.

@Piconi, good work but would still like to see troop overhauls for this mod. And this works on all versions, so does the main one.. I am currently on 1.1.4 and this mod works perfectly fine, DrUltra probably has another mod that he doesn't know about that is bugging here and there, causing him to crash.

@DrUltraLux I see no comments here saying this sub-mod doesen`t work, Historical Banner Icons had one issue for a day before new year`s eve, which has been fixed and no reported issues either here on Nexus. I am playtesting every possibility myself and am not getting the error. If you check the main mod, which is Historical Banner Icons, it works for the latest live version which is 1.2.8, if you are on any other main game version it is incompatible. It is in the description of Historical Banner Icons

Well it is, this and the main mod are the only mods I had at the time and it generates the "verify files" bug. Removing this mod resolves the problem. Looking at the comments here and on discord shows numerous people with the exact same issue.
Attempting to start a new game with this mod gives me only blank icon files for the flag, and it crashes on loading the world.
Currently playing fine with other mods, no problem.

@DrUltraLux I have personally just tested every instance and the mod works fine.
This sub-mod can not corrupt saves nor can it crash the game, nor its main mod, Historical Banner Icons, as they are both lightweight, not altering the game files. If you have enabled some other mod in the meantime that alters spclans.xml, spkingdoms.xml, or spcultures.xml, than that is the reason of incompatibility. Also check if you had some of the large dependency modules left enabled at the very top of the mod list (Harmony, ButterLib, UIExtenderEx, Mod Configuration Menu....)
If the issue persists, you can try downloading Better Exception Window mod and then launch the game with mods and then send me the link to exceptions to see what is crashing.

Worked for me for a while, now just completely breaking/corrupting saves and crashing the game.

@Hayazo, you'd actually be suprised how the english really did most times... in the late middle ages, to prefer crossbows with large shields called a "pavise", while, yes, they did frequently use the longbows.. they more of balanced both until later, or earlier

why is vlandia an England? xd it doesnt make much sense while english soldiers prioritizes crossbows over longbows ;p if anything Vlandia is more like a french with crossbow and strong cavalry, Battania is closest u can get to england but its more irish/scotish (im not culture expert forgive me here)

anyway... can u make this mod compatible with MCM? would be great to change hex colors in the MCM for nations, everyone would be able to customize experience to their likings

I still personally love using both the AI and Player banner icons, considering you can make things such as Carthage, the Holy Roman Empire, The Kingdom of England, and so on so forth.

would still love it if we could get a uniform overhaul for these, as the current one's arent really historical. it'd make sense in my world considering you legitimately have roman legions (Ex: Legio Hispania/Hispana)

@LaughingCoffin i made them white for my own playthroughs, as i consider them (and they sort of are) precursors to Vaegirs and the white fits better with the slavic icons, looks like ethnic embroidery.
You can make change any kingdom`s colors yourself in Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\261550\3124993149\ModuleData\spkingdoms.xml
and inside it check for for primary (banner background color and primary uniform color):
primary_banner_color
label_color
color
alternative_color2

For symbol color (and secondary uniform color) change the hexcodes following these:
secondary_banner_color
color2
alternative_color

Just go to any hexcode color website and copy the hexcode of any color you like (should be 6 characters) and copy it after the above mentioned lines after "0xff......" or "ff......" over the current hexcodes.
