How dose the mod reacts if they die mid-air?
Doomimic  [author] 16 Apr @ 4:35am
No problems at all! The mod is currently set up so that only hardcore players are able to revive other hardcore players, and so it may have been that your character was not set to hardcore mode.

I should really just make that a config option at this point cuz it's caused some others the same issue, and I keep forgetting that I set it that way in the first place haha.
SpookySpazo 16 Apr @ 4:29am
Nevermind, the mod works and I proper accidentally wasted your time on this. The character i created was the issue, sorry about that hombre.

Thanks for at least having the dedication to look into it, good lad, and sorry again for taking up your time.
SpookySpazo 16 Apr @ 4:20am
We first tried it with 2 mods, one with an additional hardcore mode function and it didn't work, we then disabled the additional mod and tried standalone with your one and it still didnt seem to wanna work

The whole scenario went like this:

We loaded up, my mate died to a slime and the aura circle appeared, there wasn't any countdown displayed from when the circle appeared up until when it ran out of time and my friends hardcore ghost appeared in front of me.

The circle itself kept displaying my friends player name, over and over until the timer ran out and he died for good (rip my boy), the countdown you mentioned never appeared, which i'm assuming it should have been what was displayed instead of above being my friends name repeatedly.

Even attempting to tinker with the timer on his end and mine as well we only got the exact same outcome even though he set the time to stand in the aura to 2 seconds.
Doomimic  [author] 16 Apr @ 4:06am
@SpookySpazo Just gave the mod a test in hardcore and it all seems to be functioning correctly with the current tModLoader patch. Did any numbers appear above the circles while attempting to revive? As it should count down from 5 or 10, while a player is inside. Were you playing with any other mods at the time, especially any that influenced respawning or hardcore in general? Let me know about any other details and I'll see what I can do to get it working!
SpookySpazo 16 Apr @ 3:15am
Your mod isn't functioning currently, me n my buddy have been trying it out for an interesting hardcore run we were setting up for the lads.

Problem is when one of us dies and the other enters the circle (even for the 10 second mark as indicated in the config) it doesn't revive him at all, either there's clearly something im missing, or this is just bugged entirely with the new patches to the modloader as of recent.

If you got any info on what it might be, or if you can even look into it that'd be mad helpful, cheers big man

For some reason someone needs to re-join to save someone. Why is that?
Doomimic  [author] 27 Feb @ 5:02am
@The Sigma Male I've not implemented that as a setting just yet, but am planning to in a future update!
The Sigma Male 25 Feb @ 11:24am
how to make circle bigger?
Doomimic  [author] 7 Feb @ 3:36am
@jjtParadox Ah all good then, thanks for letting me know!
jjtParadox 6 Feb @ 11:47pm
Turns out the doppelgangers aren't caused by the revive mod, as we had the issue happen again while the mod wasn't loaded. It's likely caused by using Fargo's Mutant mod to change world difficulty
Doomimic  [author] 6 Feb @ 12:29am
@jjtParadox Hmm yeah that's a very strange issue. I'll have to do some testing with that mod list, but I suspect it's either Respawn Relay or Persistent Player Position that's causing the mod not to function correctly!
jjtParadox 5 Feb @ 5:21pm
Most important mods we use:
* Calamity Mod + Calamity Overhaul
* Fargo's Mutant Mod
* Overhaul Item Animations
* Persistent Player Position
* Respawn Relay
* Vanilla+ QoL (with respawning rework enabled)
* You can open the inventory when you die (https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3371018461)
jjtParadox 5 Feb @ 4:59pm
Thanks for the mod! My group of five was enjoying using it for a bit of time but we ran into a strange issue during our first boss fight (desert scourge from Calamity). One player was revived after they died, but they revived as a doppelganger of the player that revived them. No inventories were messed up, just appearance and name were duplicated. After more deaths and revives everyone on the server ended up being a doppelganger of the one player that didn't die. We then discovered that the server wouldn't allow anyone new to connect, nor would it allow anyone currently connected to disconnect and reconnect.

Restarting the server fixed everything, but we've disabled the mod at the moment because of this.

