I rarely criticise mods but I feel like I must with this one. I still appreciate and commend the sheer amount of effort that went into actually creating it and well done since the authorial vision here seems to be implemented well.

My problem here is with the authorial vision itself. Holy hell she is annoying - she speaks way too much, too often and with few exceptions it's criiiiiiiinge as hell. On the bright side, she makes Livewire seem well behaved in comparison.

too much stats, too much perks, too low price

Voice lines were made for teens virgin teens who can only hope to hear all this in video game, right?:) For me FOX is enough for that.. finished her contract with 5 days left :D

The build itself is decent + she's cheap, but my god, it's a NIGHTMARE of a character. Absolutely awful and cringy voice lines, very quickly becomes unplayable because of her "edgy" behaviour.

Change her voicelines to something normal and she'd be decent.

@Riot She's a cheap level one merc who can copy any other perk and has a high wisdom.... what more do you want?

Have her copy a perk that benefits the team early and then one that makes her deadly when she's higher level. There's tons of options here. Probably the best workshop Merc I've seen both in utility and overall polish

Echo stopped working for me. Or rather, her special ability stopped working.

I had used it to get Gillit's special ability, but then when I loaded up today, it wasn't working. So I hired him back to get her to copy it, and now she can't copy either.

I've played every JA except the stupid one since the 1.st on appeared in a floppy disk, hehe. I recently sold unopened copies of every JA game on an auction for a pretty nice sum ;P I always bought at least 2 copies or more of every game and saved them for 30-40 years for sale, lol. I is finally paying off ;p

Major update:

- No more perk icon duplication on mod reloads
- The Mirror, mirror operation now mandates the presence of Echo
- Improved/reworked Mirror, mirror op/perk - now it will only clear the last learned perk upon learning a new one (eg. you can cheat her more personal perks)
- Moved the needed pics/icons to the UI folder to eliminate some warnings

@Stal2k: Hey, no prob! And certainly you are not a moron, I should make that operation a bit more descriptive - actually I wanted to limit it to so that it accepts only Alannah as one/first, but couldn't yet do it.

I'm a moron. So, I think I grabbed her first out of all the mods and in my slight defense it had been prob a week or two since I messed with her Mirror skill.

I didn't realize you had to have her and the 'target' in the operation. I thought based on how the UI was laid out, it looked like she could copy 2x perks. So while this may just be a limitation of the modding system, obviously that isn't a graceful way to handle people being stupid. I guess I could be trained from the other operations that the person doing the thing, i.e. doctor, trainer etc was in an upper slot and the subject(s) were in the bottom.

I figured this out when I was trying to get you a clean log which I don't suspect you need anymore as it's case closed. Sorry for the fire drill.

Ok I'll try to get you a fairly clean log where I just load in and try to train and get out. In the meantime, not sure if this is related but I saw in the current log a lot of instances of

"[Warning] Invalid location of UI image Mod/key13999/Images/EchoPerk_Passive.png. All UI images should be placed in /UI"

but not just for Echo, for like all the mercs I have. It was causing some weird UI issues

@Stal2k : Thanks for the report. Interesting, because I was just testing the reworked Stella perk and now Echo could meaningfully copy that and it worked.
So if there is an issue, it might be a bit more complex. What could help if you could either check the recent log file at c:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Jagged Alliance 3\logs\ for "error", or upload said logfile for me to download somewhere and I could check it. Thanks!

Hey to backup what Enyma was saying, unrelated to the mercs on my team my Echo could now no longer use her operation to adopt a perk. If I'm able to help log/debug let me know happy to try whatever. What is happening for me is that after selecting the operation and picking 2 mercs, the time just never ticks down in the operations menu. The end point is correctly marked on the timeline but when it hits, nothing happens and the mercs in the operation are 'stuck' in the operation unless I force move it.

I've had basically the same mercs in my party the whole time to be clear she already did have a perk echo'd (Striking good looks). It's unclear if Echo is able to adopt one or two perks, the way the UI looks it would appear like she could do two? The only mods I have installed are like ~5 of your mercs and the Descriptive hit chance.

Now... you know me, I can't resist to change mercs into some kind of Super Heroes.
So I added to Echo BulletHell and Nazdarovya (two blue perks).
But when I used her Mirror special perk, she gained the targeted perk but lost all her others blue perks... is that normal ?

Ivan should not be related...
I've done a small update of Echo yesterday, but it should not be related either...
So, unless there's some specific error in the logs, I don't have an idea, sorry

Since i put Ivan in my Team, i couldnt use Operation with Allanah Skys "Echo".
Any idea?

No worries, I don't take it as nagging. I had a lot of fun writing the dialogs and bio, so glad you like it. For that to be effective, it also needs good voice generation, this worked with Echo and hopefully for Percival too. Granny is more ... limited in that regard, where I could only edit the existing voice files.

I'm not nagging, I'm just explaining, ok? What I love with Echo is her dialogue and bio. The special perk while useful and amusing is not vital. Her dialogue is excellent. I wish I had more of those mercs with well-designed voices and dialogue.
I will check out Percival. Also, I somehow have managed to miss Granny Cohani... I'll give them a trial run.

I sure still have ideas; however making a merc like Echo is quite an effort, and of course Echo is unique in her own regard having a "no punches pulled", poking fun at everyone (including herself) personality. Also, if you have not yet done so, you might want to check out Percival (https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3094187785) , which is another merc created by me, also having banter with other mercs (including Echo).

Best merc ever. If you ever feel like making a new, many of us would be pleased.

I played a few times through the game now with her and really enjoy Echo! Very good job!

It pushed me also to generate a new merc, might load it up some times soon. But this (Echo) is the best mod merc for me so far, cause everything works fine. Even voice lines etc. which are often not working on other mods (or just copy paste from others??)

Agreed, unfortunately there's only so many models/parts to chose from so far (and I'm no 3d artist)...

There's a minor update, I've improved the voice quality of the Steroid banter, and did some slight revision to it (Steroid is just his usual self;) )

Great merc, really awesome perk and some nice lines.
However, that being said...good lord the ai voice is really hurting my ears. T_T
