You're right, thanks for clarifying - this change seemed to have slipped my mind :D
@ktoffel glad you like it. Some time ago CA removed merlons as physical blockers, which I think is a good thing since range units now are actually willing to shoot units that are on top of walls. In turn they added an effect to all units that are docked on walls that gives +20% Range, +25% Missile Block Chance (Shield) and +10% Missile Resistance, so that the theoretical benefits of merlons are still impacting the battle. Giving units another missile resistance or block chance seems overtuned to me, since 25% Block and 10% Resistance already is a lot.
Wanted to ask for a little feature, none the less:
What do you think about adding a missile block modifier for units on the walls, representing merlons of the parapet.
Or probably a flat out missile resist?
cheers
Any update on this? That's all I want!
@TheMediCat units get a 10% Missile Resistance (and I think about 20% range?) when docked on siege walls or barricades. Plus the actual models of the merlons block enemy missiles, which actually prevents quite a bit of damage plus of course line of sight disadvantages for the enemy. With all these advantages I think another bonus to Missile Resistance seems a bit too op for me.
current base game buffs arent good enough
@incata nice catch! didnt think about that, to me the most simple way seemed to be to kind of "mimic" the "siege defender" buff and just modify the stats it provides and when it applies
@Strain This could be achieved in a much simpler way, adding
wh3_ef_line_siege_wall / stat_melee_defence / 5 / add
wh3_ef_line_siege_wall / stat_morale / 9 / add
In special_ability_phase_stat_effects_tables you would get the same effect without further additions but thanks for sharing your work.
