It doesn't need a fix. I've thoroughly tested that this does work, otherwise I wouldn't be able to get that screenshot. It's a problem on your end.

I just verified ingame that yes, the version that downloads from the workshop indeed does work after a restart of L4D2. So it's a user error on all of your ends, I don't know what else to tell you all.

Did you install it ingame? Because you need to reboot L4D2 if you did.
