@Bat-lango It looks like someone else has already uploaded a copy of my mod on the Paradox mods website. If the uploader has kept the files the same, that version of the mod should still work as it should and is compatible with the current version of EU4. If there are any differences, I can upload another version to the Paradox website.
Bat-lango 10 May @ 3:05pm
could you update the mod on the paradoxical mod website,
Please...
Worlds Smuggest Detective  [author] 30 Apr @ 10:21pm
@Vaelyx That would work, everything else in the mod like amount of warscore from battles would still work alongside that change you would make. Though you would want to either make it in your own mod or edit my mod itself instead of the base game files to make sure your edit appears in game
Vaelyx 26 Apr @ 1:56am
Can I just edit the value for NDefines.NMilitary.WARSCORE_MAX_FROM_BATTLES to 50, or will that break the mod?
PapaDunkaa 4 Mar @ 11:57am
@worlds Smuggest Detective i honestly have zero clue how to make mods lmao but ill give it a try as soon as i can
ReichVictor 2 Mar @ 11:27am
that'd be great
Worlds Smuggest Detective  [author] 28 Feb @ 8:29pm
@PapaDunkaa If you would like to try making your own mod, you can make a mod file and add a file in the "common>defines" folder with this line in it:
NDefines.NMilitary.WARSCORE_MAX_FROM_BATTLES = 100

This makes the max 100%. I was considering this idea too tbh, but I was worried it would mess things up balance wise too much haha. If you'd like to wait, I could probably put the mod together myself when I have the time and have it overwrite this mod
PapaDunkaa 28 Feb @ 2:48pm
does anyone know how to remove the limit on warscore from battles?

is there someway i could set it to 100% myself or is there any other mods that do that?
Worlds Smuggest Detective  [author] 11 Feb @ 4:58pm
@Nova Roma No, the combat mechanics are all left the same, so it should be compatible with those other combat changes. The only value changed is the amount of warscore earned
Nova Roma 11 Feb @ 4:35am
Does it affect combat mechanics and military limit, manpower? I ask this because i wonder whether this mod is compatible with Improved Battle Mechanics mod and Responsible Warfare mod. Improved Battle Mechanics affects combat dicecasulties, reality and Responsible Warfare affects army limit in late game, performance, manpower etc. So combined combat and military mod would be awesome.

Love the mod, brings the game much, much closer to sensible behavior from AI nations!

Now if only PDX allowed battle war score to apply to separate peace deals, shame we're still stuck with sieging down entire nations to get allies of the war target out (I understand this is out of our control & out of scope for the mod).
Worlds Smuggest Detective  [author] 20 Jan @ 4:56pm
@Chewie I have had this as well, so if you see the modifier in game, then I think it would be ok to assume that it is already working in game. Since war score is calculated based on total manpower compared to casualties, it may be that they have more manpower reserves, rather than total army size. Honestly if the modifier is in game but the numbers are low, then it may likely be that the battle without the mod would have resulted in an even lower number thanks to those calculations. One way to see it more clearly in the mod is usually by the end of a war, the warscore from battles adds up to a higher proportion of total warscore compared to before using the mod
Chewie 20 Jan @ 3:04pm
Does the mod work if subscribed mid-game? I see the 300% modifier bonus, but I just fought a huge battle encompassing most of the enemy's army. I routed them, but I only got a +3.66 war score.
Worlds Smuggest Detective  [author] 21 Dec, 2024 @ 5:51pm
@johrg I believe it should be, since it doesn't change any AI behavior, and I don't believe xorme AI edits the same warscore defines as this mod
johrg 21 Dec, 2024 @ 2:36am
Compatible with xorme-ai mod?
Выдрёнок 24 Sep, 2024 @ 11:48am
The mod I was looking for. This must be in the base game:steamthumbsup:
Worlds Smuggest Detective  [author] 22 Sep, 2024 @ 5:47pm
@Војвода Рачић Thank you for the heads up, I will look into fixing it. In the meantime, it might also be possible that the 2 units made up a big portion of the enemy's forcelimit compared to previous battles of similar size?
✠ 𝓓𝓡𝓐𝓖𝓞 ✠ 22 Sep, 2024 @ 10:59am
I'm getting a +15 war score for a battle of 10vs2 units, it wasn't like this before.
ReichVictor 28 May, 2024 @ 10:32am
Pretty sure it depends on your force limit. You also get a lot more if you lose I think
Theos IV 28 Mar, 2024 @ 3:37am
I think they reduced the amount of army/navy tradition you receive per battle. Before, I was able to get up to 2 army tradition on the biggest battle but now I never got above 0.5 and AI still get 10...
Worlds Smuggest Detective  [author] 16 Mar, 2024 @ 11:22am
@Theos IV yes, it is possible to do so. Maybe I can add it to this mod, assuming that less battles will be fought per war with the mod
Theos IV 16 Mar, 2024 @ 10:47am
Is it possible to also increase the army (and navy tradition) from battles?
I hate getting +0.1 army tradition even if 60k died in the battle
It's even more painful for navies.
KazsKitten 8 Mar, 2024 @ 2:20pm
I love the mod man, its such a simple yet game-changing addition.
Sontoliver 2 Mar, 2024 @ 9:15am
@Worlds Suggest Detective Thanks 👍
Worlds Smuggest Detective  [author] 2 Mar, 2024 @ 1:31am
@Sontoliver I can add a decision to change the modifier to 250/225%, now that you mention it. I'll look into implementing it once I have the chance
Sontoliver 2 Mar, 2024 @ 1:26am
@Worlds Smuggest Detective if possible can you make it so you can change
The warscore loss and gain ?? Or just reduce it from 300% to 250% or 225% I think 300% is too high.
Worlds Smuggest Detective  [author] 1 Mar, 2024 @ 4:41pm
@Sontoliver That's a good idea, but there isn't a way to do that and set warscore values to be that specific through modding, unfortunately.
Sontoliver 1 Mar, 2024 @ 1:35pm
@Worlds Smuggest Detective Is it possible to change the Warscore gain and loss depending on the battle Size (units in the battle), Length and Casualities??? I belive it would make the mod make a little more Satisfiyng/Fun to use.
Worlds Smuggest Detective  [author] 1 Mar, 2024 @ 1:28pm
@Sontoliver Yeah, warscore calculations are hardcoded unfortunately and can be kinda unpredictable. Generally it depends on the amount of casualties compared to their forcelimit. And it's a good point that subjects can mess things up by getting stackwiped, etc. But at least it is easier to get warscore back through more battles
Sontoliver 1 Mar, 2024 @ 12:56pm
So when a 100 Stack beats 1 Guy you get 16 war score but when a 100 stack beats 90 in a really close battle the amount of war score you get is still 16 also subject ruin this mod :/
🌟 Nyru 1 Feb, 2024 @ 1:05pm
Great mod, the only problem being "Show Superiority" CBs like Holy War and the Horde CB giving you additional warscore through battles, allowing you to easily defeat large empires in less than a year by quickly achieving 80+ warscore.
DUCATISLO 24 Jan, 2024 @ 4:56am
good mod
Worlds Smuggest Detective  [author] 21 Jan, 2024 @ 11:27am
Sorry, I think I missed the previous comments
@kpssitsch @Teve
Unfortunately I don't think it is compatible with savegames since it activates the modifier on new game startup or when countries are released
kpssitsch 21 Jan, 2024 @ 2:59am
Is this mod compatible with save games? 2
Rad Shiba 9 Jan, 2024 @ 12:03am
I think this stacks with the holy war CB and makes it so you can siege a fort and win a few battles and take 100% from the AI in a peace deal.
Fasz_fej_jankó 1 Jan, 2024 @ 6:43am
Is this mod compatible with save games?
Aetini 30 Dec, 2023 @ 5:14am
My understanding is that countries didn't get into a total warfare style conflict where the only way to achieve a devastating peace is to take 99% of the country and subject them to total military destruction and occupation lol. (Ex: Just take a look at any Spain v France war).

