It's one of my favorites too. I was really happy when I came up with the gun layout and it turned out really strong because of that. It'll deck Monarch easily despite costing less. Just be carefully against anyone with railguns as the armor isn't nearly thick enough to keep the main guns from getting gutted by them.

this is one of my favorites to use in campaigns, its a great all rounder and tough as nails, its a incredible ship and i absolutely love it!

heyo, i came back to this page because it was where i first commented about your builds! still loving them, especially the flamethrower craft redesign! i'm getting into campaign mode and id love to go all in on the airship theme and make a fleet of airships like you have, but with the proper protections you've mentioned you left out so my ships can actually stand a chance, lol. i'm really loving the blimp/zeppelin-esque balloons each ship has, and i might use a similar theme in my ships! is it okay if i use your builds for inspiration? i'll credit you once i start uploading on the workshop!

Glad you like them! I've got afaik the most popular up-to-date collection, but there's a few other large custom factions you can look through if you're interested. I don't have the most diverse designs, I just found something that worked and took it as far as it would go.

Alright, maybe I will once I start making something worth submitting! If I play more campaign then I know I will. I know the copy-paste weapons all too well. If effective, why not more?

I do understand the adventure mode struggle for sure though. Sheldrake came out of an adventure build, which was a big reason for the copy-paste torpedoes, though I had to finish her in designer after my rambot got sniped.

That's really cool. I was going through a lot of your designs' xrays trying to find the upward lift and i couldnt see many jet thrusters, mostly just helium pumps. I love building airships and even though a lot of mine look like bricks, I aspire to build stuff like this one day. I mostly play adventure though and it's not easy to make an adventure mode airship look good and functionable lol. o7

Canonically they'd be entirely kept up by passive lift through a substance I call aerogel, which is lighter than vacuum due to an electromagnetism-like effect with the ground. The aerogel is solid, and fills most of the tan gasbags of the airships. It's not explosive or flammable, though it can liquefy and escape if an explosion happens nearby. Application of a voltage to the aerogel affects its repulsion with the ground, and is how airships control their altitude, though they're still confined to a certain range, with escorts lower and capital ships higher due to the square cube law.

Yeah, I'd love to answer. I always use fuel engines, just cause it's easy and consistent. I mostly use 5x5x5 engines with about 5k power each, and I'll sometimes double or triple them up for more power. I can push up to about 6k per engine with a ton of radiators if a design is overweight or under speed and it needs more power. My resource gatherers and dedicated transports (ie Zebra, Spheros, & Starter Base) all use RTGs so they can operate for free, and my strategic radar probably will as well when I build one. Some craft have batteries so they can support battery-powered planes or for the railgun on my flamethrowers.

I use mostly jet power for lift, with most of the jets inside the hull near the top but some near the bottom. All airships use helium pumps as well, though only for the resource gatherers and like 1 or 2 combat airships does the passive lift come close to enough to lift the airship.

awesome build, i have some questions about how you build! do you use only fuel engines for engine power and no batteries or steam? and how do you keep your ships in the air? i dont see any lift thrusters...