I'll grab our mods list in a moment, and let me know if you need any more info to help track this down
Pitaya 22 Jan @ 12:51pm
You're welcome! I am definitely looking forward to my hardcore playthroughs to be a lot more challenging when that time comes. Thank you very much!
Doomimic  [author] 22 Jan @ 5:05am
@Pitaya Oh I was testing this problem incorrectly before, my bad! This sounds like a good extra config option to add in a future update, thx for the suggestion!
Pitaya 21 Jan @ 10:32am
@Doomimic I have tested it with another person a of writing this, and no matter if it's paused or unpaused, the player who died still has to wait for the other person to die before when both dies, the respawn timer continues ticking.

This can be fine on it's own as the revive mod is waiting for all players to die before the player actually gets removed, but for those that want a sense or urgency before it's over, it's not working on my end.
Doomimic  [author] 21 Jan @ 9:39am
@Pitaya Hmm the respawn timer still counts down for me when testing with hardcore characters. It could be that the pause respawn timer keybind (p by default) was hit at some stage, and it remained that way after death. If so, just hit the keybind again to get the timer moving. I think I'll also make a specific config setting for preventing the use of the keybind according to what the host has set.
Pitaya 20 Jan @ 8:17pm
If you're still looking at this mod, I have a thing to report: When dying in hardmode, the respawn timer stops. Is that intended to be done? Because I want to have it o that the respawn timer doesn't stop as a sense of urgency to get back to the other player before it's over and I have to restart.
UndoZan 8 Dec, 2024 @ 12:23pm
I too would really like the aura size to be customisable. Great mod!
Flagg 28 Nov, 2024 @ 1:53pm
@kippymc both players have to be hardcore characters, we had the same issue and turns out my friend made his character classic mode oops
Galactic 7 Nov, 2024 @ 8:50pm
Please just add a normal respawning config. I was going to counterbalance it with other mods :(
kippymc 7 Oct, 2024 @ 5:32am
Hmm, can't seem to Revive friends in hardcore. Do they have to be paused? Or is there a config I gotta turn on
kippymc 26 Aug, 2024 @ 7:28am
Great Mod, Makes my infernum playthrough with friends much crazier.
Lucid-AD 23 Jul, 2024 @ 7:31pm
Hi, I just want to say that this mod is amazing and offers a very fun experience to my games! Great work on its development!

However, I want to alert you to how the eater of worlds boss in the Calamity mod is not counted as a boss in this mod, and thus while you still become a bubble, the timer is only set to 15 seconds during the fight and can revive without the bubble mechanic. Please don't think this is a coding issue on your part, very similar mods had the exact same issue, with the calamity eater of worlds boss. Specifically the "improved respawning mod". They managed to fix the issue very quickly, so im certain the fix wont be too difficult to make.

Have a great rest of your week, and great work on this mod again!
esifo 18 May, 2024 @ 10:59pm
would you be able to add the option to re enable the regular spawning alongside the revive i want to have the re spawn be a long time and the mod revive be short
'tobu! 12 Apr, 2024 @ 7:01pm
The mod keeps bugging out visually, idk if this is bug about the mod or things to do with our current modpack
eugene1beetle 29 Feb, 2024 @ 3:47am
Wow, such a great idea! Before this mod i used "no respawn" config from better multiplayer mod, because respawn and nurse are soo cheesy

Thank you for this mod ♥

And here's some my ideas for improving mod:
1. Make slider for aura circle size
2. Make slider for aura transparency (it's get messy with 4 players)
3. Some "magnetic" helper to stay close to alive person, kinda irrelevant if you can do aura size thing but can be cool feature
Hunter 23 Dec, 2023 @ 8:39am
question, i got this mod to make it so we can revive during bosses in masochist with fargo mod, but it doesnt work, u think u could do smth about that?
Doomimic  [author] 22 Dec, 2023 @ 11:36pm
Oh damn don't know how I missed that bug, thx for letting me know! I've just sent out a new patch to deal with it. Let your friend know to check their recycling bin if they haven't already, as deleted characters can be restored from there.
NuNeTomas 22 Dec, 2023 @ 2:19pm
seems awesome mod but idk if it is bug or not my friend died on hardcore character i revived him when he left to main menu his character was gone, any idea ?
Doomimic  [author] 21 Dec, 2023 @ 8:57am
Have just sent out a new update, hardcore revival should be functioning now and I plan to add a config option for limiting the time you have to revive other hardcore players. The mod is now disabled in singleplayer too, and I'll prob be getting around to @Void Opal's suggestion next :)

