Update:
This microcontroller was recreated to make it simpler, all functionality should remain somewhat similar, although a keypad input for desired temperature was added. The automatic heating will still work if the desired temperature is set to 0 or the node is left disconnected.
For simplicity, old comments have been removed as they are no longer relevant.
