noob here, need help on how to use drone launcher. I build one in my base but it wont automatically attack pirates?

fixed ion damage is intended as it is derived off the ion frigate

its designated as the first tier of ion beam weapons.

i'll get to the medium ion description on next update

medium ion turret has a typo in it's description, also fixed ion cannon seems a bit underpowered towards heavy armor when compared to the other ion cannon options due to the short burst time, i don't now if that is intended but i feel like it should either do a little more damage or have a longer recharge heavy variant like for the destroyers.

Darn it! I don't like using WeaponCore, for many and various reasons, but as soon as I heard the Homeworld music, the sound of an ion beam, and fighter chatter, I was completely cooked. Years of nostalgia flooded my poor helpless brain of Homeworld, Cataclysm, and Homeworld 2. I have to have this mod. I just have to. It's the law.

Well done... Well done. An almost perfect trap. The only way this could have been more perfect was if you included Kiith Somtaaw weapons. Somtaaw for life!

Hello i love Home world and the sound design is amazing i was just wondering what ammo is used in the small Mass Drivers turrets, i have made every type of mass driver ammo: small shell, medium shell+, medium shell and heavy shell but the turrets don't accept the ammo i cant even load the shells manually.

IIRC homeworld 2 recycled the ion cannons to create them in the first place. Pulsar turrets specifically were just really fast charging ion cannons with a second long duration.

You know, in one last suggestion...

What about laser lancer turrets? and pulsar cannons? I'd assume with the ion cannons working pretty well it would be along the same lines to make a pulsar/laser lance turret and cannon right?

Ok, did some testing and it appears to be a WC level issue, and i cannot fix it on my end (with my ability)

so until then, single use drones it is lol

Ahh, I see. I know at the scale I've been building, the drones seem... "outlandishly small". Plus as a person who played a lot of homeworld, they just seem a little goofy to see.

As for redocking drones, I've **NEVER** had one in the 50 or so I've launched actually be able to dock properly and reuse. That's kind of why I'm asking about it, since they seriously haven't **EVER** redocked properly.

I mostly just use them to repel meteors right now since my big ship often gets pelted with them just chilling at asteroids and collecting materials... But I watch about 3 launch, do their thing, loop back, and come in to dock just fine. Enter the blue just fine...

and then /poof!/ they never existed.

Drones return if they can, and the ammo is re-used (though they crash when landing from time to time)

As for the drone frigate, rejected this idea long ago because it would be too small, and at the scale i went for, the fighters and bombers would be too small to make as a grid, which led me to make them as drone projectiles. basically, i preferred drones have the variety of different factions, and went with strike craft

you can still make the craft as grids, but at the size they would be, would be too small to have any form of good performance

Also if I may suggest a more lore friendly alternative to the drone bays launching fighters, instead maybe you could swap them to be the actual drone craft. I know the original homeworld 1 craft were pretty much a 26 poly barrel that shot bullets, but I think that might simplify the pack a little and also be a bit more lore friendly, ya know?

Love the mod, btw. I'm actually really glad it works in [present update] and like... That you're at least somewhat still active.

no, scale models are not planned because this mod is designed to be usable in survival, and MP

if i made to scale, the larger turrets would be 30x25x15 or something.

and yes, the scale of the sizes is roughly 1/3

Perhaps I'm being a greedy git in asking, I'm sorry. Is there perhaps any intent to make some of the weapon models to scale?
This was already one of my favourite mods when I was working on a number of HW2 builds, importing 3D models to scale, I just started on frigates when I finally realised the scale issue. The Heavy Mass Driver Turret is the size the Flak Turret should be, based on the HW2 in-game models. The Fixed Ion Canon should be about 2-3 times the width.

The Ion laser and torpedos are realy good but the other weapons need more damage cause they dont do anything against shield gens

i love these weapons however i really wish they were more damaging , as they are now they cannot do much against shields or such , they in my opinion need at least double if not triple the dps to be viable , but even so , still love it

the Large Arbiter Cannons have some tine mesh issues along at the barrel fronts, and i miss the pulsar turrets, but otherwise, thanks man this is great.
The heavy ion cannon turret is constantly switching between barrel 1 and 2 is that normal?

Yes i know, but the values for range and muzzlevelocity in the original Homeworld files are in meters. So you could copy them just for authentic Homeworld feeling ;)

Like Arbiter Cannons Muzzle Velocity is 2000m per sec. I know this from Homeworld Remastered Modding.