Please let me know if you encounter any bugs!
Pitaya 20 Dec, 2023 @ 3:34pm
Please make it so that this mod only works in multiplayer and not single player (unless there's an mannequin like item that you can put down to spawn yourself at the station)
Shadow 17 Dec, 2023 @ 10:56am
seems like that'd be fun, maybe add a bleed out function that can be enabled but is off by default?
LightSoul 17 Dec, 2023 @ 1:36am
yeah, would love that, tried doing a group hardcore with friends once like that but it was quite broken at time xd
still, would appreciate if you managed to get it to work
Doomimic  [author] 16 Dec, 2023 @ 7:38pm
No not at the moment, even if you get revived you still become a ghost. I reckon I'll take a look at getting the mod to actually revive players in hardcore so that it kind of works like a group hardcore, where you've only lost once everybody's dead at the same time.
LightSoul 16 Dec, 2023 @ 3:10am
does it work with hardcore gamemode? :um_coffee:
Doomimic  [author] 15 Dec, 2023 @ 8:50pm
@Pho3nix Hunt3r If you could let me know what boss you were fighting where you were still able to respawn, that could help me debug whatever's going on here. Currently players begin respawning as soon as either there are no active bosses left or no players alive on the server (this is so that players do not get softlocked if the boss is deciding to hang around your dead bodies).

Also for some reason Eater of Worlds in the code is not a boss, and that could also be the case for some modded bosses, which may be what you're facing?
Shadow 15 Dec, 2023 @ 5:35pm
what kind of boss? same thing happened with me and the slime god in infernium a while ago.
Hunter 15 Dec, 2023 @ 5:20pm
yo i can stll respawn in a boss
no idea if this is a bug or not
Doomimic  [author] 11 Dec, 2023 @ 1:11am
@Shadow @Void Opal Good suggestions! I'll try to get around to them in not too long. I'll have the negative balancing options available in the config (off by default) and then I'll see if I can implement aura size scaling too, with some kind of speed penalty for larger auras.
Void Opal 10 Dec, 2023 @ 12:07pm
Hey, a suggestion a friend and I have after messing with this mod for a while, could you potentially add a size scaling for the revive zone in the config?
It'd be pretty cool to be able to set up a large zone that can't move instead of a small one that can, a slider in the config menu would let people set it however they decide to!
Shadow 7 Dec, 2023 @ 5:02pm
Maybe also have some other negative options available as well, such as movement speed or a penalty to how much dmg you deal while reviving.
Shadow 7 Dec, 2023 @ 5:00pm
you could just always leave it up to the player's configuration for the negative life regen and leave it off by default so they could balance it them self.
Doomimic  [author] 6 Dec, 2023 @ 4:55am
Good idea, I reckon I'll add a negative life regen to anybody going for a revive, but I think it'll take a little to get something that feels nicely balanced.
Adolf Charles 5 Dec, 2023 @ 7:03am
add a damage penalty for touching the respawn aura
Doomimic  [author] 4 Dec, 2023 @ 6:12pm
Glad you like it! And sorry that it spoiled one of your mods. I think I'll add as a config option the ability to disable the light produced from the aura :)
ComradLie 4 Dec, 2023 @ 12:23pm
It’s a great mod, but in my opinion, you need to either create a restriction in the area of movement or remove the light from it. I accidentally spoiled one of my mods, but it’s a cool mod! Good luck with your development
Doomimic  [author] 3 Dec, 2023 @ 8:33am
Yep, I'll get this done in the next update.
Shadow 3 Dec, 2023 @ 5:59am
The revivetime command works just fine, but it is slightly annoying that I have to reset the time everytime I start the server up, maybe you can move it to config instead?
