Cant wait!, I'm gonna continue to develop mine, and I have a version not quite ready to post yet with abt 20 more historical traits i've researched, gonna call it the anatolia and balken update, I'll keep you updated so you can add the new ones I've added as well.

These were all created by the mod authors mentioned in my description. I think you'll need to ask them about this. And I'm currently integrating and adjusting your mod. You'll see the result soon, hope you like it!

No worries. That's how this mod is designed. It may cause minor errors, but it won't affect your game or cause it to crash.

mb, I narrowed down which mod is causing the crash in MP. Its "cheaper charters" for some reason...

I got mistaken as the error log has a lot of errors from this mod, but ultimately it didn't cause the crash I guess.

It's great to see some new blood! I hope you find Mod creation enjoyable. My Mod uses the new statements in 1.5, which automatically assign traits to designated states when the game starts and renders the map. The advantage of this is that it has no impact on the map files, is highly compatible, and will never cause the game to crash or other issues. The disadvantage is that if there are duplicate entries, you will see two identical traits in the game, but this has no real impact. The mod you mentioned hard-codes traits, resources, and other elements into each region and replaces the OG files. You can refer to their map folder for reference.

Im trying to learn more abt modding, are you talking abt creating a file in history/global where you use the add state trait effect to put them in the map? I noticed your mod has one while that one does not, they are put in with the resource changes?

@TheNowGamer I can do it, but it will have to wait a while. I know that mod. The problem with it is that any mod that modifies the map (such as resource levels) requires hard-coding the entire continent. This means that once the map is updated, it will become invalid or crash.

There recently was an update that broke a mod called historical pops and resources, it jut so happens to have tons of state traits that are historically accurate and help stimulate specific industries for states. With the mod authors permission would you consider implementing in into your mod? :steamhappy:

Any chance you can incorporate the Barrier Island Chain into the American states on the east and gulf coasts? It's a unique feature that makes shipping super cheap and safe compared to coastal shipping in other places

Anyone wanting to add compatibility with certain mods or some of these traits to this mod please go to the New State Traits board and propose it according to the format and with a link. This will make it easier for me to work on it. (Of course you can simply say use the entire mod, but it would be best to point out to me which states.)

But adding mods during gameplay has no effect, the global statement is assigning state traits when starting a new game.

No need to start a new game if the Mod is updated. Unless the map is updated as well, but that would result in nothing more than some lacks of updated traits at worst, and there's no question of not being able to play the game. You can use your old saves without any problem.
