heya heya, just wanted to keep the steam-only users in the loop; a lot of extra work has come up, features are still getting iron'd out, and much more importantly, i just went from flying out to moving out, so ive been way more stressed and busy than normal .n.

if you are HURTING for 2.0, again the current unstable vers is available in my thread, but currently, i cannot give a firm date on 2.0's release

The base game aura system lacks a lot of things this mod so wonderfully adds, I love it!!!!!

thats in mod options - if you open this page to post a comment, i think its not too much harder to instead: read the description, and see if the answer is in there, so that i dont have to answer this really really simple questions multiple times a week. :bbtcat:

so im trying to do this custom style that requires style editor plus but for some reason it says error? and it asks me to enable something but i cant find it anywhere

you can add custom sprites yourself pretty easily but its a process that i dont have an official support for yet - i know say this in every comment, but the next patch is the big 2.0 (which is why im late), so it'll be included then. if you dont wanna wait, find my thread on the discord and ask some people there, there's a couple users that add custom sprites on their own that would gladly help you :)

afterimages are a basically daily requested feature, ive explained in thread a couple times that they're actually borderline impossible to add to the current particle structure has - but i still want them LOL.
im making them a seperate thing from the particles due to this, but dw ill be working on it, its just that there's no way to make the particle work like that, not without huge workarounds and a big performance hit.

Something that i personally think would be great is a toggle to make it so the use sprite as particle don't constantly update, so it leave behind images of the move you did last.

hi!! to anyone subbed to this comment thread for some reason, i figured id keep y'all in the loop and say the big 2.0 shoulddd be this week: UI 2.0, introduction of traditional afterimages, optional graphs for variables, shader overwrites - its pretty much the big overhaul ive been looking to throw onto this mod. as always, beta testing versions are available in my mod thread, and all bug/QoL reports are wanted! hopefully this is as much fun for y'all as it is for me to make :^)

The styles only seem to come with one aura from the steam workshop in the steam app.

How do I get custom items that need this mod from the workshop? When i download them they only have the parts of the style that would work in vanilla.

yeah ik ik ik, its good and people like it. which is AWESOME. i feel great pride when i see the stuff people make lol. but i dont like having something widely accessible when i know it has fundamental problems that need fixing; call me a perfectionist, but its just how i work. glad to hear you're liking it though <3

What up, me again thank you for the help last time, now I have a question I saw that in the discord thread that there was a style that had a different character entirely in fact literally the entirey of the vanilla yomi hustle cast, how do I do that?

Jsyk, the character mod Goon conflicts with this one. If you try to fight him in singleplayer and lock in, it crashes immediately every time. I think it's the AI it uses to compute its moves.

turn on clip, and then set the particle in_front - itll only draw the particle when its on top of the character sprite. traditional afterimages are something im 50/50 on being able to do, and they are something i do WANT to do. but in vanilla, afterimages are made by spawning a new particle for each frame. obviously it becomes a lot harder to do when i have a loooot of other stuff to carry onto the new particles. so for now, not possible, in the future? maybe

I can't seem to figure out what the "clip" button does. Also, is there any way to make it so that the "use sprite" particles are fixed on the sprite that was in use when they have been generated? Like, right now each particle mimics the player sprite for his whole lifetime, but i'm trying to create an aura with particles that never change form (they might change size of course) after they've been spawned, kinda like an afterimage. Let me know if it's something possible.

if you hover your mouse over ERRs, it will display text showing why you got the error - in your case, go to the mod options for this mod, and raise the max auras.

animation currently only applies to a very few specific sprites - it'll get a lot more intuitive after the UI update comes out!

1) tip number one: just do shit until you like what youre looking at LOL. alternatively, find the thread on yomi mod discord, there's a pretty dedicated group of style wizards
2) uh yes. orbiting is in vanilla? and i didnt get rid of it. its called orbit velocity!
3) no and there never will be - you can add custom sprites but there's no way to make them show for everyone else, and i wouldnt make that possible even if i could, its literally a recipe for disaster

yeah ive seen a couple people say things along the lines of lam characters removing their auras - i think its just part of the mods, they might for whatever reason remove/replace aura particles. my mod script cant know that characters are removing/restarting the style, so its only overriding once at roundstart.

any idea why the sprite trail tends to stop working a bit into replays? i mean i dont think it happens with every character but there are some things that end up turning the aura off for some reason, i played a match with miko and like 10 seconds in the sprite aura stopped

uh, yeah! you can either make your emission shape size (1,1), so there's only one pixel of emission, or if you still want to keep a shape, you can enable the hollow tag and turn your emission shape into only the the outline.

funny enough, common complaint, not your fault lol. its at the bottom of the char colors (left panel)
it goes back to being its own button at a fixed point on the next UI update, which is probably a week-ish from going up. have changed A LOT of things, so honestly im p sorry that this version has been neglected for a bit.

clip only works w/ characters that dont use spritesheets. it clips to only show on top of the sprite, make sure you set in_front to true as well ^^
i use it a lot to do gradients/patterns on the body