Yes you'd have some sieges of major, strategic forts and a few pitched battles which which were related to those sieges - like an attempt to break one or move to start on but when peace was declared neither side was destroyed utterly and certainly not occupied in their entirety. How they fared in the pitched battles mattered a lot even if actual occupation of territory often depended upon a key fortress or city being taken.

Whatever your opinions on "realism", my experience with this mod is that it hits a sweet spot between the your actual game enjoyment and balance.

What goes around can come around, too :D
humbleacadie 27 Dec, 2023 @ 1:52pm
Nice mod. But actually i would not label it as more realistic, Napoleon was quite the exception for the period, with a mobile army unlike any other he had a completely different organization and speed, and was able to live mostly on occupied land. Other european armies were still fighting the "old way". Actually most of the era warfare was about derouting an army for a sufficient time to siege down provinces. However, unlike EU4, most cities were fortified, not just once every province
Sebastian__ 24 Dec, 2023 @ 10:10am
Great mod!
POOD40✡7 16 Dec, 2023 @ 11:44pm
Nice mod ty
Worlds Smuggest Detective  [author] 16 Dec, 2023 @ 11:17am
Glad to hear it helps make the game more fun, thanks!
Espritviril`` 16 Dec, 2023 @ 7:11am
Lovely mod! makes the battles 10x more fun since I added it to my modlist, thanks for your hard work :masonfist:
Worlds Smuggest Detective  [author] 25 Nov, 2023 @ 12:29pm
@Ruitor3486 thanks! It should also work with naval battles
Ruitor3486 25 Nov, 2023 @ 4:14am
yes i confirm it works fine with imperium universalis 1.36
also i was wondering does it work with naval battles as well?
great mod btw i love it!
Worlds Smuggest Detective  [author] 24 Nov, 2023 @ 9:12am
But it might not work for 1.35, since the mechanics dor on_actions were changed in 1.36
Worlds Smuggest Detective  [author] 24 Nov, 2023 @ 9:11am
@Ruitor3486 yes, it should be compatible with Imperium Universalis and all other overhaul mods
Ruitor3486 24 Nov, 2023 @ 5:01am
is it compatible with imperium universalis? can i play 1.35.6 with this mod?
i really like the idea btw focus on battles and not on boring sieging everything
Husary 21 Nov, 2023 @ 11:47pm
Finally, the idea of sieging entire nation to make it 100 is unrealistic and boring.
Ostra 17 Nov, 2023 @ 8:20am
thank you!
Worlds Smuggest Detective  [author] 16 Nov, 2023 @ 6:26pm
@Ostra Yes, it should work with save games since there's now a hidden event that triggers for countries that don't have the modifier mid-game
