Major update:

- No more perk icon duplication on mod reloads
- Converted The Folk Hero Foretold perk to UnitReactions
- Small correction to the The Folk Hero Foretold operation
- New The Folk Hero Foretold operation icon (on timeline)
- You can now install https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3145243846 and Larry (clean) will now like Biff, while Nails, Meltdown, Larry (stoned) will hate him
- Cleaned up some warnings

One of my favorite JA2 playthroughs was using exclusively MERC mercs.
Its a big handicap but was worth it knowing how pathetic you start out at first, then becoming OP in the end.

Hi key and thanks for your work! Are you planning to do with some of the missing JA2 mercs what you did for Biff? Biff looks like he belongs in JA3. I end up turning off some of the others I've subscribed to (not just yours) because the profile pics are ripped straight out of JA2 and look really out of place among the new portraits.Thanks again and cheers!

The only thing I know of currently is to delay them a fixed amount of days. Maybe there are other options already, but I am not aware of them yet.
Ideally how it should go is e.g. you rescue Biff, and depending on your actions/conversation choices/mercs you have/etc Biff joins you at that point on that map/ or he doesn't. This would be the best for immersion, and I certainly would like to do this.
With additional modding options I am sure this will be possible.

@Key Somewhat n00b question, since I have no experience with what we can/can't do where editing is concerned as yet.. But concerning your AIM mercs who already appear in game somewhere (I think just Biff and Granny so far), would it be possible to delay them showing up on AIM and/or being available to hire until "X Happenns"? (In Biff's case, once you rescue him and he's not dead, for Granny either after meeting her or possibly after the whole projector thing)?

It'd be nice for 'story immersion'. When I see Biff all set to be hired on AIM my brain goes, "But.. How can I hire Biff to go rescue... Biff?!" xD

Assuming this would even be possible, I'd think it'd then be simple to give users a choice of how and when to enable them with Mod Options settings so people who don't care can still just grab them from day 1.

Anyway.. just an idea. Again, great job as always regardless. ^_^

@Morianthi Sorry, my mistake. Just checked, and the Nexus version seems to have the same issue. There is a new version uploaded there too, however both Steam and Nexus should be identical.

Will check and update on Nexus too, although it might not have the same issue, as I suspect it was introduced by the Mod Editor auto editing some code when I prepared it for Steam upload.

Updated the mod as there was a mistake in the operation id, and would have caused issues with my Conrad mod. (also please disregard if you've found this mod uploaded twice, my mistake, should be corrected now)

First of all, thanks for all the kind words.

Yep, I am aware of other Biff mods out there, and I still felt it was wortwhile to put the extra effort in this one. Not to belittle anyones work, but from my own experience, putting the already existing graphics as a new unit into the game was by far the less intensive work.
While I know it will not be even close to Haemimont quality, I think about backstories inline with previous JA installments and tone, interworking with other mercs, adapting/editing (or even creating) voice lines, unique perks and quirks, maybe even insert an easter egg ;), etc.
That being said any feedback is welcome, I don't have the capacity to test everything, especially not the overall balance under all scenarios.

Having more options is always a good thing, esp. when they're not really identical. For example, this one has a custom perk. Also, I'm not sure if that other mod is voiced. Besides, that mod comes in bundle, and others like me might prefer to select per mercenary.
