i'm not planning to work on mods for rivals anymore however, i've been shifting towards full on game dev for a while now so i don't have the time or will to go back
even then i'd rather do more things than just sonic characters/creepypastas lol
but green mountain is pretty cool
Btw what you think of what you think of [Sonic (End) / Green Mountain Sonic]? If you decided to make him that is.
i felt like the old fair boost kinda made those harder to justify in the kit which is why i thought about changing it
since sonic is a character that rewards combos (with boost mode), giving him a move that combos for him is a bit counterintuitive imo
so while the old version is on the super sonic abyss rune i don't think i plan on bringing this back but eh, you never know tbh
thought i should point out that i did actually try to do a mockup of the soap shoes on sonic before but i felt like it's barely noticeable compared to his regular shoes
otherwise it just uses the more common version of him
as for dark_cart287, yes the forward air was patched to remove the forward boost, pretty experimental change but right now i can't do anything about it cuz of sonic being a part of a major bracket
idk what will be the result of if it will be kept, changed back or somewhere in the middle so don't hold onto it too hard
also i don't know what you mean MLGsupersonicgamer
which attack is the basic attack that has broken sprites and how does it "kick you out"?
thanks again!
I don’t agree that forward air overshadowed forward or neutral special. While Fair and Fspec traveled similar arcs, Fspec was usually my go-to, often nuking stocks at 100% near ledge. Nspec, meanwhile, reliably forced opponents further offstage and spiked with safety.
No disrespect intended. I just wanted to post my perspective. Do what you feel is right.
the move was way too strong for what it gave sonic:
- very active
- multihits on a character that his main mechanic involves doing combo hits to get to a stronger state
- a burst option
it overshadowed other moves in the kit like fspec and nspec so i felt like something needed to change
for now we'll see how it goes and how more people feel about it, since sonic will be in the vortex gallery 2025 bracket i won't be able to push any patches but another patch is already worked on (not by me i don't have the time)
thanks for the feedback regardless i appritiate it
i'm pretty busy to go ahead and patch sonic myself but i can at least ask someone else to do it
