I feel like you should get a lot more than two from the honey and lard considering how much more useful they are than two units of glue ?

Tallow is not in the base game, you must be confusing it for some mod you have, but using honey isn't too bad of an idea either. Glue is just the first thing that came to mind since animal fat is sometimes used for glue, the same as candles.
Though, now that I looked it up, lard and beeswax is another way to make candles, so maybe I'll add that as a recipe using lard and honey as well.

You could use honey as a substitute for the beeswax. Closer than glue. Hey, what about tallow? Tallow candles are a thing and there's tallow in the game.
