@KFC that's not custom mapping, you are creating new groups by using that method which is a lower circle of hell when it comes to it being supported. This is especially the case with community weapons which are a part of the warpaint system. Editing anything related to the files for those weapons (The Jag for instance). This is something that a tutorial like Monkey's fails to mention, likely just due to ignorance.

If Valve were to support anything, at best it would be reassigning what is already there in a weapon's grouping and editing in proto_defs.

you can change the mapping with weapon groups image

Can you try out different templates with this one? Mannana Peeled isnt a great base to be honest. Use a base that secondary textures the scatterguns grip and the shot guns grip

It's just Mannana Peeled with added team variants. I don't bother with custom templates anymore outside of simple edits since there is no indication that anything beyond that is supported by Valve.

If you don't want to go through any hassle you could just fake team colouration in your promotional imagery and ask Valve to add it. This is one of the few requests they honour, Team Serviced is an example of that since it uses Cream Corned (a non-team coloured base) as its kit.
